Awesome food, I had the BBQ pork vermicelli. The noodles hit the spot and the sauce was excellent. Pork was seasoned very well and was super tender. good portion sizes and great price for what you get. The menu is not huge which for me is a big thumbs up as it means that their cooks can focus on constancy and quality for the items they offer. I had mine to go and the to go service was very good, wait time ~10 minutes, perfect for some conversation and time to appreciate the food when you get it. Was hot and delicious. This is by far the best pho in the triangle! The broth is the most flavorful of any pho in the triangle and that is the main thing that makes a great pho. It has unbelievable depth with a great mingling of beef stock, spices, herbs, onions, ginger, rock sugar, and fish sauce...UN-PHO-Gettable folks! Very comforting! The BBQ Pork and beef with lemongrass bánh mìs were excellent too! One of the things on the menu that should also be tried is the phnom penh noodle soup. This is a great broth too with pork, crab, shrimp, and squid in a well seasoned pork broth with delicious crab, shrimp, and celery notes to it. Grilled pork and vietnamese egg rolls noodle bowl was delish! Bean sprouts and lettuce were hiding underneath the noodles. The ONLY thing that could have made this better was the fresh mint, basil and cilantro that is often served at Vietnamese restaurants. I didn't ask for it; next time I will. Atmosphere is basic, and their A/C could use a charge-up. But for me, I prefer more humble surroundings and good ethnic food than the reverse. I just cannot stand the current trend to co-opt ethnic cuisines and serve them in fancy, overpriced venues. Give me real food made by and eaten amongst people who belong to the culture, please. We were super hungry and we were in mood for something spicy. So, we took a chance on this little joint in what could be described as not so inviting from the outside. We had Egg roll, Vegetable spring roll and the Spicy lemongrass tofu. Found the vegetable spring roll to be different from what I have had. It was raw. The egg roll was impressive. We had low expectations for the Spicy lemon grass tofu. It turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The lemongrass accentuated the spicy flavor of the dish. It had the right balance of spice and sourness. Bottom line: Never judge a book by it's cover. read more

The Pho Beef was very good, the Bun Rieu was good but a bit salty for my taste, and Spring rolls were big, which is nice. I will go here again to try more items and will update my review. After seeing so many positive reviews, I decided I needed to try it again. This time a takeout order of bbq pork bahn mi and a spicy Limon grass chicken bun. I've been very disappointed in the local bahn mi sandwiches, but this was one of the better ones. If the bread was properly crispy instead of soft it would have been excellent. Well priced atb $4.95. The spicy lemongrass chicken bun was an enormous portion. It wasn't spicy, nor was it like any bun I've ever seen before. It was more like lemongrass chicken in a sauce served on top of rice noodles. Not bad, but not what I was expecting. Others may like this, but I wouldn't order it again. I'll return eventually and try one of the soups. Based on the large number of Asian guests and the reviews here on Yelp, I might be missing out. read more

Nearly two years since I last wrote a review of this place and they had just opened & been here at least twenty times since... I'm moving my rating from a 4 star to 5 stars rating for the following reasons: 1) food quality & favors are consistently awesome every time. 2) friendly staff. Not sure who the owner is because everyone I come in contact with treats me great every time. 3) the price is better than any other Vietnamese restaurant in wake county that I know of so far while delivering superior flavors & experience. If you're looking for white table cloth & proper etiquette around the table, go elsewhere but if you're looking for a 5 star Vietnamese meal, this is the right place. Thank you Pho Vietnam. I go to Pho Vietnam often mainly because I love to shop at Crossroads and it's right next to it. On Friday night the rainy cold weather made me decide it was a Pho night. I go with my boyfriend often and the service is always a hit and miss. Sometimes I get a waitress who barely speaks English and has to grab the owner or I will get one that's really on top of her game. We ordered their combination Bahn Mi and the Pork Egg rolls as an appetizers. The only annoying factor was they came after our entrees. We also had to ask twice for the beansprout/mint/jalapeno plate that accompanies all pho dishes. We also ordered a Large Pho and the Spicy Beef Soup. They were both very delicious. The broth here is by far one of the best. I think the only other place I love more is Pho Super 9 which is my very favorite Pho restaurant in Raleigh. They do serve you water but other times you can go refill your own. If you want good food and are okay with mediocre service, I highly recommend this place. read more

