    Beach Balcony Sunset

My family recently stayed at The Oasis which was formerly know as Phoenix West II in room 1010 and we had some of the best views from our balcony. Room 1010 sleeps up to 12 with 3 bedrooms and for full baths along with a full sized washer &dryer. The owners suite has a king size bed and the other 2 rooms have 2 queen size beds in each. The couch has a pullout queen sofa bed. The decor was tastefully done and the seating was perfect with the biggest wall mounted TV I had seen to date with everything from Disney to ESPN. Each bedroom had its own TV as well. The showstopper was the view from the balcony. There is an onsite restaurant and bar with an indoor pool, outdoor pool, kids water play area, a lazy river, and an adults only pool. Along with hot tubs in 2 different areas; several on the 1st floor and 2 on the 14 floor along with his & hers dry saunas and on the 15th floor a cardio & weight room. This made our 10th stay at room 1010 at the Oasis and it won't be our last.

Reading reviews from over 6 YEARS ago....the EXACT same problems exists. The reviews are clearly not considered with the management company or 1 of any of the continuous complaints, you would think, would have been addressed The wait time is no longer 20 minutes for the elevator...it's 45 during the 4-6:00 hours. You may ride it for 20 minutes just to get to the 31st floor. The lazy river, yes there are only a hand full of floats for the triple amount of people in the lazy river. It's not the relaxing style river more less the stressful river as the kiddie slide dumps off in it and kids swim through your legs and under your float like it's a swimming pool. The beach is covered by rented chairs. $1200 a night and I was 4 rows back and could not tell you what the waves looked like coming in. However, I did have the option to wake up at 6:30 in the morning to go put out bought umbrellas and chairs while it's suppose to be a relaxing vacation and not a battle of beach space. Oh that's after I paid $190 for 4 days (4chairs) to sit at the back of the beach. The unit inside was beautiful but could never make up for the properties short comings. It's true that you have ZERO privacy on the balcony. The design of the building puts about 5-6 other units level with no spacers so you feel like your on a community baloney. Lastly, it speaks volumes when the only comments from "Brett/Robinson" property management responds to the 5 star reviews. This review is for the families anyway and not looking for an auto response "We will look into this matter". Clearly 6 year old reviews saying the same thing you haven't.

This is how much space you have when you bring your own chair.

This has always been a family favorite for us. 10 plus years we have enjoyed Phoenix West I and II. This year I was severely disappointed to see the property has allowed the chair rental company to occupy 75% of the beachfront at Phoenix West II. At $40 a day per chair. I understand having the chair rental but to take the vast majority of the beach front away from families and who choose to have their own chairs is ridiculous.

We stayed on the side facing the street. Still had spectacular views.

The lazy river, water slide and splash pad were a huge hit for the whole family especially for our one year old.

TERRIBLE COMPANY!!!! DO NOT USE Phoenix V Orange Beach # 812…read more We were notified only a few days before our trip that the pool would be closed for maintenance. When I asked about the splash pad, I was told they had not mentioned any closure, and assumed it would still be open. However, upon arrival, we discovered that both the pool and splash pad were unavailable due to a major renovation project. This clearly was not an emergency repair, and guests should have been informed much earlier or given the option to cancel without penalty. We traveled with three young children, and the pool and splash pad were major factors in choosing this property. The only compensation offered was a 10% discount on the nightly condo rate, which did not adequately address the inconvenience. Unfortunately, the condition of the condo itself was also very disappointing. The unit was in serious need of a deep cleaning and furniture updates. Issues we encountered included: 1. Two recliners that were broken, worn, and dirty 2. A couch that was worn and stained 3. Dining room chairs with peeling faux leather and visible dirt 4. An ice maker that produced only a small amount of ice over four days 5. A foul odor coming from the kitchen sink, likely from the garbage disposal 6. Dishes and cookware that were not properly cleaned, with dried food still on pots and pans 7. A master bathroom sink that drained very slowly 8. An outdated master bathroom with a shower head positioned so low that adults had to squat to wash their hair 9. Balcony furniture covered in dirt and dust 10. Curtains that dragged across the floor and were filthy at the bottom 11. Floors and rugs that were too dirty to allow our crawling baby to play safely Because we were traveling with a baby in the crawling stage, cleanliness was especially important. Thankfully, we brought a play mat, but keeping our baby confined to it throughout the trip was difficult and frustrating. I contacted customer service at Prickett Properties during our stay. The representative was courteous and documented all of our concerns, stating they would be passed along to management. Unfortunately, I never received any follow-up. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this condo. The photos do not accurately reflect the unit's current condition, and the lack of communication about the amenities was very disappointing.

We immediately left and checked into a hotel close by. Our 22 day vacation was reduced to 5 harrowing days. Prickett Properties blamed EVERYONE for the issue....the HOA, the owner, even us! They won't refund all our monies paid claiming we have to pay them for 3 nights at The Palms! Prickett Properties has NO idea what customer service is. They are terrible to their customers. We were in condo number 1107. The condo was absolutely filthy when we got here. The entire sofa was covered in sand. The rug by the sofa had so much sand and other crap on it that it was clear that this place had not been vacuumed. The microwave was covered in food. We have two sliding doors to the balcony and one of them won't open at all. The other door handle broke off while we were trying to open the door. The bathroom mirror was filthy and the shower curtain was half way hanging off the curtain rod. The only thing that had been changed were the sheets and the towels. This is the most run down condo I've ever stayed in. I called the front desk and then went down to the front desk to talk to a worker about the condition of the condo and it was obvious that the person working couldn't haven't cared less about what I was telling him and he rolled his eyes at me the entire time and said he'd let house keeping know. It took three days for someone to show up and clean the room after having to tell them three different times about the issues I was having. When you pay $223 for the cleaning fee alone, you expect the place to be spotless. The beds feel like you're sleeping on nothing but springs. The living room tv wasn't working and I had also called about that and was told someone would come check it out and no one ever came. I could go on and on about how funky the condo is and how run down this entire building is. I usually book through air bnb and this time I booked through Brett Robinson and I will not make that mistake again. I won't be staying at this phoenix property again. Couldn't be any more disappointed especially for the price you pay for these condos.

