Great friendly service, old school roadside dining atmosphere (clean picnic tables under the trees), fabulous soft serve ice cream milk shakes, very good fresh cut fries(that could be improved if they were cut a little thicker). They used to only accept cash but they've recently entered the modern era and now accept card payment. The bad.... The burgers. We had bacon double cheese burgers. The patties themselves were too small, thin and overcooked. The bacon was borderline burnt. They were edible but definitely a disappointment. The upside was the nicely toasted buns and thick cut onions. I'll definitely stop back for shakes (my sweetheart says Pick-Quick is known for the blackberry shakes), and when I do I'll take a look to see what the burgers on the griddle look like. My first time going to this place, found it while driving through Tacoma with my Dad and sister. Seeing it had outdoor seating we thought it would be good for our St Bernard puppy Kimber too. I had the double cheeseburger with no relish or pickles, my sister had a single burger with cheese, and my Dad had the same thing as me. In addition, we got chili fries and regular fries to share. The fries were massive and overflowing with chili. Topped with cheese and a heaping pile of tangy onions. The only way any chili fries should come. The burger was cooked fresh to order and you just cannot beat the entire slice in onion that sits on it. They sure do onions right, here. The banana chocolate shake had the perfect blend of banana flavor and was wonderfully thick. I love this locations seating. Thank you to Yelp for directing us to Pick-Quick while visiting this area in Fife! Delicious burgers and fries! Loved that the fries were super crispy and the burgers were the perfect size. Of course my husband ordered two doubles! According to him, best burgers in Fife! They are cash only. You walk up to the takeout window to order. There is a big grass area with lots of picnic tables for you to choose from. Grab a table and you can eat there. The parking lot is also a great place to eat in your car. The ice cream milkshakes looked delicious, but we did not get a chance to try any. Maybe next time we will be able to try it if we visit the area again. The long time quality burger king is over ! They have sold the business and the burgers are much more like a slider. No longer served in a paper wrap. It's a small type envelope. Their was so much yellow ? that my wife and I were wearing it. I ordered a strawberry shake and got chocolate with a straw that was so small, no way. So,I went to Pick Quick today to get lunch for the family. I walked up to place my order and the first thing the cashier said when she saw my credit card was, "Sorry, we are cash only since 1949 (or sometime close to that). My review is limited to two menu items - fries and milkshakes. Both, superb!. The firies are "old school". Hand cut and just the right amount of grease. The servings are very generous. What makes them extra special to me is they are Five Guys style before there were five guys were even a twinkle in their dad's eyes. Now, about the service and ambiance. This is a family run burger stand and in a classic building. It screams 1950's. Wonderful!!! The place is immaculate and the grounds where you can enjoy your meal are a park-like setting. I wish my summer flowers looked so nice! In short, the food is great but, to me, the whole experience even better. You will never get that experience artificially replaced at any franchise!! Being a California transplant and an in n out snob I have to say Pick quicks is the best burger place I've ever had. The fact that this location now takes cards is even more stellar! Then owner and his momma are awesome. His employees are very kind at both locations. Any time someone mentions wanting a burger I always recommend pick quick. Honestly I only recommend pick quick. If it was between in n out and pick quick I'd say which ever was closer. Hopefully the Herron family keep the quality as high as it has been. As of last week it's still amazing.