I should of written a review a long time ago but here goes... Ever since this place opened up, my boyfriend and I have been regulars there. Their Pho soup is amazing. Something I would definitely compare to very authentic Vietnamese soup that I had in California. Maybe even a tad bit better! Their BBQ pork Bahn Minh is amazing too. So is the Lemongrass Chicken if you want something spicy. All their vermicelli bowls are very good and super healthy. The smoothies are great too. I get the avocado one with boba. Don't be afraid to try these little dark jelly balls haha they will change your life. Overall I can hands down say I come here a couple times a week. Lunch is packed and all other times there is a steady flow of people throughout the day. I'm so happy this little hole in the wall business is thriving so well. Plus they have the grand Asia market across the street which is where they probably get all their fresh food. I can rant all day about how great this place is!!! Pho broth is pretty spot on, meaty and flavorful. The meats themselves are high quality, tender, and delicious. You get all of the normal accompaniments (lime, thai basil, bean sprouts, etc.). Hoisin, sriracha, and chili garlic sauce are available at the table. I will start off by saying I am spoiled and have access to a variety of great Pho joints in Philadelphia. We were passing through on a road trip back from Savannah and really wanted pho and decided to hit up Pho Vietnam. The building was very clean and the wait staff was quite friendly. My only gripe is the pricing! The cost of living down South is typically cheaper than up North, but I can get a small bowl of pho here in Philly for !$6, and the small bowl is larger than the large that is offered at Pho Vietnam. A large bowl will run you about $9.50. I will say that it is a perfectly portioned bowl and we were very satisfied with it. I also noticed that the vietnamese iced coffee comes out pre-made. I prefer to have the dripper brought out with a glass of ice so I can determine how much condensed milk I want to stir in. I don't like it to be TOO sweet. Not a deal breaker though, I just didn't order one. Overall. Great pho. A little expensive but is definitely worth a try. read more

This place is a wonderful surprise hidden on Buck Jones Road. I have dined here many times for months and been remiss in not reviewing. Do not let the exterior fool you. This is a hidden gem in Cary. As usual, before writing a review for a Vietnamese restaurant, I have to put out the disclaimer that I'm Vietnamese and therefore, am very critical of Vietnamese foods. I have tasted TRUE homemade dishes and it's hard to ignore those flavorful memories when buying food at restaurants. I do try my best to be objective though. That said....Pho Vietnam left MUCH to be desired. Like...flavor....and more noodles. I picked up 2 dishes: a large bowl of Pho Tai Bo Vien (meatball and thinly sliced beef) and Bun Thit Cha Gio (Vermicelli noodles with Pork and Eggroll). The Pho was very bland and there wasn't enough meat...especially for the price they were charging. Also, I ordered these to-go since I was exhausted and just wanted to go home and eat in front of a TV. The sriracha and hoisin sauces were not included. Of course, I always have these sauces in my home so I was okay, but not everyone has these and they are definitely necessary when eating Pho. As for the Bun, it was decent, except for the fact that there was only about half a cup of noodles. The portion was extremely small, especially running at $9. The place itself needs a bit more decor and brightening, but it's nothing bad. You basically walk in, place your order and pay, then have a seat and they'll bring the food to you. So it's sorta like Pei Wei. There's not much variety on the menu, but perhaps they'll add more once they get into the groove of things, who knows. And the staff was nice. I noticed that they sell Banh Mi (Vietnamese sandwich subs), so I'll probably stop by one more time to try these out (although they're asking upwards of $4 for these when they're $3.25 in Raleigh...). However, I'm pretty sure I won't be stopping by again for their pho or bun. I'd rather make the trek out to Taste or Pho Far East. read more

