This is our favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the Naperville area. It is a true family run business, the mom, sons, and in-laws are all helping out there. We have been coming for about three years, since we moved out here from Chicago. We mostly order the noodle dishes and the sandwiches, the rice platter is great too, my kids love the food here. This place is a little hole in the wall pho restaurant. It's not anything fancy, but the food was good. There is a short menu of different soup options along with some other authentic looking dishes. We got the brisket pho and some spring rolls. Both came out super promptly and were delicious....very very very hot, but delicious. I took it down a star because the of the atmosphere and simplicity, but don't let that deter you. It's a good find. read more

Ive been going to Pho Thien for years. Its not close to my house, but still I would drive there because I like the food and service. Even during these covid times, even when dine-in was close, I would still order by calling for pick up. I am a creature of habit, so my orders were always the same, P1 pho, C2, C3 or C4 grilled rice plates. I never had a problem or issues getting what I exactly ordered on the phone. But this year, my orders were all messed up. The first time I just let it go. Today tho, I paid $59.00. I ordered the same food. When i went to pick up my food, I checked the order and the white guy (he is new) said thats what I ordered. But he gave me 2 orders of pho and 1 grilled pork rice plate. I corrected him. He said he read back the order to me, which he did and I corrected him on the phone saying I want the pork grilled rice plates. But he insisted that He read it back to me and said " well I cant give this to you for free!".. I was stunned for a few seconds there. I never mentioned that I want free food . Aside from being Asian, who speaks a very good english, I dont think I looked disheveled and homeless and poor that he would accused me of just wanting free food. I was insulted by that. I told him he can keep the food, I just want to get the correct food that I ordered. But he wants me to pay AGAIN for those. I already paid $59 plus tip! This was pretty good but to be completely honest, it made my stomach very bubbly and I had a bad experience in the bathroom after eating lunch here. The food tastes pretty good though and the service was too, it just didn't make my stomach feel too great afterwards read more

Sorry we had dinner there. The egg rolls are the size of my pinky, the wings special sauce doesn't exist although they did show up hot. Not a fan of the Vietnamese iced coffee. Too bitter. Almost like there was VERY little to no condensed milk even put in it.

I love Pho Thien! I come here once a week. They have the best PHO in Naperville and maybe the world! The place is clean, the food is hot, the staff is amazing. My kids don't love pho and the staff is ok with bringing in outside food for little picky eaters. They will box up the leftover pho and throw in fresh extras to enjoy at home. One of my favorite pho places and it's close to me, woo hoo! Flavorful broth, noodle portion is ok and there could be a little more as well as the meats. Service is ok, but could be better- mainly when it's busy or when there's about 3 or more other tables filled up . But of course when you're the only table there , when it first opens, service is impeccable. My other favorite pho place is in the city in the area called Argyle and called Uptown Pho and the younger girls ( and on occasion- older man) there provide good service along with the very yummy food. I ate here about 2 weeks ago and it was my first time ever trying Pho so keep that in mind while reading this! It is a cozy little shop can get cold if you're near the door. We were immediately greeted after we sat down. There is no host stand you seat yourself. It feels like it is run by a family which I really liked. I was excited by the menu, we ordered the egg rolls which were not a big hit they were a little oily and fell apart. Then our Pho came we all got the one with all the meats in it since we didn't know what we liked. It was very nice to have that option since we were all newbies. Pricing was very fair and they give you a ton of soup in one portion. And I liked my food enough. Overall was a pleasant experience, just would not say amazing or above average. Best place to eat pho!! They are so accommodating and are so nice and attentive. They are also priced really well. We ordered from Pho Thien Vietnamese Kitchen last night to support a local restaurant. We had a couple of their Pho dishes. If you haven't tried it, Pho is a broth with rice noodles and extra ingredients, such as beef, pork, bean sprouts, basil, etc. hot peppers that you add in to suit your taste. We had the Bun (rice vermicelli noodles) with grilled pork and another with grilled chicken. It was a bed of iceberg lettuce, the rice noodles and the grilled meat. There was a very tiny serving of the pickled vegetables. There were also two long egg rolls. The Bun was disappointing with that tiny serving of vegetables. They can really add to the flavor of the dish but in this case, there just wasn't enough and the dish was boring. The meat was flavorful but grisly. This place is on my Saturday ritual.(after honey do list) I go there around noon every Saturday and if gods smile on me (if wife allows) on Sundays too. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Post on the door says "Wait to be seated". But as soon as you get in .... some smiling face will let you know where to sit where ever. You are attended to in time you sit down. Menu is explained to you. Dont be intimidated ... ask questions. Staff is well informed. Place is clean and music is bumping. Food is awesome. I have tasted their entire menu ..... kick ass. The Pho is awesome. Banh Mi is off the hook. Piece De Resistance .... Bun Bo Hue ..... on the weekends. My man Dung and Super awesome Falicia hook me up with dish with Thai Bird Chili in the broth. I'll preface this review by stating that whenever I see a new Yelp page with an abundance of five star reviews, and said reviews are the ONLY reviews the Yelper has ever left, I am extremely skeptical to say the least! Having a Vietnamese wife with amazing culinary skills, I am no stranger to the flavors of traditional Viet cuisine. She has insisted we try many of the Vietnamese restaurants in both Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, despite the fact that we almost always leave dissatisfied. Unfortunately, Pho Thien was no exception. As a someone with a major preference toward eating pescetarian, I was very disappointed to see that the menu offers no vegetarian or strictly pescetarian entrees. It is 2016 now and vegetarians or pescetarians are no longer anywhere near the extreme end of the restrictive diet spectrum. I know plenty of vegetarian Buddhist Vietnamese as well so traditional ingredients is not an excuse either. I really didn't want to order anything, but given that it was well past dinner time, and I hadn't eaten for most of the day, I reluctantly did so. I opted for the Bun Dac Biet, asking that the grilled pork and pork containing egg roll be omitted, and the Banh Beo Tom Chay as an appetizer. I thought the appetizer was tasty, my wife on the other hand did not, citing the lack of fried onion and substitution of sauteed shrimp for what should have been dried shrimp. This Bun Dac Biet dish was neither amazing nor terrible (not that it could be given its very basic ingredients). However, my wife was very disappointed to see that the wide variety of mints and leaves traditionally included in this dish had been severely scaled back to only cilantro. She ordered a bowl of beef Pho for herself, and a bowl of chicken Pho for our sons. They aren't old enough to to know how bland the soup was, but my wife certainly did and she forced me to try a spoonful of the beef broth. There was merely a slight aftertaste of the cinnamon, cloves, fennel, and star anise that define the distinctive Pho flavor. Coincidentally I asked my wife what Thien meant, she informed me that it indicated this place was claiming to be Pho Heaven. If this is the case, an eternity in Pho hell should be something they threaten all badly behaved Vietnamese children with. The only thing that saved this experience from being one star was the service. Both our waitress and the manger were very attentive and pleasant. read more
