Pho Thien is my favorite place for pho in Naperville. We've been here a bunch of times for dining in and take-out. Even though there are a few other pho spots closer to our home, we'll make the extra drive to Pho Thien; it's worth it. Their broth is clear and flavorful, and... this was a telling sign: when I ordered takeout, their rare sliced beef was carefully bagged, and their mint leaves were hand selected and also carefully bagged (not just thrown and smushed in a bag with all the bean sprouts. The food was packed with love and care, and it just shows the level of quality of the food and service here. This is an aside, but even on their website, there are instructions on how to reheat your pho take-out to get the optimal quality/taste/experience. I love that... it offers information and guidance to their customers and the short of it is: reheat the broth on a stove. It's so much better than the microwave. I almost always get the Pho Dac Biet, although sometimes I've venture out to get a different pho-meat combination. I fell in love with their Vietnamese iced coffee with hazelnut salted foam. I have ordered this drink dining and and for take out (dining in is better) but I loved it so much that I tried recreating the salted cream at home and had it for a week (yes, obsessed is the word). Five shining stars to my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Naperville.

Excellent Vietnamese restaurant in Naperville. This is my new go to Pho option in the area. We ordered Rice Combination plate, Steak and Chicken Pho, house fried chicken wings, shrimp spring rolls and Tofu Banh Mi (Vietnamese Sandwhich). We really enjoyed the steak pho, meat was tender and cooked just right, the broth was flavorful and went well with the fresh Basil. The rice combo was delicious, which included grilled pork, egg cake, grilled shrimp and topped with fried egg. I didn't really care for the fried chicken wings as it tasted like the "average Joe"fried wings you'd get at Jewel, I was expecting it to be more flavorful. Spring rolls were average and didn't particularly stand out from other Pho places. They accommodate for food allergies and had various GF options. Service was excellent and restaurant was clean. I stopped in for lunch with a coworker, and while the restaurant was busy, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. Since they seemed short-staffed, it took a while to get a table, place our orders, and finally receive our food. Being on a tight lunch break, the long wait definitely put a damper on the meal. I ordered the shrimp spring rolls and the Pho Dac Biet (P1), but compared to other pho spots around Naperville, the portions were smaller than expected--especially regarding the size of the spring rolls and the amount of toppings in the pho. On the plus side, my coworker's Banh Mi Thit Nuong looked great and was a generous portion. The service struggled to keep up with the rush, as several tables remained unbussed while new guests waited to be seated. Pho Thien is tucked away in the Hobson West Plaza; even my wife, a lifelong Naperville resident, didn't know it existed. I only discovered it because it's near the old Secretary of State DMV and the Naperville Fresh Market. While it might be a better experience during off-peak hours, I feel there are better options in the area for the price.

If you're craving Vietnamese comfort food, run, don't walk to Pho Thien Kitchen! The chicken banh mi? Absolute magic. Tender, juicy chicken, super fresh veggies, and a sauce that made me want to high-five the chef. It's perfect for sharing--if you can resist eating it all yourself! Now, let's talk pho tai chin. That broth? WOW. So rich, so flavorful--it's basically a warm hug in a bowl. Sure, the meat was a little shy on flavor, but no biggie because the broth stole the show. Add a dash of chili oil, and you've got yourself a spicy little masterpiece. Bonus points for the generous noodle game! The service? Lightning fast. The place? Sparkling clean. Am I coming back? Oh, absolutely--because that chicken pho is calling my name! Pho Thien Kitchen, you've officially pho-stolen my heart.

