I have to say that this place was a pleasant suprise. We stopped here for breakfast while visiting the Lansing area. We both ordered coffee & water and then the breakfast burrito and 3 meat omelette. My husband was a little disappointed they were out of sausage gravy and couldn't order the chicken fried steak and gravy. At first our ourders were taken to the table behind us. But the waitress rectified the situation pretty quickly. The omellete had so much meat in it that my husband said it was one of the best ones he has ever had anywhere! My breakfast buritto was really good. The salsa was spicy and put the breakfast over the top with the sour cream and the crunchy hashbrowns. Our total meal, including tip was only $20. This place has outstanding staff that are ready to meet your every need. They will keep the drinks coming, ensure that your food is as you ordered it, and will even pack it up for you to go. However the price of the pizza does not meet the taste. It was $20 for a large meat pizza. The pizza lacked the toppings for the price and the pizzazz taste was not there. Not saying it was bad but nothing that I am craving to go back to soon. Others in the group said there other food was good but not great. One thing we did agree on was the service. Love this place. We've lived in Lansing 20 years and finally went here for the first time a year ago. Wish we would've tried it sooner! The menu is really big with lots of variety. We've liked or loved everything we've had. Especially love the meatball sub made with homemade meatballs. Love the French dip. The bread for both really makes it. Great pizza & calzones. Look forward to trying more things in the future! They updated nicely for covid. Plastic partitions between each booth and they've closed all of the tables in the middle of the main restaurant area. This is our Friday night "go to". Great value and quality food. The service is always perfect On the weekends they do a prime rib special and the stuffed mushrooms are a must. I have been going here since they opened and when my family came along I started them on their journey too I would say they are a 3 1/2 star restaurant, and they deserve more than a three star, so 4 it is I believe they could be a 4 1/2 star restaurant I also believe they will need to make some changes in their standards in order to hit key metrics to recoup their investment in the new "frame" and just as likely they will need to do it so there's not a disconnect between the environment and the product because that always leads to either lower prices or lower sales volume This is similar to how a crap hole restaurant with good food can't charge as much, or a nice looking place with average food has lower sales volume. In this case, the frame is nice, the food is very good to great but the service is old school bar service, not as bad as the gang on Always Sunny, but pretty mediocre unless you get lucky The move would take some changes that the owner may not want to make in either changing their waitstaff, or the near impossible task of retraining them Specifically the wait staff still serves like they are in the old environment, when their new frame is much more upscale than their old Their prices have edged up a bit over the last couple years in particular by making certain food items that were once included with a main entree, a la cart and that's to be expected but the food is so consistent that the margins could be increased further by increasing the customer service One thing that always puzzles me at most restaurant is how poorly trained the servers are. I believe they don't understand the "why" I think that management explains their own why instead of the why that matters to the server; more money working the same amount of time One of the three ways to grow a business is by having guests come in more often and this can be done passively through great service and is so easy most ignore it looking for pixie dust ideas They have some unique items that the staff never utilizes to tell the "story" as well as lock the customer in to their establishment since the customer can't get those items anywhere else locally A few that come to mind is their delicious home made cheese cake, their Ruben pizza and their Georgia Ruben sandwich. I'm sure there's more but since I'm not on the payroll I haven't given it more thought than what comes to mind when we eat there The food is always very good to great which shows that the management understands setting standards and is able to reach them, and it wouldn't surprise me if he knows what needs to be done but either doesn't want to or doesn't know how to implement that last mile of customer service that makes the owners or investors the financial return that only a well run machine can produce Either way we'll still come here until the experience doesn't meet the price, which may be sooner than later depending on how they financed their recent expansion and remodel They have a bartender that works part time that is a way cool individual, knows everyone's name and gives great service whom I believe could implement the changes needed to shore up the iffy service, especially if he had the proper tools and backing from management If you want a great meal in a good environment and don't care about service this is the place to go! read more

First off I am not a regular although I had at least 20 meals here over 20 years. I have dinned here at least a dozen times with my family, a few times with Scout members and MIANG Members. A couple of times in the basement with a military event. My wife always wants to stop here when we are in town because of the Wild Mushroom Pasta and I'm OK with that because of the Homemade Lasagna. We were both disappointed. Either they have changed the recipes of these dishes or our travel since retirement has increased our palate. Both of think our sauces are different since our last stop in early 2017 or maybe late 2016. Based on my wife's reaction to her favorite dish this is not her go to place anymore. read more

