Smallest sand which ever for the price! For another 50 cents I could have walked down to Panera and gotten some amazing food and some friendly service vs. the cold shoulder we were given here. My daughter got a kid's meal with a turkey sandwich...she ate every crumb and washed it down with a cookie and something to drink that I can't remember... Omg, tragedy! We got chocolate chip cookies for dessert and they were delicious. Ironically, the only thing I didn't like was my pickle. It was mooshy and not crunchy like Panera or Jimmy Johns. Stopped in for sandwiches for dinner after grocery shopping on Saturday 2/13. Place wasn't too busy, no one in line. I ordered a Big Tuna and Italian sub. The guy behind the counter that night was friendly enough and quick but it would have been nice if he pulled his face mask up. His nose was not covered at all. Just hanging out there. Not a huge issue for me. I still wanted my sandwiches and he didn't appear ill and wasn't touching his nose so I could live with it. My issue came when I got home with my sandwiches. My poor wife took one bite of her Big Tuna and maybe a couple more but could not eat it due to the amount of onions in it and how large the chunks were, see attached picture. I like onions so I ate her sandwich and they were a bit much for even me. Whoever diced them should have shopped them a bit more and maybe added less all together. We joked that with onions this big and so many this should be the Big Onion and little tuna sandwich. Please wear your PPE correctly and dice your onions better. read more

The food is made with very high quality ingredients. I have never had to pick bad pieces of lettuce out of my salad. I also like the ability to customize whatever I'm ordering to my particular taste. What really strikes me about this location, however, and sets them apart from the Panera a few doors down is how incredibly polite and friendly the employees are. The person taking my order was quite unfriendly, and after I told him I didn't know the menu he sat there with his arms crossed and kept looking at me and the menu awkwardly. After deciding quickly to just go ahead and order, I got a pizza and a pick two to try. The pizza sauce is good and robust, but the crust is cracker thin and the cheese doesn't pack much of a punch. There is far better thin crust pizza in saint charles to consider this. The baja chicken was tasty, The bbq chicken sandwich was good as well(especially their sauce) but was incredibly tiny. Like a few bites and you're done tiny. I will note that the other staff seemed friendly. I did not try a salad, but they do have plenty of options Overall, I would suggest other shops if you just want pizza or a sandwich , but if you want a soup and a salad this could be a good choice read more

I loved this place. My husband an adequate turkey and bacon sandwich but my buffalo chicken sandwich was awesome! Crispy but not too crispy on the outside and great on the inside. I was not a fan of tomato soup--lots of calories and it tasted like Campbell's Soup. The chocolate chip cookie was soft but not too soft with dark chocolate chips. Amazing. Had the Italian beef sandwich for lunch and loved it! Nice and clean inside with a small area to sit out front and eat on nice days. Staff was friendly and provided excellent service. Not sure why some reviews say it's over priced. I had the full size sandwich, a drink, and left a $1 tip which made the total $10.50. I think that's a pretty average price for any sub shop and the food is much better than a subway or jimmy johns. read more

Italian beef sandwich - what a find in an unexpected location! I've been to a few different Pickleman's locations and tried things from various places on their menu but it was my first time with this offering. That said, I think I'm done sampling their menu. The beef sandwich may well be my go-to with this chain. The beef is thinly sliced and warmed in the au jus (such that it stays really moist) while the Gonnella bread and optional cheese is going through the oven to toast. Any additional toppings are added to the toasted bread and then the ingredients are married, the sandwich is cut in half and wrapped again. By this point, you've already paid and need to let the thing cool off for a minute before the first bite or you risk burning the skin off the roof of your mouth. The beef is very flavorful and the little cup of au jus has some amount of carry-over seasoning floating in it. Great flavor of oregano and other Italian seasonings combine with the juicy and moist beef plus the toasted Gonnella roll to form the best chain restaurant beef sandwich available in the STL area. Yes, Vinnie's is a bigger, better and cheaper sandwich but they're nowhere near my office. This place fills the Italian Beef void for me...but I do wish their gardinera didn't involve jalapeños. I was promised there was a deli in St. Charles that was just like Potbelly's, but I didn't believe it. I was excited to hear that a Potbelly's was opening in Creve Couer, but was there already a copy cat deli killer in our midst? It's true friends, Pickleman's is JUST LIKE POTBELLY'S. The colors, the store set up, the wall of chips, the bottled sodas, the jar of giant pickles, the bread, even the garnishes are the same. Pickleman's does offer pizza though, and has a few more sammich choices. One thing to note in particular at this location is the Dwight Shrute-esqe sandwich maker. Notice the extra flair he puts into the sandwich making. It's really like a performance, you can see him turn it on like a competition to be judged with each bread loaf that falls through the toaster. He finishes each with a flourish of the bread knife after he wraps your food in what I suspect is his signature style; wrap the sandwich once, then cut, then wrap yet again. If you are like me, and for no other reason except nostalgia for the days you 'used to live in Chicago' love Potbelly's, don't wait for it to come to town, we've already got our own franchise fix right here. read more