Pho Thien Vietnamese Kitchen Omg. I just had one of the best pho hands down! Wow! Was not expecting this! Chicken wings were excellent too. We were in the area and since our event did not start yet we decided to drop by. Chicago was too far for pho but this place was a min away from our event. Came by not expecting much. As we were in the car we saw swams of people in groups heading to this restaurant. I was like what? This place cannot be this good! They had just open and people were lining up to go in. Really?? Yes! The pho is that good! I ordered the usual, Pho Dac Biet, and tasted the broth without anything. Tasted perfect and excellent. Not watered down! Wow. Finished it with zero complaints. ***FYI, I'm a crazy pho eater that has to have pho from all over. I travel far and in between the states. Eating from LA, Vegas, MN, WI, MI, IL, NC, OH, Manhattan, NY, FL, KS, MS, D.C. Canada, etc. I've had the best pho (rated by the expert locals) in LA, Hollywood, Chicago, GA, and FL. I make reviews after tasting their pho. I know what pho is good and what is fake!*** Do not miss this GEM! If your outside Chicago, try this place !! My Star System: 1=Dumpster fire. Don't waste your money 2=Disappointed. Lot of issues 3=Average, 1-2 issues. 4=Above average, I might come again 1-3 times per year 5=Highest. I will come back a few times a month or more. If I live far, it's at the top of my list to visit when I'm in town. Highly recommended

Tucked away in a corner, this place is worth visiting whenever you want viet food in Naperville! The food tasted so comforting and authentic! And service was kind and fast too. To start, me and my friend shared the woven vermicelli which was so so refreshing and good! The meat was super tender and flavorful and pairs so well with the fish sauce. I tried their bun bo hue for my entree and it was a hit! The broth was super flavorful I barely had to add any sauce. It was perfect to eat since its getting cooler outside. Special mention - whoever was in charge of the music that day deserves a raise! They were playing Disney bops from Hannah Montana hahaha

Pho Thien Vietnamese Kitchen is rated on Google as essentially the best place to grab pho in Naperville and the pho did not disappoint! Outside of the pho, they surprised me several times. First, the peanut sauce for the shrimp spring rolls was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Best peanut sauce of my life - it was SO thick and creamy topped with a nutty crunch! Second, yes the iced Viet coffee doesn't look like much in quantity when I got it but especially after the ice melted a little bit, WOW. I get Viet coffees EVERY time I see it on anyone's menu and I genuinely think Pho Thien Vietnamese Kitchen does it best and the most authentically. Yes, it's strong as to be expected but it is AMAZING! I genuinely cannot wait to go back!!!

This used to be one of my go-to places for Vietnamese food, unfortunately it seemed like new ownership? Last time I was here it was family run. We came here on 7/10/24 and it was like all new staff. Even the clientele was different. There used to be a lot of Vietnamese that would eat there but it's completely different now. The customer service was like a 2 out of 5. We walked in and no one acknowledged us, so we sat ourselves. We had to wave someone down. We ordered hot tea and pho. The problem was we got the pho before the hot tea. It seemed like the Indian waitress was very inexperienced with customer service. I gave the service a 2 because the Asian girl seemed to be in charge and checked up on us. I got the chicken pho which is basically just chicken and noodle soup, nothing else. The broth was good. The beef one looked like it had a lot of oil. The menu for July was severely limited for appetizers and entrees. The food was decent but the service sucked.

I used to love it here but during this recent visit, I was pretty disappointed with the food quality. The spring roll and egg rolls were bland, but at least the egg rolls were not. The bun bo hue lacked spice and you could tell the meat cuts were not as high quality as before. Typically you get a beef shank but there was barely anything. The only decent bite was their banh mi but i wouldn't say it's anything spectacular.

Have been here at least a couple times now. The first time was around 5 years ago, not sure if they still offer it, but during lunch, a kids size bowl was $5 and was just perfect for a lunch without feeling overly full, even with a side of spring rolls. Just recently came here again this past weekend with the hubby for a Sunday, quick lunch before headed towards the city. Typically, we usually get pho at a vietnamesr restaurant. Though we both weren't that hungry, we opted to get two appetizers, wings and their pork patty roll and then we shared their Bun Bo Hue. It was the perfect amount of food for us and we couldn't get over how flavorful the BBH was. We only added lime, the garnishes and I like spicy, so I added a few other spices, but I would've honestly just ate it default. The noodles were good, the broth tasted a tad spicy, herbs of lemon grass, subtly salty and tart. Not all BBH tastes the same, but this one is up there for my preference based on ones I've had so far. It also had a good amount of protein. Furthermore, very friendly staff, nice environment, kinda of small, but felt quaint and comfortable. A must try!