I always crave pho on a cold and rainy day, and this is the place I come to fix that craving! I have never ordered anything than the large combination pho, but it's well worth it! The portions here are not as large as other pho restaurants, but I say quality over quantity! I find the pho to be not as oily as other restaurants, yet full of flavor. A solid 3.5 stars. Great pho, meh service. Still a happy customer though! I'll be honest.. if I could eat pho everyday, I probably would. Noodles are life, and I take noodles seriously. That being said, this place definitely satisfies my cravings, especially since the options in the Cary/Raleigh area are limited. (I can't always drive 20-30 minutes to Pho Far East.) Located across the street from Grand Asia Market, Pho Vietnam serves a variety of Vietnamese cuisine, from pho to banh mis to rice dishes. This isn't a fancy Vietnamese restaurant with a nice location or nice ambience. It's got more of a hole-in-the-wall vibe. I come here for pretty much one thing--pho--and they do pho justice. I've only ordered three dishes here: pho, crispy spring rolls and BBQ pork spring rolls. The pho is spot on! I almost always order a large with everything, and although I'm small in stature, I eat like a horse. What I order fills me up every time though. They don't skimp on noodles, broth or meat. The crispy spring rolls are delicious too. Always served fresh, hot and crispy. The BBQ pork spring rolls are just ok. The veggies inside are fresh but the roll lacks meat. My biggest issue about this place is the service. The service here is lacking. There have been times where I've had to remind them to bring basil and bean sprouts, or I can't get a hold of anyone for refills or extra orders. Not closed. They are open as of 10/21/2016 I always get skeptical about ethnic restaurants that typically excel out West, but don't translate in authenticity and quality on the East coast. Pho Vietnam totally debunks all that. It may look a 'lil sketchy from the outside but the Pho is some of the best I've ever had. Cary is on the map with a genuine Vietnamese restaurant. During a recent bout of sickness, Pho Vietnam came to my rescue by opening early (10:00) and providing me with the most delicious chicken pho that worked tirelessly to cure my cold (it definitely helped). During other visits, Pho Vietnam provided me with delicious beef pho, a massive banh mi for two and the best bbq pork I've had. The attitude of the manager is horrible. The price of $12 for a pho sup that is no bigger than a medium cup of coffee is way overpriced. Please don't compare it with Chick-Filet, apple are not the same as oranges. They don't even have cilantro for your pho. there is almost no meat in the pho. I don't come here for aesthetics, but the service isn't terrible and food is consistently yummy. I love the lemongrass chicken over vermicelli, but you can also get it over rice! It has a lovely sauce that coats everything else in a layer of savory goodness. The pho is pretty good, but I only truly appreciate pho when it's cold outside. Regardless, go here. Try it. The first time we went, we dined in and the portions were perfect and service was good. The next time we ordered take out, their garnish game was weak. We were given barely enough bean sprouts and basil for one serving, 1/4 of a lime, 2 slices of jalapeño, and 1 little tiny cup of hoisin sauce. All of that for two different types of pho?!? All of that being said, we really like the quality of food here. It's very comparable to Pho Far East (my wife says Pho Vietnams Ga is better!) their spring rolls are very good, and the little cream cheese rolls are great too! Loved it, big tasty spring rolls, big and delicious seafood soup, and my first banh mi was worth the wait.

"We close at 8." My friends and I walked in at 7:10 and were promptly told that they closed at 8 PM. One of the waitresses sat us and took our order. About 10 minutes later a group walked in and they were also told that they closed at 8 PM and asked if they would like to order to go food but would not sit them. This happened twice more while we were eating. While we were eating (~ 7:30) the employees put all of the chairs up on the tables and swept under them. Then, they stood at the end of our table and watched us eat- it was EXTREMELY uncomfortable and awkward trying to eat as they hovered over us and we still had 25 minutes until they were closing. The food was all good. I ordered chai go (fried spring roll), goi cuon (fresh spring roll), a bowl of pho, and café sua da ( iced coffee with sweetened condensed milk). The bean sprouts were not fresh at all, but overall the food was good. The pho broth was delicious, and both types of spring rolls were good! I will probably go back, but I will make sure to go round 5 PM so that no one hovers over me. read more

I stopped by Pho Vietnam for lunch recently as I was in the neighborhood, and thought some pho sounded good. This is a small restaurant with food options similar to what you would find in other Vietnamese restaurants in this area. I ordered a small bowl of the pho with sliced rare beef and a bbq beef bánh mì sandwich. Both were good, but not great. I am far from a Vietnamese food expert, but can say that the pho wasn't as good as some others I had. The broth wasn't as flavorful, bean sprouts and basil not as fresh as some other places(it is Winter though, so maybe they get a pass there). The bánh mì sandwich bread was excellent and fresh, but the meat in the sandwich seemed to lack flavor. The two best Vietnamese restaurants, I have visited in the area so far are between Pho Far East and Pho Super 9, both off of Capital Blvd. in Raleigh. Both had better food and a nicer ambiance than Pho Vietnam which had a pretty basic interior. The interior was nothing hideous or anything, just not very much décor, and plain looking. For the best Vietnamese in the area, head over to Capital Blvd, but if you are in the crossroads area of Cary and feeling Vietnamese, Pho Vietnam is an A-OK option. read more

Came here today in the midst of Hurricane Florence and this place was PACKED! When it comes to pho, the art is in the broth, and the broth was decent! Ordered their fried spring rolls and their banh Minh sandwich. The fried spring rolls in my opinion could have been a bit crispier and the banh Minh was good tasting! After a hectic day,we stopped here for late lunch in hopes of having some pho. To our disappointment they didn't carry any vegetarian or chicken pho. We ended up ordering two appetizers vegetarian rolls & chicken spring roll. The vegetarian roll had a lot of lettuce,which tasted bland for our palettes. However they did have a nice crunch with what I think was crispy onions. Chicken spring rolls was one of the best I've eaten. It had grounded chicken with good flavors. Giving this place another star! I go to Pho Vietnam very frequently these days. It is a quick fix around lunch, and the workers are pretty friendly people. Service can be hit or miss, but for the most part this is a good place to stop by and get a quick Vietnamese food fix. I get the Chicken Pho or sometimes just swing by for Fresh Spring Rolls. Both taste awesome. I have not had the same strange chicken experience I had the first time. The BBQ Vermicelli is another good choice. read more
