Oh my goodness. Once upon a time we came when the restaurant side was closed. After scoping out the pizzeria side and being turned off by the rude teenager behind the counter we left only to return much much later (when the restaurant side was open). We weren't really reluctant about returning, but we definitely we're pleasantly surprised. This meal was great. Our waitress was great, our food was great, and they have Red Birch Beer in a carafe! This place boasts in-house made pasta and rightly so. While my gut said to try the eggplant parmesan, the server talked me into the special. "The special's today, eggplant's forever. You can always come back" [paraphrased] So I gave in and got the special. It was good, but I believe I would have enjoyed the eggplant more. This is an Italian gem in a strip mall in Hershey. They make all their pastas in house and prepare the sauces made to order. Our table ordered the full portion of the prosciutto mozzarella crostini to share. The bread was nicely toasted, cheese was gooey, and each piece was topped with prosciutto and a crispy sage leaf. Everyone enjoyed this appetizer. I ordered the crab and tortellini and was super impressed. The pasta was perfectly done and the Alfredo sauce was fantastic. Along with peas and Parmesan, there were large pieces of lump crab in the sauce. The pasta portion was huge and it came with bread and soup or salad. My husband ordered the chicken masala over risotto. The meat was juicy and the sauce was spot-on. The service was good, considering how busy it was. This is a family place, so it can get pretty noisy. read more

A great spot located right across from Hershey Medical Center. Went here on a Friday night, was fairly busy. Service was good. They have a decent drink selection. Loved their house balsamic. I had the Italian Sampler as my entree. Everything was very good (my favorite was the chicken parmesan), definitely a lot of food though and had some to take home. Went with my girlfriend, specifically because of what I'd heard of the gluten-free options and how considerate they are about it. Had to legit stop her from tasting my pasta dish because she forgot hers was gluten free! If you have celiac or are just gluten free, and have that pasta or pizza itch, go here now. Every 3 months when I need to go for a check up at Penn State Hershey medical center to see my neurologist I always stop at Piazza Sorrento to get myself a couple of slices to go. I love their pizza it's better than anything I have near me in the Poconos. Makes my 2 hour drive home more bearable. I've also eaten in their restaurant with my kids once when they came with me and they loved to food there too. It doesn't look like much from the outside but when you go in it's beautiful. Their bar is huge with a lot to offer. Huge menu as well. You can't miss eating here or taking out. I always look forward to my drs appointment knowing I'm gonna get yummy food afterwards. Located right across from Hershey Park it's a must do if your there for the park and don't want to spend a ton of money on park food. read more

We were 10 minutes late because my IPhone took us to a residential address a block over. I called but the restaurant hung up on me. If this happens to you keep going and you will pop out on governors rd at the restaurant The gluten free menu is the best I've ever seen. I had the GF ravioli. It was SPECTACULAR!! My husband on the other hand had the eggplant Parmesan. Not GF. I could see from the minute they slapped it on the table that it was a soggy mess. This is a very mixed review. Housemade pasta was excellent! The bread was warm and delicious. Service was great but slow/sporadic on a busy Friday night, which is what we have come to expect in these times on busy weekends, so it was ok. A few things that would have been helpful to us to know in advance.... You may either sit on the restaurant side or the pizza side - you can't get pizza on the restaurant side or restaurant food on the pizza side, so you need to have a consensus with your group in advance. Also, dress is really casual on both sides, including the restaurant side. There were people wearing flip flops and cut off denim shorts on the restaurant side. So, this is not a place you would go for a fancy/nice dinner, but a more casual place where you can go as you like. read more

We had the opportunity to get a quick bite at this restaurant and the food was delicious. The wings were nice and spicy with a nice amount of sauce. The pizza was extremely good, a great valance of chicken and cheese. Now the crust was nice soft. I'm looking forward coming back to try other dishes. read more

They do a decent job with Pizza, but they are not the most welcoming, especially if you don't have a reservation - that seems to be a sin. We were heading to an event at the Giant Center - 2 hours before the game started, and stop by. At first they seem like they didn't want to serve us, but the room right by the door - for non-reservations guests - which has 10-12 tables only had 2 filled. We were a party 4 - that shouldn't be to difficult? They have all the standard Italian menu items, but all we want was a couple of pizzas. They only have one size of Pizza when eating at the restaurant - 12 inch - about 6 pieces, which was fine, we ordered 3 different types. The pizza was fine, sort of a thin crust. But the attitude of the wait staff and especially the manager was out of line. The waiter was a flake - buddy - I cant remember his name, buddy, harms, but you know - buddy. But the manager kept looking into the room with a sour face. Half way thru our meal she comes over and picks up all our water glasses and places coasters underneath the glasses - no explanation, no hows the meal, she just does it - weird. Who knows? read more

Staying a few days in Hershey to go to the park....glad we found this place! Our meals were so good tonight - the best we have had in a while! My daughter for gnocchi that was so soft and good and the rest of us andall had salads and pizza. The caprese and Caesar salads were fresh and our pizza - right on the money. Thin and just the right amount of crisp - so good! Not sure why the negative reviews - we would easily go back! We also had the crab dip which was really good - made the old school way! My friends recommended Piazza Sorrento for dinner and looking at the menu prices I was praying that it would be worth it...and it was. Starting with our server, everything was exceptional. The ambiance was more of an Italian restaurant feel than most so called Italian restaurants I've been to previously. After having a glass of wine, I ordered the pasta alla vodka. It did not take long for it to arrive and it was excellent. Such a wonderful flavor in the sauce and the pasta was good to perfection. All-in-all the meal was great, service spectacular, wine fantastic, and the after dinner Chocolate Martini was vodkalicious. Can you tell I love Vodka? Anyway, I would go back here. While the restaurant is closed until 4 PM, they sell pizza, subs and salads all day. The crew member sneezed into his open hand and then touched my two slice with the same hand. I complained to the lady who took my order. She asked if I wanted new slices so I said sure. Then the guy stared hard at me four times. He then walked to the other crew members who all stopped working and bent down to look at me. I was out of there. Thing is, he never washed his hands even after the complaint! Horrible! read more

