I came here on a Friday night with a friend. I normally get my pho to go, but decided to eat in. The space is small, but it wasn't crowded and they have a full bar. They also offer pizza, and I've heard rumors the pizza is delicious. Service: Our waiter Skylar was awesome! He was very attentive and friendly. Food: Spring Rolls - we got them without pork, and they were good. The basic fresh spring roll with peanut sauce Thai iced tea: it is good, also what you would expect. Beef Pho: the flavor is good, the broth actually had flavor unlike a lot of pho I've had. I didn't have to add much to it. It was a tad salty, but I added some lime to balance it out and it was good! Being that I'm a 626 girl, indulging in Vietnamese Food in this side of town is very unlikely. I couldn't handle my craving for Pho any longer and so I caved and ordered the Ox Tail Pho via Postmates. Actually not too bad of a place. It doesn't look like it'll be very good walking in, as it looks too overly upscale and try hard, you know? But it turns out the pho and banh mi are pretty good. The portion of pho is huge, which is nice, and they give you a decent amount of vegetables. There's a lot of vegan options. I wish that they didn't only have fried tofu, though. I really cannot understand why vegetarian banh mis must all be made with deep fried tofu. They also have vegan papaya salad, and that's great that they offer that option, but their papaya salad is about 45% romaine lettuce, 45% carrots, and 5% papaya. read more

Covid19 delivery review: Pho cravings tonight. I never know what to order so I usually end up with two entrees. First one was the oxtail pho. The soup was extremely flavorful and the oxtail fell right off the bone. Just the way I like it and the way it should be. Only thing is, I wish there was more broth. The second entree was the Natural Pork Broken Rice Plate. The pork was delicious and the broken rice complimented it very well. I ordered through Uber Eats an order of oxtail pho & spring rolls. I've been to the establishment in Culver City before so this is my first time trying the WeHo location. I thought the oxtail was tender and good, but the broth was lacking flavor. The pho noodles seemed over cooked, and took awhile to separate in the soup. I added the herbs, lime, and hoisin/Sriracha sauce but the taste of the broth was more like salty chicken broth. The spring rolls was chewy and the shrimp also tasted over cooked, or maybe the shrimp wasn't as fresh. I tend to like the rice paper to be on the thinner/softer side. I'm not sure if I would try them again but wanted to give them a chance since my fave pho place wasn't open anymore due to covid. I guess I'll keep looking. read more

The owner of Phorage reached out to me about my previous review. He was nice and understanding, he offered for me to try them again and he said he will personally prepare it. So I gave them a try again, but when I called them the owner is not there however Roger his employee helped and took care of me. I tried their Oxtail Pho, the meat is tender and the soup is way better than before. I ordered some rice meal for my husband as well and he loved it. My husband and I rarely get to get out to have dinner with our new baby. We decided to come here because we were craving a yummy bowl pho! We ordered the wagyu beef & chicken pho. We were pretty dissatisfied as soon as the broth hit our tastebuds. Good pho tastes amazing off the get, without adding anything. I found myself putting extra of everything to try to get some flavor in the soup. To no avail. Left a bad after taste. The broth was very bland and under seasoned. We felt terrible saying anything in person as we are very shy people and have both worked in service industry. We didn't want to be *those* people. However, as money is tight for everyone around this time we felt we must give people a heads up before spending their money on the pho here. We did have the wontons as a starter and those were pretty good. On another positive note, the service was quick and friendly. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Based on other reviews it seems that the broth has been a problem for them in the past so it is disheartening to see they haven't made any changes. My favorite Pho spot in West Hollywood!!! My 3rd time dining here and every single time I leave with a satisfied tummy. We had also ordered pizza from their other side of menu from Detroit Pizza and I was blown away how tasty the crust was. Was also able to enjoy some cocktails with few friends, the whole vibe was fun. Chicken Pho-broth was very tasty, healthier choice in my opinion. Chicken was super tender, veggies are provided in the right amount. Oxtail Pho- highly recommend, beef was very tender and broth wasn't too salty and very delicious. Fresh Spring Rolls- must get every time, super fresh ingredients, easy to eat, and super delish. Green Papaya Salad- I think this is better than the traditional vietnamese papaya salad, proportions are large. I've been going to their first location in West LA since they've opened but this was my first time at this one. If you're looking for traditional pho this place ain't it. Go to Westminster if that's what you want. However, Phorage is a modern take on Vietnamese food and I'm here for it! I ordered the Ox Tail Pho which is comparable to their other location. Good size portion and great flavor in the broth. Always my go to order. I also ordered their cheesesteak bahn mi, which was just "chef's kiss". I'm from Philly so I know my cheesesteaks really well, but like I said if you're looking for traditional takes this place ain't it. Embrace what these guys are doing over here! My go to neighborhood spot. Quality is always consistent, staff is great and attentive. Alvie always takes great care of me when I come in. The cocktail menu is very eclectic and fun and the back bar has a very well curated selection. The Broken rice plates are always on point and a big bowl of their Pho will instantly cure a hangover. Phorage is always SO GOOD! I usually order to go/delivery- but stopping in is always a great idea. They have a full bar, happy hour specials and other food specials too. Plus it's a cute and cozy little neighborhood spot- perfect for a way to break up the work week (they just started some great drink specials mon-wed). This post is waaaaay overdue! I've been coming to Phorage since we first discovered them on Overland. But the WeHo outpost has my heart because over the pandemic I started bringing them makrut limes from my garden for their bar program - and they know what they're doing on that front! The Halong Bae and the Pho Mojito are both so refreshing, perfect summer cocktails. We had both and they paired really nicely with the caramel fish sauce wings, papaya salad, and vermicelli noodle salad, all of which are some of our favorites. But you can't go wrong here. The broken rice dishes are great, the Pho is phonomenal, yes, I said it, and the Banh Mi, also great. They have fun hawker and street food menu items which, if you've been to Vietnam (I've been lucky enough to have gone about 20 years ago), you'll recognize as authentic. And the service, always warm & welcoming, even when busy! The food at both locations is stellar but if you want a fantastic cocktail, visit the WeHo outpost. Unfortunately lately LA has been losing more and more of its reasonably priced restaurants...do yourself a favor and give this one a visit! read more

