Combination Pho w/Rare Steak on the side

Pho Waipahu is probably one of the best Vietnamese restaurants on the west side. My friend was raving about them for weeks till he convinced me to journey there to meet him for lunch. They were easy to find but stalls are narrow in the parking lot. The restaurant is spacious, bright and clean. They had a bunch of diners and it smelled good so I was excited to give them a try. There were only two staff members serving customers and the kitchen staff in back. Customer service was a little slow and we had to flag them for everything. They do provide you a small plate of their sauté sauce, Sriracha and hoisin sauce. You can ask for more which I did. Odd the condiments were not on the table to help yourself. The fresh veggies were generous but no culantro provided. We did ask them to cook the bran sprouts. My friend got their beef stew with egg noodle and I got their combination pho with the rare steak on the side. Both came out in a reasonable time. Portions for the beef stew were generous! So much tender meat and the soup was flavorful. It was so good that I ordered one to go with their freshly baked bread. The pho was better than I expected and a good portion size. We did share a BBQ pork banh mi and that was good and the perfect appetizer. This has been added to our rotation of restaurants to dine at now.

Another great meal here! This time I finally tried the chicken salad and I can't believe I waited this long. It was light, refreshing, and absolutely delicious -- shredded chicken tossed with shredded cabbage and carrots, all drizzled in a balanced nuoc cham dressing and finished with a sprinkle of black pepper. It's simple, but every bite was packed with flavor and texture. This is definitely going to be my go-to order from now on. As always, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Can't wait for my next visit!

For the New Year 2026, "Hey Mom let's go have some Pho!" Yeah You! Mom and Son lunch at his fave Pho restaurant! There is no place other than Pho Waipahu with Yummolicious broth!!! Slurp, slurp... Sooo good! We always have their combination, generously slices of beef, beef balls, tripes, tendon and the gelatinous goodness Mmmmmm! Service always so friendly and the decor feels welcoming too. Mahalo again Pho Waipahu and Thank you Son :)

We were in the mood for Vietnamese food. Read the reviews on Yelp and were in the area so we stopped by. Staff were very friendly and efficient. They have quite an expansive menu. We ordered the BBQ Pork Bahn Mi, the Mixed BBQ plate, and a Spring Roll Salad. Everything was very tasty. . We definitely have to try their Pho next time. Dine in or takeout. Lots of free parking.

    Oxtail pho

Pho is always the "go to" but more so on a rainy day. Came here twice in a week...yep, that's how yummy it is! Located in the same complex as Savers in Waipahu. There is a decent size parking lot. Bonus is that they open at 10am! Service was good. They are constantly busy with people coming and going. You can be ordering with one person and asking another one for help. They all help each other out. It's a cozy place with probably a dozen tables, ranging from 2-6 tops. There are also counter seats. The first time I went, I got a large (yes, large for a $1 more, why not? lol) pho combo #10 (no photo of this- I was too focused on eating since it was my first time there ). Yum! Their hot sauce mix was different from the other pho places I go to. They "prepare" it for you in that small dish. It looked like hoisin, sriracha, and their own chili mix. My second time there, I got the oxtail pho and my bestie got the rib pho. We shared the oxtail and ribs. What can I say? We killed it...and we had seconds on their "dipping" sauce. Oh, we also had an order of the spring rolls and that was good too. I've gone to the "other" place in Waipahu that has the oxtail and ribs and if you're asking how it compares? I'm not a pho snob, so I'd say it's about the same. I think the sauce makes or breaks a place so if I had to lean one way, it would be Pho Waipahu. Crazy side note: I had pho in Oregon and they had no sauce! I was baffled, maybe the sauce is another Hawai'i thing. This is a secret gem in Waipahu! If you haven't tried it, you should.

Bbq pork with vermicelli at spring rolls
    Mer F.

Went to Pho Waipahu today because my mom wanted to treat me to lunch (never turn down a free meal -- that's my rule). I ordered the BBQ pork vermicelli with spring rolls, and it came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. My mom enjoyed her pho, though she wished they had a small bowl option -- they only offer medium or large. Guess she had no choice but to "suffer" through a bigger serving. The restaurant has a restroom on site if you need it, and parking was a breeze with plenty of open spaces. Service was quick, friendly, and made the whole lunch feel easy and relaxed.

