Oh no, bed bugs. Only a few--probably a reminder of one of out trips to get out of the summer heat--but they were biting us, which is no kind of holiday memory anybody wants. We tried a product from the internet and things quieted down. Then, back they came. Lift up the sheet and we found one. Another wandering around on our new comforter. Yep, just like the pictures. Time to call a professional. After reading the many great reviews of this company, I gave them a call. Didi was there very promptly. He gave the place a careful going over and only found minimal evidence and one pesky little critter on one of the box springs. His recommendation was spray, not the more expensive heat treatment. And yes, if they aren't wiped out he assured me we'll come back and spray again. Next came a crucial part of the process, preparation for the spraying. Evidently, many people think that the bedbug exterminator is supposed to clear out their closest and treat all their clothes. That isn't the way it works. If you want the work done right, you have to put the effort into preparing. We did. While we could have had Didi back the next day, we opted to take a few days to do that preparation. Laying down more of that internet product to help keep things livable, we set to work. Clothes were dried at high temp and placed in plastic bags which were sealed. Sadly, working the dryer so much also meant the air conditioning was working overtime. I don't like to think of the electric bill. Some things also had to go to the cleaner and a few were to heavy for our dryer so off we went to a commercial laundromat. I share all this so you understand your part. Leave out the preparation and I'm not sure how effective the treatment will be. We were in no mood to experiment. One interesting suggestion from friends that might inform future trips. Here in Phoenix automobiles left in the sun become regular ovens. If you wrap things in black plastic bags and leave them in your car for a day in the sun, chances are any bugs will be killed. While I wouldn't use that as our primary treatment approach, I do think it will inform what we do with our bags next time we go out of town. They'll sit in the back of the car wrapped in black plastic garbage bags for a day before coming into the house for unpacking. Let's just say once bitten or more honestly infested and twice careful. Finally, Didi showed up to do the actual spraying. We got the heck out of the house while he did so. Not for as long as we thought; no you can return after a couple of hours. I know the place was sprayed because Didi did track some of the chemicals on the bottom of his shoes. Since we were instructed to not wash the floors for a couple of weeks--explanation below--we've watched those footprints slowly evaporate. That's the whole point of the chemical, to leave it there. As the bugs make contact they die. But, if there are eggs, those new bugs have to hatch and then make contact with the chemical. Hence the no floor washing rule. It is about a two week period for the last of any eggs left in your house to hatch and those new pests to track their way through certain death. It is now two weeks since Didi sprayed our condo. Nary a sighting or a biting, so it is time to write this laudatory review. Just a couple of personal notes to add. First, while I wouldn't wish this scourge on anyone, I certainly would recommend Phoenix Bed Bug Expert if it does happen in your life. Second, in the best tradition of making lemonade from the lemons in your life, we took this opportunity to do a lot of closet clearing. Five bags plus to Goodwill and more to the garbage. The process also focussed us on the carpeting in our bedroom and our actual bed, both of which were getting old and shall we say uncomfortable. New have been ordered, but we are waiting for a full month to pass before having them delivered and installed, just incase we have the Lazarus bug out there, or rather in here. read more

We had a terrible infestation of bedbugs. My husband and I tried to treat the infestation ourselves but even with our best efforts we couldn't get rid of all of them. I was being bit a night with sometimes more than 15 bites in a single night. I was allergic to these bites and I would develop large welts on my skin. Seems to me almost every single review I read whether on line or thru the yelp app (which is where I currently am) the vast majority are all extremely positive & boast about wonderful customer service, & on time business practice. I called this business approx 2 weeks ago, left a message on a Thursday afternoon, approx 2:30-3:00 latest. Explained my situation, stated I needed a call back asap so I could try & get my life back in order. I did not get a return call, so I called again the same day, slightly before 5:00. Left another message. Still nothing. 2 days later I called again, left a 3rd message, & as of this writing I have never received a call back. So it frustrates me that everyone speaks so highly about customer service & I can't even get a return phone call. I'm still dealing with this issue, although it is far far better than it was, but it has been a lot of manual wrk on my part, & I truly wanted to see if they would help us determine if we have this under control or need further help. Guess I keep thumbing threw the yellow pages essentially till I find someone who can return a phone call &/or help. ******Udate********or maybe not! STILL NO RESPONSE FROM ANYONE WITH THIS COMPANY! I am happy to say I rid myself of this issue I had, with a lot of hard wrk, a lot of time, & a lot of due diligence. I first want to say that having bed bugs in my own home was pretty much my worst nightmare! I never thought I would be dealing with this problem in my