We heard really great things about this place and decided to give it a try for a birthday dinner. We made reservations and told them it was a special birthday dinner. Upon arrival, two hostesses couldn't figure out where to seat us. Waited 5-7 minutes before a server came to our table to order drinks; meanwhile a larger party was sat right after us and a server was at their table immediately. Took another 5-7 minutes to get said drinks and order an appetizer, which was mediocre at best. Finally ordered dinner and we asked our server for suggestions. She told us the chicken Marsala was her favorite and that was the main entree we went for since it was my birthday dinner and chicken Marsala sounded amazing. She continued to hype it up as grilled chicken, served over risotto OR spaghetti with asparagus. Entree's came out... you guessed it... 25 minutes later. The restaurant was practically empty and it took them 25 minutes to make 2 entrees. Grilled chicken - 4 minutes per side AT MOST. Risotto - 4 minutes. Asparagus - 6 minutes. Now onto the best part.... The risotto was sickening disgusting. My bf has the spaghetti which was drowning in a bowl of liquid butter and spices. The chicken was most definitely NOT grilled. It was white with absolutely no grill marks on it what-so ever and tasted bland. Never in my life have I been served raw asparagus that has been "cooked". It crunched like a carrot when I tried to eat it. And last but not least, the Marsala wine sauce was bitter and the risotto has slopped up all the juice and the entire plate was just a flop. I ate 4-5 bites of the entire entree before giving up hope on it and they still charged us full price for it. Had I not complained, they would've just not cared about the quality of food or service. I was excited to try this place because I heard good things and its hard to find authentic Italian. I was a little disappointed. First of all they sat us in the Florida room which felt more like Alaska than Florida. It was COLLLD. The server was very good about adjusting it because he said we weren't the only ones freezing. But then others would adjust it again and we were on and off freezing for the entire meal. We started with drinks and appetizers. We tried the meatballs and the Prosciutto Mozzarella Crostini. They were both really good. The meatballs were smaller than I pictured and it came with 3 and some extra sauce and garlic bread. The crostini was delish but it was heavy on the sage butter and one crostini in and I was finished because of the oversaturation. The fresh bread was great! Came out warm and with butter or oil to dip. For our entrees my husband got the penne with sausage and peppers and onions. He said it was just okay. Nothing to write home about either way. I ordered the pappardelle with bolognase sauce. It was SUPER salty. The noodles were homemade but I couldn't stomach the amount of salt in the dish. The other members of my table agreed. Here's where things took another star down. I was so excited that a lot of their entrees came in half size portions. Since we had all of the appetizers this was a great option. I ordered from here and this is exactly how it was pictured in the menu. Choice of pappardelle, spaghetti, fettuccini, penne, rigatoni, or thin linguini with Marinara sauce. Substitute Bolognese for 1.50 Small 10.5 / Full 13.5 So I got the SMALL pappardelle with bolognese. Should have been $12 My bill came out and they charged me 17. I mentioned it to the waiter and he said it doesn't come in a small size. He adjusted the bill and made it out like they were doing me a favor. I wanted to show him that I wasn't off my rocker. and I showed him the menu. I don't think he got it. Turns out there's an entree Pappardelle Bolognese (House Specialty) Pappardelle pasta and our own homemade meat sauce, Bolognese style 17 And he just thought that's what I wanted. I even asked him when I was ordering the differences in size and I told him I wanted a small and he didn't say anything then... shady. Anyway he did adjust my bill. I went home rather thirsty from salt and a little sour that I was made to feel like my bill adjustment was my fault so I don't think I'll be rushing back. Fantastic food. Authentic Italian and they also have a certified gluten free kitchen. Gluten free menu has over 40 items including gluten free tiramisu. My husband had their chicken cut,etc Parmesan and spaghetti from their regular menu, and I had gluten free penne pasta with peas and lump crab meat in a Parmesan cream sauce. Both dinners were delicious! I also had their gluten free tiramisu which was out of this world fantastic. Service is great. Definitely need reservations if going for dinner on a Friday or Saturday evening. Place gets very busy (can be up to a 2 hour wait without reservations) which is a testament to how great the food and service are here. read more

We always sit at the bar and the bartenders are personable and helpful. The food is always cooked well and the cocktails are delicious! I always get salmon Caesar and this is the one place that can cook salmon correctly and not the consistency of canned tuna. Their red sauce is also pretty good, and they have the best pizza in Hershey. read more

This place is fantastic. It has two sections. The pizza/bar side and a full service Italian menu. Everything is made to order and home made. You can ask for anything to be removed if you have a picky person. The clams were fantastic. Fresh garlic and the wine sauce was great. My children were fighting over getting the last bit of my creamy sauce for their bread that came with my fried raviolis. The pastas were very flavorful and the portions are nice size.