Located in the same parking lot as Pacific Supermarket and Savers, this Vietnamese restaurant has great tasting Pho. Combination Pho (Pho Dac Biet) - 5 stars - I chose the Large for $19 and gave some of my noodles to my son. When it comes to pho, it's the broth that makes the pho, and it is very flavorful here. Not watery, and a strong flavored broth, it was so good, I actually drank the whole soup. There were a variety of meat and they did not skimp on the tripe. The garnishes were only bean sprouts, basil and lemon. Didn't have any other vegetables with it. Their sauce is already made in a dish for dipping, but the broth was so flavorful, I didn't need any. I did use it for the meat at the end. My son got the steak pho, he got a good portion of meat, but he said the meat was a little tough. My son loved his thai tea, but I didn't care for the boba lychee smoothie too much (3 stars) because I tasted some powder in the drink and the boba was as soft and chewy as I like it. Service was great, and no extra charge for using credit card. Lots of parking in this complex, but can get crowded since they share parking with a lot of other stores. Definitely will eat here again.

    Spring Rolls

Pho Waipahu came recommended by a friend, so I was excited to finally check it out. The broth was good, and the overall the food showed potential. However, the service missed the mark. My side of bean sprouts and basil never arrived, and by the end of the meal there was still no acknowledgment or an apology for the oversight even after I asked for it as its a given when you order pho. What surprised me most was the lack of a simple "thank you" as we left--something I genuinely value when dining out. Or an apology for forgetting an important side that always comes when you order pho. Overall, Pho Waipahu lands in the "maybe" category for me. The service experience needs some refinement before I could fully recommend it.

    Side of fried egg roll.

First time here. I wanted some sugar cane juice. Cute little place in the heart of Waipahu by Pacific Market. Place is clean with nice decor. They have a great menu selections/options. Price is what you expect from other pho place. I was greeted and seated right away. I order combination pho with side of fried egg roll. The egg was smaller than normal but delicious. I really the fact you can ordered 1, 2, or 3 egg roll on side. Price was really reasonable. Not crazy $12 for 2 cut up egg roll. Of course I had to taste the pho broth before adding any condiments. It was ok, could be better. Lacking in flavors. As always you get half of meatball cut in half. 2 of a half. Lol. I never understand why all pho place rip you off on a meatballs. Other than that. Hope you guy check out this local business. Support local business

    Bun bo hue
    Linda T.

Service was fast but my bun bo hue was missing the bold flavor and variety of meats that it usually comes with. My biggest complaint is the noodles, most of the rice noodles were broken into little pieces. This was a decent bowl of soupy noodles but falls short if it's labeled as bun bo hue. We also got a bbq chicken banh mi that was really good.

    Jennifer H.

Very satisfying broth. Nothing complex but it absolutely guts the spot when craving sine comfort food. Classic noodles in broth is good enough for me. If I'm craving protein, I'll add some chicken or pork belly. Yummm

Food was great! Totally would love to come here again, everything is clean, neat, yummy. I really like their chair lol. So far it's the best in Waipahu. Service was simple and they are nice. Ordered 2 Large Pho combo The Vietnamese Sandwich was also delicious. Got the summer roll too.

It's situated between Far East Sushi and the laundromat. There is plenty of free parking available throughout the shopping center. We visited on a Monday at 7:00 a.m. Please note that the restaurant will be undergoing renovations, so it's a good idea to call ahead to confirm their current hours. SERVICE: The woman who took our order was friendly and patient, especially since we were the only customers at the time. Our food was prepared fresh after ordering, and the wait was very short. TASTE: We ordered the Meat Jun Bowl, which included rice, sliced meat jun, scrambled eggs, diced pickled takuan, and long rice. The meat jun had good flavor, but unfortunately, no dipping sauce was provided. A packet of shoyu was included, but it wasn't a suitable substitute for the traditional meat jun sauce. Rating: 3/5 We also tried the Chicken Bowl, which came with rice, sliced BBQ chicken, diced pickled takuan, and long rice. The chicken had a delicious BBQ flavor, and the banchan complemented the dish well, making for a satisfying combination. Rating: 4/5 PRICE: From 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., the breakfast bowls are priced at $5.70, making them a very affordable option. OVERALL: Overall, it was an okay experience. The Chicken Bowl was the standout, while the Meat Jun Bowl could have been much better with the proper dipping sauce. I'm looking forward to visiting again after the renovations are complete and hope to see some improvements.

