After coming here a few times I started to realize how rude the employees are. I normally wouldn't give my money to a business that doesn't have great customer service but I felt like the pizza was delicious enough to where I can look over this issue. A few nights ago me and some of my friends came and ordered some pizza. All of us ordered different types of pizza slices and every single one of them did not have any sauce on it. Literally cheese and crust. Disgusting. I even took a picture of one of the slices called "potato bacon" and as you can see from the photo there's not one drop of sauce. Damn. First time in Idaho. Idaho seems great man. Been driving on and off for a few days from across the country. Was Looking for pizza in Yelp amongst the moors off Hwy 20. Nothing popped out. Then My third pie opened. Pie hole resembles a joint back home that I enjoy but hate paying the price for. Pie hole matched the vibe but for a much better price. Couldn't have been more pleased. Tried cheese, classic, cheese good, good cheese, sauce rationed well, and spicy garlic pineapple broccoli cilantro slice. really fucking good nice and spicy. Ranch is 37 cents (love the odd number so unique) but I feel like I didn't end up paying for it because we asked after, so sorry if we got free ranch, I'd come back in but only here for the night. I went here in the summer while living near the BSU campus. When we went, we were the only customers in the joint (two other pairs came and went while we were dining, but my point is we didn't have any problem getting served and seated promptly). It seems there were about six different pies to choose from, and between my wife and I we tried four different ones, including "chicken and waffles." All were good. All seemed fresh and hot and unique. I'm sorry I can't remember the specific combos I had, but remember they were good and I'd definitely come back. The atmosphere is no frills. Pizza is served on cheap paper plates, and drinks in styrofoam cups. I wish they'd use reusable ware. I know it's an extra expense and perhaps not viable for the owners, but I hope they'll consider it in the future. read more

After waiting two hours only to be delivered cold food, the last thing a customer wants to do is wait more for food that one can only hope won't be cold. That's what Pie Hole asks of customers--and without even a refund for all the trouble. It wasn't the waiting that frustrated me as much as it being cold; the box was soggy as though it had sat in the driver's car *awhile*. I had been pretty into this place but in the future I shall avoid spending my money on cold food hours after I order it. How is this place still in business? I ordered a pick up order and was told it would be ready in 20-30 minutes. I show up 40 minutes later to them confused about our online order, even though i spoke with one of the employees beforehand, and she had refused to call me because she felt too "nervous" to reach out. Very unprofessional. And the other item we ordered in our online order hadn't even been made yet when we got there. It was 3 slices of pre-made pizza. We watched them heat it up it front of us. Ordered pizza and a salad. Took 1 hour and 10 minutes to get to me. IT WAS COOOOOOLD. Service was mediocre over the phone and I got a cold pizza. As a business owner I always strive to provide the best possible customer service. This place lacks that. I felt like I was eating left over pizza from the night before. What a waste of $30. If I could give a negative star review I would. This place was horrible! Where to start, the employees all had long hair and it was not put back or in a hair net. I had at least 4 pieces of hair on each slice! It was disgusting, I have no clue how they have not been shut down. The counters, walls and floors were absolutely disgusting and looked like they hadn't been cleaned for years. The pizza was burnt and so greasy (like grease went through two paper plates and napkins). We also had to wait forever and then got skipped while we were waiting for our pizza to warm in the oven. This may be the reason it was burnt. I would not have ate there is this wasnt the only option at the time. It was absolutely disgusting and I would never recommend anyone goes there. At a wedding in Idaho and needed some late night snacks. These guys were open until 3am which really helped. When I called, the guy I was talking to was incredible nice and genuine. I don't know about you guys, but typically when I call and order a pizza, the person on the other end could care less about providing good service and typically sound rushed and even bothered when helping. But this guy, (maybe Nick or Nathan? Not 100% sure) was so kind and I want to hire him back in Cali because he really was that awesome. Not to mention, it was 12:30am and he still slayed. Another big plus, they came all the way up to my door and didn't make me meet them in the lobby which other places usually do. So huge win on the service piece, guys! Keep it up! The food was decent. Not the best pizza I've ever had, but definitely not the worst either. We got the potato bacon just to try something different. I probably wouldn't get it again. It wasn't terrible, just not my fav. Went to pie hole after a football game one night. The food is amazing and pizza is always good, but there was one employee, girl with blue hair, who was VERY rude. She snapped her hand at customers and told them to hurry up and order, then when we asked for dough balls, she told us no because it's inconvenient time to order them. Very rude employee. If you love New York style pizza then you'll love Pie Hole. There's currently three locations in Boise, the Broadway store is the best by far. This little restaurant is perfect for a quick bite and social gatherings. Walls and atmosphere is adorned with local art and the employees are always kind and engaging. I'm not from here and saw some good and bad reviews and wanted to set something straight. One guy said you can't get a couple slices for under 5 bucks and how OUTRAGEOUS that was to him and that's true it'll come to like $5.18 and that's their expensive "slice of the day" options. Cheese is 2.12 btw the slices are big. Also I got three of their specialty slices(which they had four different options I got a slice of three of them) and I can say it is some of the best pizza I've had. Real cheese(and lots of different kinds of cheese you usually don't get on pizza) not greasy, crispy crust, toppings go almost to the end, also meat is big cuts and full of original flavor not that frozen generic sausage and chicken you usually get(I also got a four meat pizza which is usually