This was my very first visit and I went around 1:30 so they were really not busy. I asked the cashier about the kid's meals, specifically if they had tuna because a whole sandwich is too much food for me. She said yes, I could get the tuna in a kid's meal and told me where to order. So I went to the order station and ordered the tuna kid's meal. The guy behind the counter said that I could not get tuna in a kid's meal so I explained that I had been told otherwise. He kindly set up the bread and sent it to the sandwich maker (this took awhile-I thought it was a rather slow making..) it and he yelled over to the cashier how to charge for it. I thought the tuna was just ok but I really didn't like the chips. They kindly let me choose another flavor of chips but I didn't care for that one either. I was traveling for work and my colleague and I were craving a good sandwhich for lunch. I used Yelp to find a highly rated restaurant. When I walked in I was quite astonished since the decor and menu were basically identical to a potbellys. I dislike potbellys, but I wanted to give Pickleman's the benefit of the doubt. The turkey sandwich had too much meat on it. The salad ingredients were sparse and they did not give me the pickle that I ordered. you can always expect fast and friendly service at this Pickleman's! food is always hot and made exactly how you want it. I usually get the buffalo chicken pizza and add tomatoes to it! grilled cheese and tomato soup combo is great, too, if you're looking for something cheaper and not as filling. I've been to multiple Pickleman's locations and St. Charles location is by far the cleanest and has some of the nicest employees! I waited in a very cramped line for 35 min there was only 6 or 7 people in front of me, but they offer pizza too so if someone orders a pizza you have to wait for that person in front of you that ordered that pizza. At this restaurant you have to wait in line while you order and they make your food. Trying to be like subway. Obviously they are not. I went to have lunch at Picklemans because I had purchased a gift basket at a silent auction for the arthritis foundation. We were told we could not use the gift certificate at the Picklemans on Zumbehl even though I have used it at that location and another one at the one in Ofallon previously because the gift certificate had the Creve Cour location on the top. No where on the gift certificate does it specify to only use it at that location. I am very disappointed in how rude the manager was and just said he wouldn't accept it and since it was for a charity they would be a little more open. That I am from Saint Charles and lived here all my life, I'll be sure to tell all my friends and family the experience I had at the Picklemans Zumbehl location. read more