home, and I also didn't realize how little I really knew about these annoying pests! My first mistake was that I did not call Phoenix Bed Bug Expert first! I first called 2 companies(which will remain nameless) who both came over and assessed the situation, WHICH ONLY INCLUDED LOOKING AT MY MATTRESS. They did not give me any sort of relief to say the least. They basically told me what I already knew, which was that my mattress had bed bugs. They did not check any other areas, they were in and out of the house ready to take my money instead of taking the time to explain the situation and to actually look at other parts of the house! Needless to say I was not only extremely annoyed at this point but I was frustrated and mentally exhausted dealing with this entire situation. I finally called Phoenix Bed Bug Expert and I knew immediately that I had called the right place. Not only were they professional and intelligent, they understood how important it was to get this situation fixed and made time for me right away. Alex came over that following morning to assess the situation. Without me having to basically ask for a thorough check, he looked at everything, including the baseboards, ceiling, carpet, bed and box spring, the other beds in the house, dressers, headboard, nightstands, couch, pillows. I had no idea you could get them from so many places and how fast they multiply. I keep my house very clean and I learned that bed bugs have nothing to do with cleanliness. They are just attracted to people plain and simple. You can get them from a nicest hotel, restaurant, where you work etc... The price was extremely fair and I was also happy to know that my dog would be safe in the house after the 6 hour waiting period. It has only been a few weeks, but so far so good. I was given a 6 month guarantee with the spraying and told to call them immediately if I see another live bed bug. Alex and his team are wonderful and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone! I pray that I never have to deal with this again but I if I do they will be my first call. It feels great to be able to sleep again after an entire month of not sleeping, due to the bites I was getting and not knowing where they were coming from. Note: there are two "Phoenix Bed Bug Expert" listings on yelp...these are the same company, just two locations. But you can call either...both go all over the valley :) So, we had bed bugs. My wife maintains an immaculate house so it totally freaked us out. We kept getting bit at night but thought they were mosquitoes. We finally thought, "we don't have bed bugs, do we?". We searched Google so pretty much became experts and hunted for them. Nothing. We had friends stay with us too, and they got bit, and they looked, but none of us found anything. Finally my wife woke me up in the middle of the night, flipped on the light and held one up that was on her. We pulled back the sheets and bed skirt and find several more. Some unclean words were spoken. We called Anthony at Phoenix Bed Bug Experts. Yelp said he opened at 6am and I called at 6:10...he answered and was out that morning. He is extremely thorough...spent two hours searching our house. And that wasn't to rack up a bill...inspections are free! He found the mother load that we couldn't and had his crew treating it two days later. No sign of infestations and we are finally waking up with no new bites. Amazing customer service!!!!! It's been a month since Anthony came out and sprayed our home. We have no complaints at this time. We haven't had any reoccurrences. We initially got a quote from a competitor and they tried to charge us for the heat treatment, which was well over $1000. Summary for those who breeze through reviews: Spent $600 for a spray & 6 month guarantee not honored. Review done 4 months after spray. I want to share with others in case it helps. Bed bugs happen to other people, not you. Especially if you keep up on your home and property...until they do. We spent over $2,000 on DIY heaters, bombs, sprays & countless hours of research and diligent work over 6 weeks without completely eliminating the problem. I saw the reviews and also the SIX MONTH GUARANTEE for spraying & came up with $600 more for this service. Less than 2 months later I saw a bug and reached out. Anthony did come back but used a different spray (which I later learned is 1/3 the cost of the initial chemical) and spraying took 4 hrs the first time but less than an hr the 2nd. He needed to come back because he couldn't take our couch apart & for one closet which he did for around 15 minutes. (By that time it took days at times to get a response to schedule this). Roughly 2 weeks later we saw one in a different room when previously it was confined to 1 specific room. I reached out to notify them/him of this & that the initial chemical was obviously significantly more effective & I was told I'd be charged again if he returned. HUHHH??? Facts: I have a 5 bedroom tri-level home, 3200 sq ft, 4 kids, my Mom, few cats and dogs. In all fairness it's a big job BUT I did my part to the point that I took 2 days off of work prior to each spray & was hustling busy from opening my eyes until I fell down 15 hrs later. It will be 6 months in 2 months and I've spent another $300 buying the spray myself and applying it. If we are still bug free in less than 2 wks I'll have accomplished what the "Experts" did. I'm glad to see others were rid of their problem bc when you're all in to get it resolved it takes over your life but I was not rid of mine. It's yet to be seen how this plays out because I'll look into my recourses further regarding the falsely advertised 6 month guarantee, the contract being marked with "none" for any guarantee that I somehow magically