This place has been on my saved list on yelp that I want to visit and I finally made it! The pho that I had was the Number 9 and it's filled with many meats and it's very warm fulfilling and delicious! The broth is very rich in flavor and they give you toppings and other side flavors to enhance the foods umami. Too big? Don't worry you can take home any pho that you are unable to finish. The prize for 2 phos is under 50 dollars plus tip. The ambiance of the place is open and you can see everyone enjoy their food. The service was impressive because our food came out right away. This is the place you go to when you crave for Vietnamese food in Atlantic City. The restaurant looked like a very authentic spot. It had a bunch of big tables inside. I ordered a viet iced coffee and small pho. The viet iced coffee was pre poured and kept in the fridge. The waiter just filled the cup with ice. That doesn't seem so fresh to me but it was one of the better iced coffees I've tasted. The pho broth was a bit more oily than I expected. I'm more familiar with thinner meat slices. This was different from the usual pho I get. I would stop by again and order another dish. Serve was quick and efficient despite the fact that I only saw 2 waiters taking orders. read more

Last weekend we took a roadtrip to Pt. Pleasant NJ for an offshore fishing trip. We of course have to try at least 1 or 2 Pho restaurants in every state we visit because we enjoy pho! Always on the hunt for the best pho the state has to offer! To do that we Always turn to our fellow Yelpers for assistance. After reading some reviews I decided on pho Sydney! Place is street front so parking can be a hassle on a busy day but this was a Monday so it wasn't too bad. They also have a parking lot on the other side of another restaurant (which can be confusing). Place wasn't too packed but shortly after we ordered it got busy. This is your hole in the wall restaurant. Nothing fancy but food was quick and delicious. Plenty of seating and the price was great for the portions. We both ordered their combination and got two bhan mi sandwiches to go for the road. The only criticism I would provide is that they did not refill our waters. This seems to be a constant issue at most pho restaurants!! Waiters please check on your customers! Some of us get thirsty while eating pho. The dining experience here was interesting to say the least haha. I've eaten pho in philly & nyc so wasn't really expecting much coming here in AC. I came with a group of 4 at about 1 PM on a Thursday and there were many open tables to choose from. After being seated our waiter took our order almost immediately. For an appetizer my boyfriend and I shared summer rolls. They came out warm which I found a bit odd because I've only ate these cold. Another thing that was weird was that there were slices of beef or pork inside the summer roll. With that being said the summer roll actually tasted very good. The wrapping was soft. I then got the #10 as me meal. Rare steak with pho. The steak was rare but it wasn't the typical thinly sliced beef that you get. Instead it was just chunks of flank steak. I thought the meat was going to be tough but it was surprisingly tender. The broth was a lot darker than most places, dark enough that I couldn't see the noodles. It was very oily and for my personal taste had too much cilantro. The other saving grace of this dish was the noodles. They were very thin and chewy. They also retained the flavor of the broth well. The thing that made this dining experience odd was the environment and servers. I felt like the restaurant was over staffed so many of the workers were sitting and talking very loudly or sitting and watching you eat haha. Who would have thought that you could have awesome pho in AC? If you are in AC, this place is a must. Coming here is part of my routine whenever my friends and I are in AC. ***In a rush? Skip to the end for my tips.*** Don't judge this place by its appearance. It seems like a hole in the wall, but it has authentic, delicious Vietnamese food. I never had to wait for a table or see it crowded, so your chance of getting a table is fairly easy unless everyone starts coming here. The servers are friendly and the food tends to come out pretty quickly, which is convenient if you are in a rush. Everything I have had here has been good. Here are a few things that my friends and I alternatively get and always walk away happy and full. -Pho is so good, especially the broth -Grilled pork chops (if you want to cut out carbs, you could replace the rice with salad) -Vermicelli bowls -spring rolls -Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk Tips: -They have a parking lot but it's a bit confusing. The parking lot is to the right of Maria's Luncheonette (restaurant to the right of Pho Sydney). Not the parking lot to the right of Pho Sydney. There is also plenty of street parking if you can't find the parking lot. -When it's time to pay, you pay at the bar. -When you order pho, they will ask you if you want a large or small size, so be ready to answer that question. -When you order pho, they will bring out a plate of bean sprouts, jalapeno (FYI, the broth already has a kick), Thai