A very delicious and authentic spot for pho! Don't be fooled by the small strip mall location... Pho Thien Vietnamese Kitchen is doing magical things inside this restaurant. Pay them a visit! Your taste buds will thank you. I've been here twice now and have been comforted by this delicious pho both times. The restaurant itself is pretty no frills - a fast casual vibe with paper napkins, plastic menus, and a couple TVs, but the food is phenomenal. The service has been quick and friendly both times as well. The first time I shared an order of spring rolls with my husband and had a bowl of pho (I forget which kind). This last time, I enjoyed the Pho Dac Biet (Pho Thien Specialty) that came with pho noodles, eye-round steak, flank steak, brisket, soft tendon, tripe, and beef meatballs. I ordered additional noodles as well (for $2), but that turned out to not be necessary - there were plenty! The broth, meat, and rice noodles were all delicious. It's accompanied by Asian basil, cilantro, lime, bean sprouts, hoisin sauce and hot sauce which rounds out this meal perfectly. For only $10.50 you get a ton of food. I'm no pro at chopsticks either, so it takes me forever to eat. That's probably for the best though, so I don't over-indulge. They have to-go containers so I loved being able to take home a second meal. If I can make one suggestion to those paying PTVK a visit, I would say definitely get a strawberry banana smoothie! My husband ordered one and I tried his and it's literally the best smoothie I've ever had. We will be back to Pho Thien again soon for sure. Pho soup was excellent, and service very friendly. The thing that really concerned me is each table had utensils standing up in a holder, but standing upside down. So the handle was down, and the fork & spoon side was on top. When my food arrived, I was confused at first because no utensils came with. But then saw them in the holder. When I tried to take a spoon and fork out, it was impossible not to touch the other spoons and forks that were there too. My question is, how many other people touched those spoons/forks before me? And how many people will be using the ones I touched later.. Owner or management, can something be done to change that. Fantastic establishment, but I wouldn't want to eat here again in that situation. read more

I am fortunate enough to live near this location because EVERY time we go or pick up it does not disappoint. The incredible food and outstanding service is consistent every time. My boyfriend and I come here or order out at least two times a month from here. Best pho I've had ! I went on vacation to California a few months ago and the pho there didn't hit the spot as much as pho thien does. The Vietnamese iced coffee is perfect. I love everything about this place. I cant say enough great things about Pho Thien restaurant. It is conveniently located off of 75th street in the same mini mall as the DMV. I was welcomed right away and made to feel like I was a special guest. Our server had wonderful suggestions about the menu as my sister and I hadnt eaten there before. I highly recommend the Bun Bo Hue. It is a clear broth soup w different selections of pork. Our server recommended the rice noodles instead of the vermicelli and it was amazing. The broth was so tasty with just enough spice. My sister had the Pho with steak and brisket. Both were amazing. The owners came by to say hello and make sure we enjoyed ourselves, which we did. read more

I've been here a couple times. It's right by the DMV, so parking can sometimes be difficult. I've have the Bun, as well as their Bahn Mi. Both were delicious, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful both times. I definitely want to go back, and will when I have the time. I also ordered their lemonade, and it was incredibly delicious and is served in the cutest little mason jars with Pho Thien written on them. Great presentation for a yummy drink! read more

The pho broth was good, just not enough meat. Also, the tendon was fatty. Worst, the floor was really sticky at my table. Meh. Also, woke up to very swollen hands and feet, suggesting they use way too much salt. I wont be back. read more