Came in for a much needed bowl of nourishment upon returning from LAX after a exhilarating but exhausting girls trip that ended with some passport struggles at the US/MX border. As soon as I saw the "slurp me up" neon lights I knew I had found a fun spot. And that's exactly what we did. The staff were so friendly and helpful upon ordering and the ambiance is fun and vibey. My vegetarian pho hit the spot exactly - the tofu was crispy but not oily, the bok choy was fresh, and the broth was flavorful. You could say we 'deleted' our meals. I love this sweet spot! The vegan Pho is so tasty with flavors and texture. My other favorite is the vegan bahn mi.. which is flavorful and delicious which the tasty French bread crunchy just like when I visited Vietnam. Stopped in to Phorage today for some lunch to break in the new neighborhood spot, apparently they've only been open for about 3 weeks. The space is nicely organized, clean, fresh and brand spanking new. Few folks in there having lunch and some good Lo-Fi beats playing in the restaurant, decided to sit at the bar. Bartender was chill and professional, we talked about the food, beverages (awesome selection) and I checked over the menu. Decided on the Imperial Roll and Chicken Rice Spread. IMPERIAL ROLL was awesome, delicious, filling, and good oil dipping sauce, the noodles also were really fresh and I liked it. CHICKEN AND RICE- This dish was a downer for me, simply because of the chicken to rice ratio. After eating a good portion of chicken with the rice, at the end I ended up with a lot of extra rice. I felt like there could have been more chicken to add to it. No need for extra carbs, but a little more in the portion would help balance out the amounts. Felt like a waste. The HAPPY HOUR coming soon looks to be stellar, 3-6, and would be the only one in the area that has mid day happy hour that I know of. And the booze is on point. I ordered the grilled chicken (perfectly chargrilled and seasoned) while my vegan counterpart got vegetarian pho and impossible spring rolls.. without sacrificing either one of our happiness. The service was also really casually perfect. The waitress and cash/host Jose were just really chill and kind. I want more people like them in all the places. Took a while to have someone bring a menu to me, and then a bit more time to finally get my order in, but then things went smoothly for a bit. The back of the menu was for a pizza place, which was odd... The food was tasty and I had the Coriander Beef Broken Rice dish. It says $13.95 on the menu, but I was charged $14.95. My receipt was texted to me (which was fine), but I didn't notice the issue till after I paid. Not the end of the world, so I just let it slip. I am going to leave a 3 because of all of the weird things. 4 for food and friendly service, 3 for overcharging me, and weirdness and delays. I am sure they can do better next time. **** Updating review to a 4 due to a prompt and illuminating response to my issues on yelp. I do feel that I would have a 4 * experience next time and I do realize the pandemic has created some irregularities in how small businesses have to operate and that staffing is short as well. read more

Very good pho for delivery with generous portions. Note that if you order on a food delivery app, they have "pho vegetable bag" as an add on that includes sprouts, jalapenos, and hoisin sauce. It is not clear at all from the app, but one pho vegetable is included already with your order so you don't need to order it separately. I did find it annoying/odd that they were charging for the bag, but then equally annoying that we ordered and paid for it when we didn't need to lol. The broth itself was very flavorful and the meat was of a higher quality than other pho spots (the chicken that I had in my pho was Mary's chicken). The noodles were kind of one big mushed ball and a bit hard to break up, but I think that would happen with any pho delivery. Would definitely order again! read more
