In the age of Covid you have to pay nearly 15% to dine out???? Not the same for you?? Go to Piccolo Restaurant in Huntington located on Wall Street and you too will be charged this fee. Why? This restaurant is charging 15% in order to offset its cost for dining here during Phase 2. When other restaurants are going out of their way to entice customers, who by the way, who have also been IMPACTED by the pandemic, Piccolos is looking to make a profit right off the bat???? Downfall to this place is that even with a reservation your more than likely going to wait 30 min for your table on a Saturday night. Waiting at the crowded bar is made a treat by the bartender steve. He is quick and attentive. Once you get to your table your in for a treat. My server Marvin was marvelous. Our meals were served just as we ordered and we were impressed with the quality. My husband had the duck which was crispy and delicious, and I had the gnocchi, equally amazing. I went here for the first time on a Friday night after hearing rave reviews. The wait was a little long even with a reservation but the food was very good! My short ribs and mashed potatoes were one of the best I've had and the meat was very tender. My sisters linguini and clams were great too. The only reason I didn't give 5 starts is because the dessert was just okay (crème burlee) . I have definitely had better elsewhere and the serving was really small. I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. My fiancée and I were dining here, and as we were leaving, I stopped briefly to tie my shoes. During that short moment, one of the waiters actually asked my fiancée out on a date. That was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. It made us both very uncomfortable and ruined what should have been a nice evening. Definitely would not recommend this place based on that behavior. read more

I actually won't even get into the poor service. Let's talk about the food. Complimentary mimosa for mom - Probably the worst mimosa I've ever tasted. Mom didn't even drink it and I didn't want it either. It was very bitter and warm. Burrata with jam - The burrata was ok, and the jam was ok, but it was placed on a thick cold piece of stale rock hard bread which ruined the entire dish. Cesar salad - This was ok but nothing special. Decent dressing with crunchy breadcrumbs. Herb omelette with cheese fondu - Completely dry overcooked egg with very little cheese fondu inside. The thinly sliced asparagus inside was tough and inedible. They don't know how to prepare asparagus and obviously didn't shave or break off the bottoms. They just sliced it up and threw it in the omelette as is. Mom took a few bites and then gave up. A complete waste. Pork belly eggs Benedict - The eggs were overcooked and hardly ran on the plate. The hollandaise was good but the pork belly was a tiny little sliver of poorly rendered, no color, soggy, unappetizing pork over a rock hard crumpet. The home fries weren't even home fries. They were French fries with some peppers thrown on top. Like, come on...what is this? The desserts were an Italian rainbow cookie, an old dry cinnamon roll, cheesecake, and a chocolate chip cookie bomb with ice cream. None of which were good and clearly not made in house. And if they are, they need a new pastry chef asap. Two cocktails we got were the only good thing we had. This was such a disappointment and the audacity of them charging people this kind of money for beyond sub par food is criminal. It ruined our entire Mother's Day.