That was the main topic on the 20 minute elevator rides. This place obviously gets a lot of people once. That's the only way they are still renting. Elevators don't work. You will be waiting for multiple elevators to come bc they are too small for the buggies. Don't even try to use them from 4-6pm. Someone got stuck for 45 minutes in one and the emergency button doesn't work. They had to call 911. UPDATE: 4 people were stuck in the 3 days we were there. One elevator never worked. People were having to carry their beach wagons and groceries up 10 plus flights of stairs. In Unit 1007, you can hear your neighbors above you when trying to sleep in the main bedroom. This unit is by the elevator, so when sleeping in the main bedroom, you can hear everyone screaming in the hallway. You can see all your neighbors on their balconies, to the point you have to pay attention to what you're wearing bc people can see up your shorts/dresses. It's the worst layout I've ever seen. You can literally have conversations with your neighbors outside and hear everything on the balconies around you. Outside, you can't hear the ocean for all the people in the pool. Couldn't swim because someone threw up in the pool. No lights in the kiddie area for some reason. The ceiling is extremely low. The one bedroom units are small. The bathrooms need updating. There's only so many times you can paint over old trim. In general, the unit was clean. You have to pay a separate fee to park. Parking is outside, far away. I've stayed at other Phoenix properties 15 or so years ago and never had this poor of an experience. They have gone down hill. Checking in should be simpler by putting the passes/bands in the room on arrival. The owners did try to decorate the place nice. The bed is horrible. We couldn't sleep because our backs/hips hurt so bad on the hard bed. The linens are dirty and scratchy. Stains all over the extra blankets. There were only blinds on the main bedroom window that opens to the breezeway. I felt like people could see me as they were getting off the elevator. Cheap pillows and furniture. You can tell when a condo is used by the owner because everything is a little nicer, these owners probably don't use this condo personally. The dishwasher was half hanging out of the cabinet. I did appreciate that they had streaming channels, nice balcony furniture, satellite TV and the kitchen seamed to be pretty well stocked. The beach chair rental, Ike's, had the nicest employees. The beach was nice as well. If this is all you can afford, it's not terrible, but if you can spend an extra $300, don't hesitate to stay in a better condo. This condo is in desperate need of an overhaul. It should not cost this much to rent a place with broken elevators, claustrophobic units, and non-private balconies.

Positives: great venue, location, amenities (hot tub and grill on the balcony) etc. The cleaning crew is constantly working in the elevators, hallways, and in public spaces which often goes overlooked but we really appreciate it. Areas for improvement: The front desk folks need training. Every time we stopped by it was a new face...some friendly, some not. Mostly they just struggled with answering basic resort questions from us and others inquired. "How do we rent chairs at the beach?" The young lady said, "sorry i don't know." I called to check on how to use the putt putt activity. Another young voice said "you just putt the ball on the grass and hit it." I laughed, "no sorry i need to check out equipment for it right?" She said, "you can look at it first if you want." So I responded, "do you have putters and balls that i can use?" She said, "yes". I responded "how do i do that?" She said "its free to use." I asked "where do i get the equipment?" She said "at the desk". I get to the desk and they tell me "i must leave my driver license to check out equipment." That would have been nice to know before I came down, . I used to manage a community center so i get it. We just laughed it off, but some people won't so heads up!

The staff were all helpful and friendly. There was someone playing live music at certain times of the day. The room was clean and had a simple but nice setup. Reading on the balcony while listening to the ocean sounds and watching the waves was everything that I needed. The hotel has beach towels that are easily checked out through a machine. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available first come first serve to hotel guests which is very convenient. There was a heated outdoor pool, a volleyball net and a few games inside. We ate all of our meals at the hotel. We ate at the grab and go food spot. I ordered the feta and spinach croissant, a chocolate chip scone and a cappuccino. We also ate dinner at the latitude 30. I ordered a ceasar salad and calamari. For breakfast at latitude 30, I ordered the French toast dish that comes bacon and I ordered a side of eggs. We also ate at the fine dining restaurant onsite where I ordered the seared scallops dish and the vanilla crème brûlée. All of the meals that we ate at the hotel were very tasty. The restaurant staff were all kind and the utensils were spotless. I believe food may have also been served at the bar near the pool, but I didn't try any food from there during my visit. I really had an enjoyable time at this hotel and I plan to return in the future.

The property was recently purchased by new owners after being owned by sand owner who opened it in 1987, which is impressive. Mervin in the restaurant was kind and friendly and been there 12 years. Glinda in the restaurant was the SWEETEST lady there. She maker the omelettes. (Get the omelettes!! Yum!) John and Greg are great pool side bar tenders. The gentleman at the lobby bar was also friendly and attentive, we didn't catch his name. The list of things we wished were different is short. Could have used speakers playing music during the times at the pool when there wasn't live music. Wait times in the restaurant were long. (Food was hit or miss...not horrible but mostly unremarkable... However the spinach dip at the casual restaurant is off the charts and the wagyu steak at Voyagers is incredible!!) We cannot say enough about the marvelous staff. We will definitely be back! We wish them luck in this transition.