My husband and i have traveled all over Vietnam so we know what a good pho should taste like and the chicken pho here is unlike any other! We had beef pho and chicken pho. Broth is lovely. Chicken was over cooked and dry. Beef was even worse-tasteless and so dry it was barley edible. What a disappoint! Service was so-so, wait staff was concerned with having their own dinner. read more

First time eating here today. A couple of friends and I had a taste for Pho and we found this great family restaurant tucked into the corner next to the Naperville DMV. Funny how many times I've been to the DMV and never saw this place. I was greeted by a very friendly host and she told me to sit anywhere. Once my buddies arrived she immediately came to wait on us and even offered a suggested new spring roll for us to try. The place is clean and inviting and it filled up quickly. The Pho was amazing!!! The spring rolls where to be expected, fresh and flavorful. I had the P1 The Pho Tuen Specialty and my buddies got the P6 Pho Tai Bo Vien with just brisket and meatballs. The food came very quickly and the service was excellent. My one friend ordered a Banh Mi (BM5), his first ever and he really enjoyed it. I ordered two Banh Mi to go for my wife and I for dinner. The grilled pork and the combination which is more the classic I've gotten. Both sandwiches were very tasty. My only two dings that keep me from giving them 5 stars are. 1. They served me a canned Vietnamese coffee over ice instead of making it homemade. 2. Both sandwiches had large hard inedible stalks of cilantro on them which is a first I've ever had. Most places don't put the stalks on the sandwiches. DEFINITELY going back!!! Delicious food, super fast service and love that it is a family run business. read more

Decent Vietnamese restaurant in the burbs with a fair price. Good to stop by for a quick Vietnamese fix and a bowl of hot Pho, noodle soup during winter. There's a spicy Pho version and it adds a good kick to the pho. read more

One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in the burbs. The owners of this restaurant moved here from Cali and so they know wassup when it comes to legit Viet food. The go to order is the pho dac biet (Special pho w/ everything). The broth is balanced, not too bland/salty. They give a decent amount of proteins and the platter of veggies is abundant. Their rice platters are pretty legit, too. So if you're not feeling soup, check out their rice dishes. For appetizers, check out their spring rolls and the mussels, loved it! On weekends, they have the specials for Bun Bo Hue, which is spicy beef noodle soup. It's pretty bomb. Also, their fruit smoothies are yummy, too! Overall the food was good! Chicken wings were seasoned and fried really well. The pho was really good for middle of Illinois pho. Broth was great and had a nice amount of flavor but nothing too overpowering. The portion sizes were smaller than what i am used to and there was not a lot of meat. I would def come back if I need a good bowl of pho to warm my soul read more

Place is pretty good for being in the suburbs, but my preference for Vietnamese food would be green basil. I thought the pho here wasn't as flavorful as green basil. It's minor, but for someone having lived in LA, I'd like to think I can tell differences in quality. read more

I'm so happy I stopped here for lunch after my run at Springbrook Prairie. I walked in and was immediately greeted and seated. I was asked if I needed any help with the menu, but I totally new what I wanted. It was ALL THE THINGS. So I ordered spring rolls, a kid-sized portion of pho, and a BBQ Pork Banh Mi. I stuck with water this time because I needed to fit all the things in my tummy, of course. First the spring rolls came. They were very fresh and tasty. I really liked the peanut sauce it came with. It was a bit more watery than other sauces that usually come with springs rolls I order at other places, so it was a bit more messy, but I thought it tasted great. Next came my "baby" pho. It was definitely bigger than what any kid can eat in one sitting. I love that you can order a smaller size of pho! It was the perfect lunch portion. I order beef pho, and the meat was tasty and not too fatty. I thought the broth had a lot of flavor in it. And the pound of bean sprouts they gave was much appreciated. My BBQ pork banh mi came out not too soon after my pho. The bread was great-flaky and chewy and awesome. The ingredients, as with everything else, tasted very fresh. I would have maybe liked a tad more meat on the sandwich, but for the price I thought it was still ok. This sandwich could stand up to many of the ones you can find in the city. I was impressed. So, clean restaurant, attentive service, delicious food, good prices. Yup, you guys gotta try it out. I'll be back and next time I'll bring some other people with me. read more

