Magnificent! Its so good that I'm not even done with our meal and I HAD to jump on here and write a rave review! We got a pick up order and had a nice chat with the owner. This man couldn't be nicer and more personable if he tried! I ordered the chicken schwarma\beef schwarma combination plate (it comes with salad, rice, falafel, hummus and pita bread). Lots of food! My husband ordered the falafel sandwich which also was very large for the price. And we split the godfather pizza and strawberry lemonade. Everything was incredible! Schwarmas had bold flavor, the falafel was delicious and moist, the pizza was delicious, even the rice was well done. We'll definitely be back (sadly maybe even tomorrow)! Placed an order online a few hours before my work break. I went and my pizza was coming out of the oven right as I arrived. I ordered the roasted garlic. The crust was cooked to perfection and the tomatoes were fresh. My only complaint was that there was an excessive amount of diced garlic. I cook with a ridiculous amount of garlic and I can't live without it, but the garlic on this pizza was way too much, even for me. I'll definitely be coming back here, although maybe ordering a different pie. read more

Okay, so I have never, ever written a review on yelp before. I've been meaning to write one for Pi-Hi because they really deserve it. I happen to live practically right next door to this place. I lived so close for probably 6 months before I ever tried it. It's so unassuming, you'd never guess what treasure lies inside. I went on a whim one day a few months ago with my son and have been back probably 20 times since. Any time I ask my 8-year-old where he wants to go for lunch or dinner, the answer is always, always Pi-Hi. It has a cozy, sweet atmosphere and really delicious food, and it's the most affordable place in all of the city. But that's not the reason I go here once a week. The owner is THE NICEST guy ever. He always gives my kids either a free lemonade or a free smoothie, he will never allow us to lift a finger to clean up our table, and is just a genuinely over-the-top hospitable person. My kids always go on and on about how much they love the owner and how he's the nicest guy on the planet. Our favorite things to get here are the eggplant sandwich (my personal favorite), the avocado panini, and the pizza Margherita. It is crazy how much fresh basil they put on that pizza. The falafel is also really good. There is no greater bang for your buck in the city. read more

We got the chipotle chicken panini, bbq chicken wood fired oven pizza, and also baklava! :) The panini was really good and so was the baklava. The problem with the pizza was that the crust was burnt and it was a bit overwhelming with the bbq sauce. It kind of tasted like CPK according to my girl. This place is more of a take-out kind of setting, but the service was pretty awesome. In all, we would come back and try their other pizzas and panini. read more

Three different sauces are available to doctor it up a bit...or a lot The interior is on the darker side, but in a soothing, inviting way. What a great place, terrific pizza, and super fresh! A great addition to the neighborhood. Very friendly too. I called recently to order a couple of pizzas, but unfortunately they were closing early that day, and the owner who answered the phone told me he already sent everyone home. However, he promised to drop off two pizzas the next day they were open, on the house, as he felt bad I just missed them. We live directly behind the shop, so, sure enough, the next day, I met him in the alley behind our house, and he had two fresh, steaming pizzas for my kids. Amazing service. We need more restaurants like this in Chicago. The owner, Faris, was so incredibly kind. The food was great, fresh and even my kids were wolfing down their food when they can definitely be picky. Most smoothies nowadays are filled with preservatives and crap. These smoothies are made with fresh fruit and everyone (kids included) loved them too. I wish I could give Pi-Hi 10 stars! I cannot say enough of the amazing food and service at this little gem on Western. My husband and I tried the place a few weeks ago and immediately fell in love with the place. The chicken curry is to die for. And their eggplant is out of this world. Their hummus is some magical concoction of creamy, chickpea goodness that tastes better than any other hummus I've ever had. The owner, Fares, is just a delight. He greeted us the first time we went in and made sure to make us feel at home. He made suggestions from the menu and checked in on us frequently, but not obtrusively. We felt right at home. We liked Pi-Hi so much we decided to have them cater an event we were hosting for work. Fares himself delivered the food for about 15 people and set everything up. I swear we had enough for 30. All of our guests raved about the food. Everything was served up fresh, warm, and expertly seasoned. Pi-Hi takes care to use the freshest ingredients each time. The owner and all the other employees are extremely professional and always treat customers with the utmost respect. You will leave Pi-Hi satisfied and counting the days until you get to come back! Slow, slow, slow! When I arrived, there was one other table. I told the worker that we were in a big hurry and asked if it would be relatively fast. He said yes. I asked for our food to be brought out as it was ready, as opposed to all at once. I had ordered soup and hummus, thinking it would be quite fast. We waited and waited. Finally I went up and asked about it and it was sitting there ready but hadn't been brought out. About 20 minutes later, the sandwiches the rest of our group had ordered were brought out. One of my favorite places to eat in the city, I downloaded this app exclusively to discuss how excellent this restaurant and its owner are. I have been attending this restaurant since it opened up a few years back and the quality of service has not declined in the slightest. The owner is an incredibly nice man with stellar recommendations for food as well as generous sampling opportunities. He still knows me by name, despite the fact that I moved out of Chicago 3 years ago. I have never had a single item on the menu that I have not enjoyed and the prices are beyond reasonable for both the quality and portion size of the meal. Excellent in all ways! The price is about 40% less than 'near Wrigley Field,' so heads up you great folks east and southeast, this is worth the trip. And, the food is piping hot and totally delicious, the best Mediterranean in town, very high quality and made with a lot of love. Say hello to the ultra-nice owner, Faris, when you're there, he turns this counter/grill operation into a full-on restaurant -- he becomes your waiter. I had the shish kabob platter, and first off, just check out the online menu for the prices...very low indeed (that's why we went, I'm a cheapskate). On the platter I got chicken, pita, and all those things I don't know the name of but happily eat -- there was plenty of wonderful food! In particular, their flame grilled chicken is a must-eat, taste that great flavor, right off the grill...wow! My son and I had the greatest time there, Faris goes far out of his way to make everyone feel welcome and right at home.