loaded with grease anywhere else...not here!) AND hand tossed. The guys were awesome that worked there, they have beer including micros, small space so plan on take out if you have a crowd. Bad reviews are either old or you're too uptight. Like the one woman complaining they only have one size pizza *facepalm* it's a small two man joint go get dominoes. P.s. But here's the catch, do everything in your power to get your hands on fresh pizza, even if that means ordering a full pie, because during the summer flies might get to the pay by the slices before you do.... This place was very unclean and had a big fly problem. They did seem to have different flavor combinations like chicken and waffle pizza... However seeing at least 8 flies all land on the slices in the glass window certainly ruined my appetite. I understand it's fly season, but then they need to shut the doors and get professional rescue: sanitary should be a high priority for any place making and selling food. The floors in the kitchen had food and flies all over the place. On top of this we went in around 1:00 and all the slices looked so old and not fresh at all. I tried to put on a happy face and not be a stick in the mud for my boyfriend and even ordered a pizza (despite seeing all the flies.... Huge milestone of bravery or stupidity for this girl) anyway I figured a fresh pizza not sitting out and going from oven to the patio would have less chance of fly landings. Here's the breakdown Of the pizza I ordered: thin crust...(I'm guessing this is what they THINK tastes like NY style pizza) sauce very bitter.. Lots of garlic peelings in each slice. I went in a few days ago to the broadway location around the time of their happy hour.. the man who was working at the front never greeted us, took him more than 10 mins to say anything to us and never seemed like he was in a hurry to help the customers. I asked if they still had a happy hour since I didn't see a sign up and he the man plaid it off like if he had no idea what I was talking about. I go to pie whole maybe ever other week so I knew they had a happy hour. This man was rude and pretended like I had no idea what I was talking about. I really want to like Pie Hole a lot. I grab a slice there somewhat frequently. Pizza is usually pretty good. Sometimes they get a little quick with the reheating and dont leave it in nearly long enough. But my real problem is with the service. It is either mediocre or just flat out bad. Last night I went in to grab a quick bite, there were several tables of people eating and three or four people working. As we were finishing our order, another couple people walked in. So we took our drinks out back and sat down on their patio. Several minutes later, some teenage gal brings us our slices and tells us, "Just for future reference, our slices are served from the counter. So make sure you stay inside to get them." Say what?! I paid $22 for some slices of pizza and a couple drinks, TIP TWENTY PERCENT, and this broad cant be bothered to walk twelve fee to set our slices on our table? I just looked at her like she was the millennial idiot so many young people are these days. Does anyone understand what actual customer service is anymore? $4.40 tip to warm up a slice of pizza, walk twelve feet and set it down. It's neither digging ditches nor rocket science little girl, I think you can manage. So on the off chance I find myself in Pei Hole wanting a slice.... NO TIP FOR YOU! read more

I am giving a 1 star, but I wish I could give this place a 0. I came to visit from Utah, and when I got to the place everyone was so unwelcoming. One worker with pink hair told us we couldn't buy more than 6 slices as a group, even though there were much more than 6 of us there, and all of us were paying separately. After we paid, we waited for a friend to use the bathroom, and the pink hair girl told the cashier to "just get them their slices so they can get out". We opened the box, and all of our slices were shoved into one tiny box, so they were all squished and unappetizing. We didn't do anything wrong, but got nothing but rude attitudes back. I hope they can resolve whatever negativity they all have with customers. Since this experience, I have heard from other people that they had similar things happen to them. The workers are just extremely rude and extremely unwelcoming. I will not be going back, and I will make sure to let people know of my experience so others won't have to go through that either. Pie hole is excellent pizza. A little divey, but that's the charm. You can either order a slice or an entire pizza, which are *ahem* yuuuuuge. We had ordered two and some garlic cheese bread, and ended up not even finishing half of each pizza. We ordered the Canadian bacon and potato pizza, which was good, but compared to the Thai chicken pizza, it was just okay. I ordered a pizza, half pepperoni, half potato bacon. They said 40 minutes; I said OK great. This was at 6:40. An hour and 10 minutes later, "our" pizza arrived. As I opened the box I noticed half the pizza was wrong. I called, at which point I was told not to touch the part of the pizza that was incorrect, and that they would have the driver bring me the correct other half. Which meant he was saying "Since you've already waited an hour and 10 minutes to eat the food you have already paid for, why not just keep waiting?" Haha NOPE, believe it or not I am hungry (hence the pizza order) so I figured hey, I'm going to eat ONE SLICE. I'm sure that a company that understands customer service could stand to sacrifice one $2 slice to apologize for their mistakes, but no. The delivery driver stands in my door holding the pizza that I've already paid for ransom. Ok, cool, here's your slice, now get off my property. So then I call William at the store. William begins arguing with me. Wow. He says "you got the pizza you wanted, what's the problem." And then yelled "you agreed to not touch the pizza, and you didnt keep your end!" Yeah William, well you agreed to deliver the correct pizza in 40 minutes, so you didn't keep your end. On either front of your "offer." He then told me he didn't have time to talk to me, that there were only two people working. Certainly not my problem, William. Not a place to order from if you're actually planning on eating in the same decade as when you order. If you are hungry, order from from somewhere else. Perhaps they can cater my 50th birthday party, then they would have 25 years to get the order correct and delivered. If they want to deliver one slice of potato bacon to my door with a sincere apology from William, I'll give them another shot and modify my rating.