I cannot tell you how many times I craved this restaurant's cuisine when I was pregnant. From Bun bo to pho to those pork spring rolls to their bbq to their banh mi. I craved it all and still do! Just wish their serving size for thai ice tea was a tad larger. Still need to try their coffee - but thats for the next trip! You can taste the freshness of their ingredients too. Oh, Naperville, I hope you realize how lucky you are to have a restaurant like Pho Thien! Great place to grab a quick bite. Went here when visiting some friends and introduced them to Vietnamese food. What's nice is while a bit small, the banh mi are really affordable. Three of us split three sandwiches plus a rice vermicelli plate. It was a great sampling and we all had different favorites between all the sandwiches. It was a takeout order, ready pretty fast. I'm a sucker for customer service and our first visit to Pho Thien did not disappoint. Every employee that "touched our table" was so friendly but our main waitress was amazing. She was honestly happy that we were there, showed us what was great in the menu, actually up-sold and talked to us through out our dinner. I wish I got her name because she is one of the best and friendliest waitresses I have come across in a long time. Now to the food. It was great. We pretty much stick to what we know and like (mango smoothie, spring rolls, brisket pho) and this time did not disappoint. Pho broth was solid (we could smell it from the parking lot!), spring rolls were very fresh. I am so happy to have tried this place. I love noodle soups. Pho Thien is one of my favorite pho restaurants. This is very tied with Green Basil in Downtown Naperville. Reasons its a great place to check out: 1. Their Pho is phenomenal. Great tasting broth that doesnt over kill the quality and taste of the meats. 2. They give you plenty of options fish sauce on the table, crushed red pepper puree, red pepper oil if you ask for it, anything you can ask for really. 3. Their service is personally really comforting compared to another pho place on rt 59 which i wont mention these guys are Superior. Always welcoming, cater to what you need, checking up only when they see that we're ready. You know when you start looking around and they'll pick up on it. 4. The rice dishes are just as awesome as the pho. I have some pics but that doesnt do it justice. 5. Ambience. Music is key to my heart and Pho Thien always has a good selection. Not many options in the area for vietnamese, Pho Thien satiates our craving when we're missing Viet food. The location is in a strip mall and during the day m-f can be busy b/c next to DMV. If you've never had vietnamese food, the authenticity here is 100%. In the wintertime, try Pho beef noodle soup, it'll warm your belly! On the weekends, they have Bun Bo Hue special which is great if you like spicy noodle soup. I was going through one of my friend's snapchats when I came across this delicious bowl of Pho on her snap. I instantly texted her asking for the name of the restaurant. I looked it up on Yelp and two hours later, we ended up eating there for lunch. The customer service at most Asian places are poor, with the exception of this place. My friend and I was seated right away and our waiters were extremely nice. Free soda with a check-in on Yelp with a purchase. The spring rolls at this place are equivalent to Green Basil. I was planning on getting Pho, however, they had a weekend special on Bun Bo Hue so both my friend and I ended up getting it. When the Bun Bo Hue came out, the broth was so clear and the first thing came to my mind was "OMG, this gonna tastes like water". But I was mistaken, the broth was actually favorable (actually tasted better than Green Basil) As for the drink, I got an avocado smoothie and it was refreshing since they actually used real fruits. The crab rangoon was extra crispy although perhaps could use more of a crab vs cream cheese balance. I really appreciated how they only set your table with what you need for your ordered dishes whether that be the type of utensils, plates, or sauces provided. They also gave me a smaller quantity of bean sprouts and such which I appreciate because I tend to not use much and always feel bad when I waste the rest. This is also probably the most aesthetic pho restaurant I've stepped foot into. I can't wait to go back!