Pickleman's Cafe is great. It has very quickly become one of my favorite restaurants. If you like spicy food, I highly recommend you try out the chicken giardiniera pizza. Giardiniera is a mixture of pickled hot peppers and vegetables, and they load a bunch of it on top of a crispy thin crust pizza with grilled chicken. They have me hooked on the stuff. I buy a jar of the stuff when I visit, and I put it on everything at home. I've also had a few of their sandwiches. My favorite is the BBQ chicken (with giardiniera added, of course.) My wife enjoys the asiago chicken club, though I've never tried that one. The staff has been excellent each time I've been. There's a couple of employees that smile and make faces to my two year old daughter while we're in line, which makes her day. That in turn, makes me really happy, and glad to come back again and again. read more

Mrs. S and I headed over yesterday to use the coupon, despite my protests. I'm not usually a "sandwich shop" kind of guy. I enjoy a deli sandwich on occasion, but honestly I avoid them most of the time. Getting dragged to one by the wife, I usually have contempt for the place before I even walk in, but Pickleman's got me on a good day. By that, I mean I was actually in the mood for a good sammich.. Walking in the door, I was a bit disappointed to see it was basically a fancy version of Subway. That was the first impression-don't bash me yet! My second disappointment was in the lack of bread choices. White or wheat, I really would have preferred more variety, but that's only because my trips to Subway always start with the Italian Herbs bread, and I thought I couldn't live without it! My first bite into the Turkey & Bacon sandwich I ordered was enough to retreat from my earlier disappointments. The quality and flavor of the meat immediately separated Pickleman's from the Subway comparisons I had made walking in. Yes, the setup is similar, and the basic concept is the same, but these are truly two different types of shops! I truly enjoyed my sandwich, it was good, flavorful, and deceivingly filling. My wife had a grilled cheese and tomato soup, which again was very good. (I finished hers) The soup was a bit on the salty side, but otherwise pretty good. I will be keeping Pickelman's on my short list of places to go when I'm in the mood for a deli style sandwich. read more

I've also tried the Buffalo chicken, which was tasty & a little sloppy All of the subs are made fresh to order. White or wheat bread, both are great. A popular staple in my office, I tried Pickleman's from this location for the first time today. Got the BLTC which consisted of 4 slices of bacon (not the "motherload" the menu promises), provolone, two roma tomato slices, and a TON of lettuce. The bread is good...crispy, toasted, and ciabatta-esque. The bacon (as little as there was) was smoky and flavorful. Delivery was FAST (took about 25 minutes for two sandwiches and a pizza to be delivered about 7 minutes from the restaurant), and all was very fresh. Overall, a good sandwich, but at $5.99 plus delivery, I think I would have preferred a burger for more bang for the buck (read: I'm still hungry!!!) read more

Had a decent sandwich and soup here on a cold night -- I appreciated that everything was hot. That said, this place is basically Quiznos with a different name and no pepper bar. Seems almost identical, really. While eating, the staff was busy vacuum cleaning and getting ready to close up. My boss gets Pickleman's delivered to our office all the time, so I decided I needed to check it out for myself,. I went down there in person, since I needed a break from office scenery. It is located in the strip mall area off of Dierberg's on Zumbehl, next to GNC, The workers are all nice and they have a variety of sandwiches, some thin crust pizza that looks good, chips, some kids items and even a few varieties of soup. The location was very clean and was pretty spacious on the inside. It was busy but I didn't feel cramped and my food was finished quickly. I had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich (yum) and chips. They have a choice of fountain drinks or bottled cold drinks. My only suggestion to them would be maybe another side option? I went back again about a week later and had the Turkey Club Sandwich on wheat. The bread was soft, toasted and the cheese was melty. It was delicious. I will return as long as I work in the area.