missed when signing, the verbal assurance/agreement of spraying again within 6 months if needed, and the money/time/effort spent to prepare for the "2nd spray" that was done in a fraction of the time. Unfortunately, I brought these home with me from a trip. At first I thought I was being bit my mosquitos but then I saw one in my bed along with blood and bug shells on my bedsheets. Seriously just writing about this makes me sick. My Dad came over and I asked him to just start just taking everything out of my bedroom and my son's bedroom and putting it in the trash. My Dad literally thought I was going crazy because we weren't seeing any bugs...until we found a million eggs in the seam of my tufted head board. Didi stopped by my house yesterday after we had a bedbug scare. So far, 5 stars!! I called these guys at 6:45 pm on a Friday night. Anthony answered right away and we set up an appointment for the following day at 3 pm. He arrived early, calling me to be sure that was ok. He went through every inch of my house with a flashlight. Inspecting every seem. Even delicately turning some of my furniture up on its side. He told us that we definitely have bed bugs in the one room. But he recommended is doing the whole house. I told him we were on a budget and he was very willing to work with my budget. He told me that spraying is a good effective option. Heat is the quickest, but also the most expensive. He didn't up sell me and was very kind to me and my family during such a miserable time. I will update this review in 30 days with the final results. So far these guys are the best. I originally tried another company but was mistreated UPDATE It's been a little more than 30 days and the bugs are gone! We can get our house back to normal thanks to phx bed bug experts!! I called the Bed Bug Experts around 11pm one night after my child was bitten over the course of a week. I originally put it down to mosquitos but decided to investigate her bed while she slept, and there they were tiny creatures crawling out of her box spring. We wasn't sure what they were at first but had our suspicions. We captured them on a piece of tape and started to investigate. My husband and I started googling exterminators and I came across Bed Bug Experts. I looked them up on Yelp before calling and saw that they had great reviews, I was a little suspicious but after looking at all the reviews they seemed genuine so I left them a voice mail. The next morning I called again around 7am and Anthony picked up my call. He said he would get someone out that morning, 11am to be exact. At 11am the door bell rang I was impressed, as many of you probably have experienced it is rare for any business to come on time or even show up in the valley. Didi was at the door. I looked out to see if he had a large van with the words Bed Bug in bold letters all over it but he came in his personal car, I was thankful for that, there is still so much sigma around bed bugs although I have now learnt that you can bring them home from almost anywhere - quite scary. Didi was great, he inspected the area and then the entire house. Turned out we may have caught them in time and the parasites were mostly in the box spring which was now outside and ready to be disposed of. I was still freaked out by the fact we even had them and Didi gave us our options. I opted to have the entire house sprayed as precaution. Didi was completely booked that day and weekend (it happened on a Thursday). I stressed my concerns about getting this under control and peace of mind and even though he had a job across town just a ways outside of Maricopa he said he would come after his job and treat our house. He came around 5:30pm Friday evening. I knew he was doing us a favor it was a long day for him and a drive in the opposite direction. We left the house and he treated it. Once he was done he locked up and called us to let us know what time we could come back in. I can't say enough about Alex and Anthony. We live in a world where it is difficult to trust that anyone is not trying to profit from your misery. Phoenix Bed Bug Experts, to the rescue. Not just once, but twice. My husband I returned from an extended trip out of the country. Three days after our return, I awoke to no less than 40 or 50 bites. I won't get into the details of how bad this situation is on a psyche; horrific, in a word. I wrote it off to a mosquito attack, although I had felt NOTHING bite, which is typically not the case. Three days in and it's clear these are not mosquito bites...something clicks and my husband says "I wonder if those could be bed bug bites." Within 48 hours, Alex arrived and did a complete and thorough inspection of our home -- the good news, NO BB were found. None had identified bed bugs, just thought I had mosquito bites. One company actually advised that they thought the insulation in our attic had gotten on my clothes and given me a rash. We're out of town but own investment property in Phoenix -perfect set up to be taken advantage of by unscrupulous maintenance and management companies, right? So our property manager calls one day and says they found bedbugs. Hard for me to verify, not being there. They call an exterminator who comes out and confirms, yep, you've got bedbugs. And heat treating the house will be $4200. So I call Anthony and get him to come out for a second opinion. He comes out promptly, checks the house, and tells me firstly that the same treatment would be about a third of what the other guys quoted, but -and here's the kicker -there are no bedbugs! A couple months ago we found bedbugs on the headboard of our master bed. We were baffled as to how we could have possibly gotten them as we live in a very clean kept apartment and rarely travel.