It's super hard to make a decision on the menu because everything is so dang good. The French dip, the burgers, the wings, the prime rib. Seriously everything is awesome. Came here for dinner after seeing a show at the Wharton Center. They do not take reservations but call ahead to see about a wait. If they do, they will put you on their wait list before you arrive. The place is not super big but has a decent sized bar if you need to wait. They have a huge menu that is a unique combination of Italian, Mexican and American fare. There are lots of choices that can accommodate most any palate. We got appetizers of spinach and artichoke dip, pretzel bites, and crab rolls. All were excellent. For my main course I had Lasagna which was a large portion and excellent. My one daughter got their 5 cheese macaroni and cheese with brisket. It was a large portion and she enjoyed it very much. My other daughter got a calzone with pepperoni and garlic. It was huge and she enjoyed it a lot. My wife got a mushroom pesto pasta with chicken. It was a large portion too and felt it was excellent too. All food was hot, delicious and adequately portioned. Service was friendly, helpful and excellent. The place was clean and welcoming. My husband and I decided to cheat on our usual weekend breakfast spot today. It felt disloyal, but after going to the same place for breakfast three times already this week I felt like I needed something different. We'd never been to Piazzano's before for any type of meal but there are always a ton of cars in the parking lot which made me wonder. The atmosphere is clean and cozy and the place is full of groups that I suspect are mostly regulars. It's just that kind of hometown restaurant. The breakfast menu offers a bit of everything and we ordered both sweet and savory options. The eggs and crispy hash browns were above average while the cinnamon french toast was a little too eggy for my taste. The portions are large and the prices are very affordable. We were trying to figure out if we liked everything overall more than our usual joint and we both reluctantly agreed that its just slightly better, we'd come back for breakfast, and will probably try dinner there soon. read more

Great service and good food. I recently came here with a large group (about 16), and the waitress handled our large group size with finesse. All of our food (save a few of the meals that came with a pre-salad/app) came at the same time, and she remembered which meal belonged to which guest. (This was very different than our previous night's dining experience, in which we had to basically raise our hand as the waiters called out each dish as they came out (this is actually a pet peeve of mine)). Service aside, the food was very good - no one complained, and everyone finished their meals. Fan favorites included the mac n cheese, fries, and wraps. We usually try to go different places to eat to see what is out there but this is our "go to" place. I always get the same thing (meatballs/appetizers) which is more than I can eat in one sitting. A family restaurant that is just kind of... okay. My friends and I played Tuesday trivia here for a while, but the restaurant is unfortunately not really set up to seat groups of more than 4 without smushing tables together and blocking the walkways with seats. A drawback for a trivia team, but also not all that great for the larger family groups who would seem to be this restaurant's biggest target. If you go, try to sit in a booth - many of the tables/chairs are wobbly and the long bench across one wall has a nail or something underneath that I've snagged my pants on more than once. The menu actually seems to have an impressive selection of food choices, but it's all kind of... mediocre and uninspired. The daily specials are sometimes delicious and sometimes disappointing, and the same dish can taste entirely different on different days. Service is decent, portions are huge and prices are fair. But nothing really lives up to its promise, taste-wise. The place has potential. There's a full bar, sports TVs, and a basement dining room with a private bar available for special group events. Decor is sort of lazy, dusty Italian, with lots of wood paneling and crazy murals of bustling restaurant scenes that are creepy-slash-charming. This restaurant COULD be a cozy little hole-in-the-wall favorite with some improvements, but the bottom line right now is that Piazzano's is an acceptable place to purchase food when you aren't too picky about hitting more than one circle in the quality/cost/convenience Venn diagram. Recommended: The spinach-artichoke calzone, or gamble on a daily special. Some of them live up to the restaurant's potential, some days. read more

We were having our RV serviced around the corner from Piazzano's so we decided to kill some time and eat breakfast. I had a pepperjack cheese veggie omelette and it was delicious. My boyfriend had an egg scramble and said it was delicious. Both of our dishes were the special of the day. We left and since we had to wait for hours on our RV, we decided to go back to this restaurant for lunch. That was also delicious. We shared a veggie pizza and it was great. Large, fresh chunks of veggies on a thick crust. The waitresses (Penney & Allyson) were very friendly and efficient with drink refills and anything else we needed. We will definitely go back here if we are ever in Lansing, MI again. Plenty of parking and the menu prices were reasonable. read more

Piazzano's is OK. You might miss it driving by, its just a plain white prison-like block building. It is a good place to take your grandpa for dinner. He will love it because the menu and decor come straight from his hay day. Mostly Italian menu, with sandwiches and a bit of mexican randomly slapped on. I had the club sandwich, which was unremarkable, one friend had chicken parm, which he said was "nothing special" and my other friend had a burger. It is hard to screw up a burger, but they did. It just didn't taste fresh or tasty. In my friends words "we won't be coming back here for awhile" I'll go up to 3 stars since they have a full bar. read more
