With every gulp of phó you'll always feel like it's your first time. I love you pho-ever! Let's begin this food review. Pho VT is a nice Vietnamese food joint that offer great Phó and service. It's located in a corner plaza on Hillhurst ave and they're one of the very few Vietnamese restaurant in Los Feliz. We came on a cool 63degree, cloudy afternoon to grab a Pho. They have a breadth of items on their menu. I had a Phó-Chicken; it was very tasty, warm and flavorful especially the broth. Lemonade was refreshing. Serving was large. Atmosphere was relaxing. Staff were nice and competent. Indoor layout was simple with a couple dining tables; there was enough space between tables but it can be tight if it gets crowded. Prices were very fair and competitive for the area. For instance, the Pho meal cost $15 which is enough to satisfy the stomach of a full grown man. Hahaha. Parking is available on the plaza as well as side street. Collectively, this is a great Vietnamese joint in the area. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my Pho-Chicken and their service. Stopped in on the way home from work for take-out but they were closed for a break until 3:30-4:30. I was first in line at the door, my order taken, and was told it'd be 15 minutes. It took about 20 minutes and I noticed the orders being filled first appeared to be phone or online orders because I had to wait and watch them go through all the order tags before getting to mine. Got my order and got home to find out I didn't get the sauces for the 2 bun I ordered. I ordered a papaya salad also which turned out to be swimming in a sweet fish sauce. (By the way, the bun has fried chicken which I didn't expect. I thought it'd be sautéed.) What is goin on here? The sauce for the papaya salad is sweet? Why are sauces becoming sweeter? To appeal to a population that is afraid of the real stuff? For those of you who like that sweeter side of the traditional sauces that accompany these Vietnamese Thai dishes, this is the place for you. My opinion? It's weird and unauthentic, but everyone is different. If I am going to order Vietnamese or Thai food, I expect its flavors to be as they should be so I'll be passing on this spot even I want to support them as a local business. Went on a Friday night, the food portions were good. Seating is limited and snug. The service is "mom pop" shop vibes. It took a bit to order and get food, it seems really busy. Overall the food pho broth was my favorite. The spring rolls could have been rolled tighter but the taste of them with peanut sauce did not lack. :) read more

The customer service is amazing. The place is nice small so if you have a big group be prepared for a wait. With the stars being almost 5 stars I had to check it out. Come to find out there Pho didnt even taste that great im guessing it has a thai fusion to it. But since I live near the area I will mos def come back for them crab egg rolls. The fried calamari was burnt and salty to my liking to much salt on that batter not even white rice can save it. Since this review is for the pho this spot isn't it. I love love LOVE this spot! Everything I have tried has always been so flavorful, in large quantity and the best bang for your buck! Some of my faves are the tofu bun bowl, vegetarian pho, fried rice, veggie egg rolls, Thai ice tea lemonade, mango sticky rice(duh) and my partner always orders the pho with beef meatballs and rare steak. The menu is huge and so diverse so it makes it easy for anyone to enjoy something. The staff is always so friendly and accommodating, which makes it so easy to walk in. The decor is really fun and groovy as well. There isn't any booth seating but there is a lot of chairs to fit everyone. It's a slight tight fit, but this place is worth it! One stop shop for your Vietnamese and Thai fix. With most of the standard affair for Vietnamese eatery, the Pho here is decent and excellent for the area without heading farther east. Ingredients are fresh, noodles are good, portion is generous for the price, and they are not skimpy on the protein. The broth is average, but salvageable with some fresh basil, chili peppers, and lime juice. Bun orders are equally as good, and worth a try as the flavors are on point. Their Thai dishes are excellent, and possibly shine a little bit brighter. Also, their portion sizes are generous and of good value. Spice levels are not extreme, and flavors are balanced. The only item I would not recommend are their fried egg rolls. They are lacking substance and flavor and has an identity confusion. read more