Huge portion, a beautifully light and flavorful broth, and the beef ribs were tender and delicious. An absolute must-order! Tamarind Ribs: Tasty, though they leaned more toward classic sweet-and-sour. I personally wished for a bit more of that sharp, tamarind-forward punch. Spring Rolls: Served as 6 skinny half-pieces instead of the plump rolls I'm used to. Because they used flour wrappers instead of traditional rice paper, they lacked that fresh, satisfying crunch. We had a slight ordering hiccup/language barrier when our waiter repeatedly said "teriyaki pork" while taking our order, even though I kept specifying tamarind. He brought out teriyaki, but he quickly fixed it and brought the right ones out! To top it off, the manager unexpectedly took 10% off our bill for the mix-up. It wasn't totally necessary, but such a sweet, thoughtful gesture that we really appreciated! Pro Tip: It gets a little warm inside even with the AC cranking, so dress light! The chicken inasal was more on the huli huli side & was served with Filipino dipping sauce. They also offer free sabaw with your meal. If you have never been here I highly recommend you trying their filipino food. Portion size is good and worth the money but the main reason you're buying their food is cause it's winnahs. I did take out a few of their menu items. Their special for July is lechon Kawali, pancit, pork gisantes and pork adobo fried rice. It's good to get this or mixed plate with 3 choices. It allows to try more of their menu selections. While one is good 3 or 4 is much better especially if coming here for the very first time. You won't be disappointed. I called in to place my order and it would be twenty minutes which is fine cause that's how long it took me to get there. The food was hot and ready to go. I made sure my ac was off so I can enjoy a nice hot lunch. The place was crowded even at 1pm. People know good food when they eat it. Lots of parking. The lechon Kawali was good. It's nice and meaty with some nice soft fat pieces. Oh so good. Yeah if you are worried about cholesterol then this might not be for you. If not you gonna enjoy it. The pancit is good. The pork gisantes which is more commonly known as pork and peas is really good. It's like stew and you wanna mix your rice with it. If you like eggs over easy then you should have that over your gisantes. It's sooooooo good. Kinda like Loco moco except it's stew. When that yolk breaks and blends in with the gisantes hoo boy. Just really good stuff there. Then the main attraction is their pork adobo fried rice omelet. I believe they were the original restaurant that brought it out. I might be wrong but they make it just right. Every bite is so good especially when you bite into one that has fat in it. Yummy. Yeah not a good choice if you're staying away from cholesterol but if not you're gonna enjoy it. The pork adobo fried rice is not dry like some other places I've tried. Ok I admit i love filipino food. I had to get dinuguan. Chocolate meat. Another winner with rice and really good with over eggs on top of it. Nice tender succulent pieces of pork. Oh my God, it's so good. I also got Shanghai lumpia. This is da bomb. You gotta eat this one hot and fresh. If not it gets stale and soggy so I ate this first. You dip it into vinegar. I like a little heat so I add Tabasco to it. Great with beer. It's so good. I'm missing it already. Then the final dish i got was their sari sari. It's soup with mixed veggies, baby shrimp and lechon. The soup is delicious and comforting. It's great on a cold night or maybe when you're feeling sick. Better than your chicken noodle soup for sure. It's also great remedy for that hangover you got last night. Lol All in all you just gotta try it. Let me know what you got and how good it tasted. Enjoy and thank me later.

Everybody please check your food carefully!! Today 7/16/26 I ordered lechon and was shock ,…read moredisappointed and furious to find pieces of GLASS in our dish!!! I called and made a complaint and all the lady said was , sorry! I asked to speak to the manager or supervisor and she said that they don't have one. WTF! I'm calling the owners tomorrow! My daughter took a bite and started chewing and felt something hard . I'm soo upset!! Update: 7/16/26 Called Melissa the owner to address this issue. She seemed very concerned and worried about my daughter who found it in her mouth. Thank God my 1-1/2 year old grandson didn't swallow it because he was eating it with my daughter!! Sooo dangerous ! Melissa will investigate this. Thanks Melissa. This taught me a lesson , as well as having a phobia . ALWAYS check your food when buying from restaurants or fast food. I Love eating and ordering pans of food at Elena's but I'll be very careful from now on.
