    Vietnamese coffee

Still pretty good pho, big portions and good flavors I've come to this place a few times throughout the year. It's a good pho spot for the Vernon location. The portions are plentiful, the soup is okay but there's plenty of toppings and sauces to doctor it up a bit. The spring rolls and egg rolls have a good amount of pork in them and the dipping sauces are fresh and tasty. The egg roll sauce is this rose water floral sweet, tangy dip which helps with the rich pork. The peanut sauce for the spring rolls had a little spicy zip to it which complimented the fresh veggies. Overall, it's good pho. The pho base needs to be more assertive in its flavor profile. It needs a deeper beef or chicken flavor and more seasoning. So possibly a bit more salt and vinegar to amp up the flavors of the soup a bit. If they make the soup base stronger, then it can contend with the big names of pho in ct. as it stands though, it's pretty good for the area

Pholy is an absolute gem! Their pho is incredible--rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked ingredients that keep me coming back. The fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce are always so fresh and delicious, and the peanut sauce is spot on. And you cannot leave without trying the Vietnamese iced coffee--bold, smooth, and the perfect balance of sweet and strong. Everything from the food to the experience is consistently amazing. Highly recommend!

Gave this place another try, and to be honest the broth was so much better than the last time I've tried it for bbh. I am not a noodle person, but on the cold rainy day I was craving it. I got the special pho and the flavor of the broth was good. The flavor broth reminded me of how my mom made her pho. Again I'm not a pho place and a lot of places are hit or miss. It's not always consistent but for the price you pay they give you a decent amount of meat in your soup as well. Some places give like 4 piece of meat. I'll return when I want pho again.

Great food with some available dishes I haven't seen at other Vietnamese restaurants. Everything I've tried has been delicious. They do a lot of take out business and usually only have one or two servers so if it's busy service might slow down just a bit but they hustle and it's not a problem.

From service to food everything is excellent, we had pork spring roll which is good except not much noodle inside we just so use to the shrimp spring roll always have lots noodles in the paper wrap. Pho is excellent too. Definitely will be back when we in this area.

I have been to this restaurant a few times with a friend and we have never been disappointed. The tofu appetizer is a must every time. I always order the vegetarian noodle soup. It's always hot and delicious. This place gets full of people at lunchtime which is a good sign. It's not a fancy place but the food is consistently of excellent quality and the servers are always friendly and efficient. Just writing this review is making me crave the food again!

Quaint restaurant. The marinated pork was absolutely delicious - my dad had me try a piece and it was amazing. If I lived nearby I'd easily make this a regular thing to order. The pho broth was really good but I think the brisket could've been prepared better it was really tough and I prefer a different noodle than the thin ones.

To start with, this place is fresh and bright. They were packed tonight when I arrived @7:00PM. No problem. They had a small table in the corner that was perfect for just me. I was served iced water immediately and asked to please be patient. They came back less than 10 minutes later and asked if I had any questions. I did and they were promptly answered and I ordered. I had the fried egg rolls. They were amazing!!! I also had the Pho with beef balls. They brought out my egg rolls first as they were an appetizer. Then bean sprouts, jalapeños, sweet basil and a quarter of a lime. I put it all in my pho when it arrived and thus began one of the best meals I have had in quite a while. Loved the food, the people and the atmosphere. BTW they are family owned and operated. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

This is the portion of broccoli that $5.25 gets you! The kicker is that they were hard and undercooked!

Not bad pho, not great ambiance…read more Came here on a whim. Missus wanted some soup so we went to this place as our date night trek. It's close to a sporting complex, in the same plaza as a larger brewery. Not the easiest to spot, will need the gps to assist. The inside is sparse in decoration but the staff was very friendly. We got the spring rolls, the fried wonton, a pho and a bahn mi. Food came out quick, we took pics then dug in. The wontons had a good pork and scallion filling. They didn't need sauce to taste good, which is a good sign. The spring rolls were okay, crispy but oily and the dipping sauce was weak. The pho was good, meat was tender, noodles were okay, and soup base was chicken broth with spices. The bahn mi was pretty good as well. Pickled veggies were very sweet, the ham was tender enough and the mayo butter was heavy handed. The bread was crusty but soft, not what I consider to be proper bahn mi bread, but good enough. Price was about 45 for the two apps and entrees, which is about average for that style of meal. It's not anything to write home about. I would recommend ordering to go mainly because the dining space is right underneath a wrestling ring and the floor shakes when someone gets body slammed below. But it's good enough pho for that area

Pho Van is definitely in play as a top Pho spot in CT. We ate the rest of the food 30 minutes later for lunch. The fried rice, with a substantial mix of sausage, shrimp, beef, pork etc., was up there with CT's best fried rice too. Full of stuff and flavor. The Banh Mi and Rolls were also very good. The inside was more functional than nice, but it's definitely fine to eat there. Service was good. I'll definitely return for a dine in experience. 4.5 Stars

I'm finally back here. The restaurant is Vietnamese and is located at 252 Broad St. in Manchester,…read moreCT. It's been quite some time. This is possibly the largest pho (Vietnamese) restaurant in the state (next to Pho Boston). The decor is real nice too. The menu is huge. There are a lot of options including classic Vietnamese non-soup dishes (one of which I am getting). Unique items include salmon spring rolls and salmon noodle soup. There is no music. That should be on while they're open. The owner, Pete, immediately serves me a huge glass of ice water with a lime. It's warm outside so it's very refreshing. For my drink, I'm having a Nuoc Chanh (fresh lime). Nước chanh is a classic Vietnamese limeade, known for its refreshing balance of tart, sweet, and occasionally a hint of salt. In Vietnamese cuisine, "chanh" usually refers to green limes, though lemons can be used as a substitute abroad. This is good! It tastes closer to lemonade. For my appetizer, I am having the Goi Cuon Ga (chicken spring rolls). Gỏi cuốn gà are fresh, non-fried rolls filled with poached chicken, rice vermicelli, fresh herbs (mint, cilantro), and lettuce wrapped in thin rice paper. They are a light, healthy alternative to the traditional pork and shrimp version, often served with peanut hoisin dipping sauce or fish sauce (nước chấm). These are light and easy to eat. The cubed or diced or minced chicken is a different approach I haven't seen before. Add sriracha sauce for a little kick. These are good! They do serve everything on styrofoam plates. Adding some ceramic plates would be a nice touch. For my entree, I'm having the ga luclac (also known as Shaking Chicken). This is stir fried chicken breast with mixed vegetables and white rice. Vietnamese Shaking Chicken (gà lúc lắc) is a popular dish featuring wok-seared, cubed chicken thighs marinated in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and garlic, resulting in a caramelized, savory flavor. It is typically seared at high heat to create a crust, served over greens with onions and tomatoes, often accompanied by rice. I've asked for extra spicy. Let's see what comes out. There's always sriracha sauce as a last resort. This is more like it! It's served sizzle hot! That's a big portion! This tastes great! It's nice to be served by the owner himself! What a great meal here! P.S.: When paying, you need to go up to the front counter.

The outside of the restaurant is a little disarming, but once you go in, it's incredibly welcoming. The owner himself served our table, and you could tell he was passionate about his food. I cannot wait to return and try some more items!