Pho VT is a Thai restaurant that specializes in a Vietnamese and Thai food. Stopped by on a whim. We tried a little of both cuisines from the menu. Real talk here, their Thai food is good! I loved their Sukhothai Tom Yum Noodles Soup! The crab fried rice (a Thai staple) was solid and full of wok smoke. Very nice. Portions are HUGE! On the other hand, the Vietnamese fare was not great. Stick to the Thai food and you'll be a happy camper! Service is very polite and attentive. Ample parking can be found in front of the restaurant. While out for an evening stroll, I stopped by this restaurant. I was absolutely starving, so I ordered the shrimp noodles. I was astonished by the portion sizes--they were so huge that I couldn't even finish my meal! It was incredibly delicious. After I checked out Maru, my cousin wanted to grab some food around the corner. Food (4/5): The mango stick rice was good but the coconut sauce was very thin. I'm used to thicker coconut sauce that coats the rice - this one was very liquidity. I also ordered the bun beef (beef noodles). It was a BIG portion, which also gave me leftovers for dinner. This review is for the slow service as I was hoping for a quick to go order pick up but I waited about 40 mins for 1 Tom yum noodle soup and 1 VT pho when they told me 15 minutes over the phone. I guess I wouldn't have felt as upset if I didn't have ice cream pints sitting in my car... however, I ordered based on the estimated time they gave me. There were 3 ladies that was waiting tables and packing to go orders. The initial lady that accepted my payment & probably phone call, was not very friendly. She's the tallest of the 3. She didn't give me any attention the entire time I was waiting and had a very rude energy whenever I asked how much longer. One of the shorter ladies apologized for the wait and heard my concerns regarding the timing of the order. She even gave me a bag of ice for my ice creams, which earned the third star for my review. Aside from the service, the tom yum noodle soup was not good and the soup was pretty thick for my liking. It didn't have that spicy citrus kick to the flavor. Ordered Pho Rare Steak + Tendon -- broth was decent, not amazing, portion of noodles were incredibly small, I counted 4 slices of steak and 3 bits of tendon, the entire bowl was 70% broth. The mint was old and withered, tho they stacked you with tons of bean sprouts, it's a clever move to make the $16.95 feel like a full bowl but I felt slightly swindled. Pho VT is one of my go-to neighborhood spots. Good for take-out or casual dine-in. The Khao Soi chicken is SO delicious and always hits the spot. My favorite dish. (I like it better here than at a certain other, more hyped Thai spot in Silverlake, but no shade to that place.) Other repeat orders for me are the Spicy Eggplant rice dish with tofu, Pad Kee Mao, and Beef Bun. As a huge Banh Mi lover, their bread is softer than I prefer (more "French bread" than "crusty baguette") and not what you'd typically expect, but I still order it from time to time as an add-on to a larger order because it's huge and the price is right. Because it's so large you get a higher meat-to-veggie ratio, which some people may prefer, although if you're craving the crispy bread+crunchy veggie traditional version this one might disappoint. Service is attentive and they work really hard to get orders out the door fast when it's busy. No complaints. read more

Parking was a little bit of a challenge on a Wednesday evening. We had to wait a couple of minutes parking is pretty small but we got a spot in front of the establishment. Service was fast and prompt we were immediately greeted and served water, before taking our order. oh my godddd, the food is DELICIOUS!!! I work in the area and decided to stop by. They have a decent sized menu with so many tasty things pho, tom yum, noodles, rice. We decided on the pad see ew and fried rice and veggie egg rolls... my lord so tasty and just the right amount of saltiness. It came out to $62 for everything but the portions are HUGE!!!! I was so shocked I had left overs the next day. The services was AMAZING!!! They quoted 15 min for take out and it was less than that and they were soooo sweet they gave us to go lemon waters after waiting outside. It's so chill inside, for being small they had a lot of tables. I can tell it gets busy during peak but the owners are soooo very kind and cool. I will definitely be back to support! Small but excellent Asian restaurant with both Vietnamese and Thai options. The pho is delicious, as well as the Khao Soi. The portions are very large, so you feel like you get a very good deal. tl;Dr - skip the Thai tea, the chicken egg roll bun had onion skin in it but flavor was good, fried pork loaf for the win! I am immunocompromised so I only got this for delivery through GrubHub. So I wish I could tell you what the ambiance and stuff like that was but all you'll get is the information on the food. :) First, the food arrived hot and fresh which is great as sometimes with delivery, the food can be lukewarm. -_- I'll start with the bad and end with the good. The Thai tea was tooooooooooo sweet for me. I thinned it out with more milk and it was still too sweet so even though I upgraded to get a 32oz tea, I ended up throwing it away. So basically $11 down the drain as they upcharged for no ice as I was planning on drinking it later and did not want ice to water down the tea. Thai Tea is a definite pass for me. They also made a mistake in the food or the menu on GH was wrong as I got the chicken egg rolls bun which was a dollar more than other items. I thought that it was because it said it came with shrimp. Sadly mine was missing the shrimp. Color me sad as I was looking forward to the shrimp and the egg rolls. BUT, these egg rolls were huge and the flavor was decent. They were not the smooth skin egg rolls, these were the bumpy egg roll skin which I was not expecting as I am used to the egg rolls having the smooth skin. Not a big deal though. The reason why I took off another star was that I found an onion skin in my dish. Color me sad as I was enjoying it until I found that onion skin as I was not sure what might've been on the skin vs the edible part of the onion. And since I have to be really careful with my health, I stopped eating it immediately as onion skin can have contact with dirt which would also have fertilizer in it that might carry things that are not good for me. -___- This was very disappointing as I was enjoying the dish even though I was missing the shrimp. So color me very very sad and disappointed. Now my most favorite thing was seeing that they had a deep fried pork loaf which I absolutely love!! I was so excited to get this dish and let me tell ya... This dish was sooooooo good!! LOVED IT!! yes imagine me drooling while having heart eyes. My son was craving Bahn Mi sandwich and Pho VT did not disappoint. This place is 5 minutes away from my work and open late, until 10pm. I had ordered 3 Beef Bahn Mi sandwiches and 1 pork to bring home to my family. Waited about 15 minutes. Worth the small wait! They do not skimp on the beef/pork! The pickled shredded carrots, cucumber slices, cilantro and fresh jalapeño slices went perfectly in the sandwich. Lastly, it's a huge sandwich for the price you pay and the bread is soft. It's not chewy or hard like some other places. I will definitely go back to this place and try other dishes. read more