From the initial planning session with Tara to selecting the menu and then finalizing the details prior to the event, everything was absolutely perfect. The menu that we chose included many crowd favorites and was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed lunch and mingling on the enclosed patio. Our servers, Morgann and Brianna were so attentive and kept an eye on everything including the timing, any refills and all of our guests needs. This was my first time at the Happy Lamb location in Naperville. I've been to other locations in…read moreChinatown and Bridgeport, but each location has its own appeal. This one's building looks like a beautiful lodge. While there is an online Yelp waitlist (that goes up to 6 people), we had a party of 8 so I called the restaurant and they were happy to put my name down for a reservation. We came to celebrate my dad's birthday. We brought a cake to share, and when we arrived, our server was gracious enough to store it in the fridge until we were ready. We had 6 adults and 2 kids. Kids under a certain height (I forget the details exactly) are free. So we didn't have to pay for the little ones, and not like toddlers appreciate hot pot anyway. It was more, "how do we make sure they don't touch the pot?!" which went totally fine. It's to position the high chairs the furthest away from the knobs/hot surfaces. On our end of the table, we got the half-half broth of classic marrow and the gold cabbage marrow. The golden marrow was SO GOOD. I would get this again and again, because it's hot/sour; the flavor of pickled cabbage and the spice of Szechuan peppercorns. Our server said the spice builds over time, and it did. It was so flavorful that I barely used my dipping sauce. If you like hot/spicy and sour, choose this broth, it is DELICIOUS. The sauce station and the prepared food buffet was located in the middle-back of the dining area. It's a little packed and cozy in there, especially during the dinner rush, you may need to wait a little longer or keep an eye on the area to determine when to get out of your seat. This same area has self-service personal ice cream cups, soda, additional toppings/veggies/proteins, buffet (fried rice, fried chicken, egg rolls, fried buns) AND the sauce station. What I did love is there was a gentleman who was making balloon animals/hats/characters for sale near the front of the restaurant. He says he does this occasionally when he doesn't have other gigs like parties or weddings, etc, so my kiddo and my niece each got a cat and a bunny, respectively. This made their day! And it was nice for them not to be strapped into a high chair the whole time, and have something to entertain them. Overall, 4 shining stars! It would have been great if they had private and semi-private rooms like the Bridgeport location, but I think this wasn't possible due to their building. It looked like they took over a from a Mangia Bubala Roadhouse (Italian and Jewish fare) which took over from a Connie's Pizza. This place has gone through some changes, but it looks like Happy Lamb will be there for the long-run.

This visit one of our orders came back wrong (asked for the crispy chicken Caesar sandwich, minus the bacon and provolone). It arrived with chicken and plain lettuce, no Caesar dressing, parmesan etc. No big deal this happens, so we nicely told our waitress who looked at it and said, " yup you're right and we will remake it," she came back to our table 5 minutes later and said my manager needs to see it to make sure it was made incorrectly," we thought that was an odd response, however, they do bring a new sandwich out that is correct. Our waitress then says "per my manger if you want to keep the old one too (one bite out of it) we have to charge you for it, and if you don't want to pay for it we are throwing it out." My questions are; why didn't the manager approach us personally, which is what every other restaurant does, and why were we made to feel that we were somehow scamming the restaurant for 2 sandwiches? There are so many other wonderful Restaurants in Naperville that unfortunately we won't be back anytime soon.

I am still thinking about them and wish it was reasonable to eat just 3 orders of chips for a meal. For entrees, I loved The George French dip sandwich. Crusty warm bread filled with flavorful roast beef and a creamy side of horseradish and au jus to dip. I devoured the whole sandwich. My husband ordered the chicken Caesar sandwich, which is presented beautifully with finely shredded Parmesan covering it all. The chicken was cooked and fried perfectly, tender with a lovely crisp. But we both felt like it didn't have enough Caesar flavor, maybe it needs more of a Caesar sauce or just order some Caesar on the side? It would be incredible with just a little more Caesar flavorful! Our service was attentive and nice and we had a great evening overall!
