Came back here for a quick lunch and this place doesn't disappoint. The staff is super nice and they have many regular customers based on the interactions I saw. The pho is really good and based on the price point, it offers great value. Yes, I have been to better pho places but then you are paying over $20 for a good size. Pho XL offers a great broth, a lot of meat and trips and I love the noodles they use. I ordered the small pho with rare beef and brisket because I wasn't very hungry. Overall, it was yummy! Strong umami flavors and fragrance (from the herbs), delicious beef, and perfectly cooked noodles. Great price and portion for a size small. The only critique I have was that the broth was a bit too salty for my liking. My mom ordered the grilled pork with rice, which was overall well-cooked and well-seasoned. The pork was a tad on the tough side, but at that price point, we were quite pleased with the dish. It's a lot of meat! If you want more variety, I'd recommend ordering the specials with spring rolls and other meats. Service was really quick. The restaurant is cozy and clean. read more

Decent pho. Prices are standard. Portions for the pho are a little smaller than other places but I was fine with the portion as it was perfect without overstuffing (small) Restaurant has a few tables though not many people were dining. Had a few come in for take out during our dinner. Looks like they get a lot more take out than dine in. Food came out quickly and only one person working - I think it was the owner. Located in a plaza with lots of other food choices. Parking is not an issue. They still haven't put up an official sign of their restaurant - just a large banner of their grand opening. Nothing special for decor. One wall has their logo up, too big for inside. Actually that should have been their sign outside. When we entered for lunch, it was practically empty. Makes me wonder how long they will survive. At the kitchen counter, one can see their large bowl that they use if you order their XL size of pho noodle soup for $20! My partner and I opted for chicken and spring roll vermicelli dish. My partner wanted peanuts on it but apparently their version didn't have peanuts. It is a small portion for $9 compared to Pho99 (still one of my favourites). The chicken was tender but it wasn't cut properly. The spring roll fell more like the Chinese type instead of the thick authentic Vietnamese ones. They did use romaine lettuce instead of iceberg lettuce which is better. Crunchier!! Nothing big stood out. No wow factor. After eating every bite of it, I could still eat more. So it definitely didn't fill up this Cat's tummy. (Hint: other places do!) Service was decent as they filled our teas up a couple of times. They use glass cups. Verdict: Due to the drive and the food portion, I probably won't be going back. Sorry. read more

I was feeling for a nice hot bowl of pho on a cold day so we ordered takeout yesterday for dinner. My husband called and placed our order and it was ready to go by the time we arrived. Pho XL packaged our meals up really well. I liked how I just had to pour the pho broth into the prepared bowl of pho they've given us. Usually at other restaurants, everything is in a box. I really enjoyed my large pho dac biet. The broth was tasty, the cuts of meat were good, and there was a good amount of pho noodles. My husband had the vermicelli with chicken and spring rolls. He said it was okay but will get the pho next time. We will definitely order pho from Pho XL again as it's close to our home. read more

Tried Pho XL takeout after finding them on Uber Eats while in the area. The inside was modern and clean and would be a good spot for dine in. I ordered the grilled pork with spring roll vermicelli (my usual anywhere Vietnamese). The port was tender and delicious. I prefer deep fried spring rolls vs this type for this dish, but these were still great. The spring on sugar cane was also a great treat on the side. Solid spot for a bite to eat. read more

Yum! This is a relatively new establishment in the Missisauga road + Derry area. It's a family owned spot specializing in Viet cuisine and Pho noodle soups. The good - service was quick even during the lunch hour - they accept credit, cash and debit - food was fresh and servings were generous - food came quickly - my chicken was delicious and condiments were brought without asking - jasmine tea is served, and they are generous with it! The bad - not the fanciest set up inside - bit on the smaller side, so it can get right in bigger groups - my coworker who is Vietnamese himself noted that the fish sauce and Viet coffee were just "ok" Overall I'd be back, pricing is great and food is good and it right by the office. read more

After a long walk in the woods in the Halton area, came here for a bowl of comforting pho. Ordered their #22, which was rice noodles with steak, brisket, tripe and tendon. Horrible experience. I took a few co workers to try Pho for their first time hoping to give them an authentic experience but it was nothing less than disappointing. I ordered a Large Beef Pho and grilled chicken on rice. The LARGE beef pho came with 4 thin slices of beef only. The BBQ chicken on rice was no better. The rice tasted old and they didn't even give us a decent size chicken thigh as the chicken was already cut into thin slices and almost felt like you were eating a microwave dinner. Went here for lunch. We were served hot tea immediately after being seated. That was a nice touch for a cold winter day. Got a bbq pork and spring roll vermicelli with a side of pork sausage summer rolls. Both were very freshly made and came out quick. The flavor was decent. With a huge portion and great price, this place is already better than most Viet places in Toronto area. Can't wait to go back here and try other things. read more

Not the best, and far from the worst. This place is close to work so I came for lunch a couple times. It is generally very crowded around lunch hours so plan accordingly. I had a variety of dishes ranging from their fried noodles, to their pho. I never had any issues with their taste and quality. My only complaint is that for a place that has XL in its name, their portions are on the small end. So if you rate it by price per portion, it's not the best value in terms of a Pho place. Would I return? Yes because it is close to work and the area is lacking in non-fast food options. Otherwise it would not be a high pick for me. read more

I have ordered from here 4 times now and I've never been disappointed. I had different Pho, today being the beef and brisket. There fresh roles are good but not great. Today my son had the fried rice and chicken which he devoured greedily. He's a picky eater but he really liked what he ate. Place is clean and the service is amazing. Super friendly and courteous. I hope this business lasts because they are in a tough part of the strip mall but if people can get the word out they can't be missed. read more