basil, and lime. If you order multiple phos, they will bring all of these toppings for you on one or two plates for you to divide among yourselves. They usually give you lettuce with your spring rolls. Dip the spring roll in the sauce. Then, place it in the lettuce like you are making a taco. Also, add in the pickled radish and carrots. And, it's so good! -My method of eating pho is to make a sauce of Sriracha and Hoisin sauce in the little sauce plate provided to you. I've been to Pho Sydney multiple times over the years and have consistently had a good experience. I've dined in and done takeout, and would give it an overall 4-star rating based on all my experiences there. The beef cube with onion flavor had a good taste, but the texture could have been better. I enjoy the pickled items on the side, and the pork chops are not burnt. This is one of my two go-to spots for Vietnamese food in the area. I really enjoyed the pho broth as it was deep and flavorful. I also recommend getting a side of pork chop, it's super juicy and tender! A bit on the oily side, but it's worth it. Been hearing abt this spot for the longest. Finally tried it when i was in town for the wkend! We ordered the bun bo hue, bun rieu and a side of pork chops. My gf and sis really enjoyed the food. They said the soup does not taste like theres MSG at all. Theres a lil kick to the bun bo hue and theres a slight sweetness to the bun rieu. They also give a pretty good portion, loaded with ingredients. Im abit more used to my mom's homecooking so when she makes bun bo hue and bun rieu she puts alot more flavor. But not to say their noodles didnt have flavor, it did but light, not heavy. Im sure you can ask them to alter to ur tasting. They currently have indoor dining, all staff were wearing mask and restaurant/bathroom appears clean. Theres a parking lot on the RIGHT side of Marias luncheonette. Not sure why this place only has 3 stars but this is my go to place for pho while in AC. I've tried numerous different bowls of pho and their rice dishes. Most recently I tried #9 and #51 on their menu with spring rolls as an appetizer. I love how they give you a separate plate of bean sprouts, peppers and basil. I'm a big fan of adding veggies to my soup and enjoy their generous portions. Their broth is very savory and full of flavor. Their rice dishes are also cooked very well. I think they give you too much food but I can't complain about their generous portions. Their grilled chicken and porkchop over rice are maybe the best I've had. The food here is pretty decent. I highly recommend their spicy beef noodle soup or getting a combination of theirs, chef special " canh chua cá" and "cá kho tổ". Which is a sour soup with braised fish. They are open late night, which is great if you're craving something filling and warm. Flavor is all there. There pho is pretty good too. When in Atlantic City, we always stop by for some Vietnamese food. This was one of the few restaurants recommended to us. They have parking on the side that can get pretty tight so be prepared to whip out some pro parking skillz if the space is packed. The restaurant is a cozy one room area, so it can get filled and busy quick on a good day. The service can get hectic depending on how busy they are, with the workers speeding back and forth. We were a large group, which they accommodated by pushing together some tables which was great. When in a Vietnamese restaurant I always get a small bowl of Pho Tai because how can you come to a Vietnamese restaurant and not try their Pho? I also shared a plate of the Com Bo Luc Lac with my cousin, which we replaced the white rice with egg fried rice. Rice and soup is an A1 Asian combo. I am extra critical when it comes to Vietnamese food because I grew up with it my whole life and have eaten in Vietnam. The Pho was good, I wouldn't say the best I have ever had, but it's still delicious. The broth is what I judge the most when it comes to Pho and it was flavorful, just doesn't compare to what I have had before, but don't pass it over, it was still good if this is your first time ever having this dish. Replacing the white rice was a good call because their egg fried rice was super moist and very well seasoned. I actually liked the rice more than my noodles. The meat was surprisingly juicy, tender and packed with flavor. Sipping my soup and taking bites of the rice and meat was a good call. Like others mentioned the parking is a bit strange but at least there is a lot. when we arrived for dinner one recent Thursday evening and walked in, they were packed (nearly a full house). we sat in a booth and ordered pho. the pho did take longer than I would have hoped and overall it was fine. The bowl was very skimp in terms of quantity but I guess what do you expect for AC. we ordered a side of pork chop and it was very tasty, although a bit too many burnt pieces for my liking. also had an order of spring rolls which was tasty and nicely fried. the waitstaff here also doesn't really pay attention at all so we were trying to flag someone down for the longest time. they're either pretending they don't see/hear you or they just genuinely could care less so don't expect top notch service. read more
