    Sicilian yummy

Cute little pizza shop in charming downtown Monrovia. You can order fresh pizzas or purchase by the slice and they'll pop it in the oven for a couple of minutes. Indoor and outdoor seating available. We chose to sit outside since it was a beautiful day, plus a little stuffy inside (but not worth knocking a star off for the stuffiness). My group of 4 purchased a total of 4 slices of pizza, 3 chocolate chip cookies, and 1 Diet Coke and the total was $29. That's cheaper than McDonald's these days, I was very impressed. Taste: Pepperoni or Plain cheese slices 10/10 (great cheese pull) Sicilian Pepperoni 9/10 Chocolate chip cookies 10/10 (dangerously delicious! So buttery and soft) Free parking around the corner :)

I came in tonight all excited to try this new pizza place in my neighborhood... what a HUGE mistake!! It was AWFUL!! We ordered 4 slices of the pepperoni pizza. The crust was dry and tasted like cardboard!! The pepperoni was greasy and tasted old! The pizza had almost no cheese... We won't return but I wish them the best of luck! Next time we will go back to our favorite pizza place and not waste our time and money on subpar food!! Gross!

New pizza spot that replaced the previous one. They have indoor and outdoor seating. You can find street parking or in one of the nearby lots. I tried the sausage and shroom. You can order whole pizza or a slice but not everything comes by the slice. It was delicious! Perfect thin crust. I will be back to try other flavors. Staff was nice. Great vibes here.

Warehouse slice of amazing pizza - so happy they've come to Monrovia!

Things I love about Pie Life Pizza - everything! The pizza is delicious - my personal favs, in order of preference, are the thick crust Sicilian pepperoni & the warehouse! I love that you can order by the slice, they have a few slice combos with a drink and or salad, you can build your own pie to sample various slices, or just a full pizza pie of your choice to eat there or bring home to the fam. I can walk in here and eat lunch or dinner and walk outta there happy and content for only $5-15 or feed my family of 4 for $35...ya know, in this economy. The service is quick. They heat the slice up and it's usually ready within less than 5 mins. The ambiance is low key, casual - warehouse style. I can't say it enough how happy I am Pie Life Pizza has arrived in Monrovia & is a lovely addition to our old town collection of businesses!

Amazing pizza either by the slice or a whole pizza. They also have a $6 kids meal that comes with salad and a drink. Plenty of seating both inside and outside plus 2 TV's. Will be back to try more pizza.

My group & I were sooo happy we happened upon this place! The pizza crust was perfectly crispy AND chewy in the right places. Flavors were spot on. We can't wait to come back and try out the rest of the pizzas.

Pepperoni and Warehouse slice... sorry I was hungry haha

I stumbled upon this place on a fated accident and initially visiting their Pasadena location because I was starving and wanted something easy, so I stopped by and so happy I did because it is so good! I am not even a pizza person and I was so impressed but also sad because I live about half hour from the Pasadena location. A week later I was in Monrovia, a town closer to my home and saw they opened a location here and I was stoked! What a stroke of luck and happy coincidence they opened another location. I came in today for lunch and I am so happy. Please support! So delicious. Wish you all abundant success in your new location.

    Meaty and Warehouse slices.

The high rating is accurate. Fresh, clean, yet fast, delicious pizza. What stands out, are the toppings. Fresh quality and a good amount. This is my go to when I'm closer to the 605 than the 57 (Fire Fresh - San Dimas). My only wish was that the ranch was better. $11.50 for two slices and a drink is unbeatable for the value.

Stoked to have Pie Life here in Monrovia near home. We frequent the Pie Life in Pasadena near work. NY Style slices are top tier. Perfectly cooked with generous toppings. Side of ranch is the perfect dip with a delicious chocolate chip cookie to finish off lunch. Pepperoni, Pepperoni Burrata, and Sausage & Peppers slices are great. Need to try the Sicilian next!

2nd! Woohoo! Having Pie Life is livin' my best life on a Friday haha! Def lived up to hype that I have heard from their Pasadena branch. Ordered the NY Pizza with extra cheese and half pep on their website but had glitchy issues with completing my order because the order won't go through if you don't choose a topping for a whole pizza (there was not an option for No Topping) even though I was ordering a half cheese half pep so ended up getting triple extra cheese which was well worth it! Possibly the best NY style pizza nearby and def better than Village Pizza in Sierra Madre. Lastly the pizza, and the crust tho! It's density and crust's crunch held up with all that cheese pull and the NY pizza fold was legit. The pizza had snap and wasn't floppy like Sengun for the Rockets who will lose to Lakers tonight (I'm calling it 1 hour before game time haha)

    Regular slice. Margherita. White.

Fantastic spot! Easily the best place in Monrovia and one of the best in SGV. Super thin and crisp. A perfect bake.

I do miss the old pizza place at this location, but the new one is a pretty delicious replacement. Love the 2 slice combo with drink for only $11.50, all day too. There's about 9 different pizzas with slices to choose from. The service is always friendly & pizza is warmed up quickly and perfectly. Lots of seating indoors & out. Been here a few times & will definitely be back again

What a creamy and flavorful pasta dish! I noticed a family owned Italian restaurant located next to…read moreSummerfield and finally found the opportunity to try it. They use the same parking lot as Summerfield so it can get busy at some times. I called in to place an order for dinner and it was super easy and convenient. I ordered their Di Pilla Special pizza and a medium Parpadelle special pasta. The total for these dishes came out to be $62. Their portions are quite large since they're a family style restaurant. They also gave us complimentary bread which tasted amazing! I will say that I felt really heavy and full after this meal so this is definitely a cheat meal type of food. Food: Parpadelle Special Pasta (9/10): The noodles are huge and thick and the sauce gets absorbed perfectly. There's mushrooms, spinach, chicken with a white sauce base. They loaded this dish up with sauce which was heavenly. I even dipped my complimentary bread in the sauce because it just tasted that good. The chicken was so soft and wasn't overcooked at all. Between a family of three, there was a perfect amount and didn't have any leftovers. Di Pilla Special Pizza (9/10): Wow, the amount of toppings? Insane. We ordered the medium size which is a 14 inch. There was pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, hamburger, and bacon. I had to go back to their menu to see what toppings there were because wow was there a load full. I thought that the mushroom and bell pepper did overpower most of the slice. We had so many slices left over because of how full each slice makes you. I had it the day after and It was still tasty. I need to come back and try their other menu options. They have so many options to choose from which gets overwhelming because everything sounds amazing!

Tonight "sniffed in" at a 3.75-star affair... PRO: -- above average dishes in general with good pasta and a nice variety of interesting dishes -- ambiance is modern casual and not stuffy -- the location is great for a walk after dinner (if evening cool enough) and you can find FREE street parking or live nearby; nostalgic architecture from homes to apartments in the area -- staff are efficient -- regular updates or reminders on your reservations (could be a pro or a con depending on your memory or personality) CON: -- you can only book online (welcome to the Tech Age), but it is easy to modify if your party size or time needs to change -- they pay about 1/3 of your parking fee which stinks for a normally affordable city for parking (if you're dropping this level of coin I shouldn't have to pay $10 or more for self-parking in Pasadena) -- look for legal street parking (especially on weekdays if you are not scared of a walk) -- prices a bit high for the overall palate effect and portion sizes -- pasta is not on a Bestia level, yet the pricing is nearly there -- the TIME CLOCK is ticking as soon as you sit down and since they are not a large dining space, they are truly on top of their reservations so you will "barely barely" have time to finish your dessert and after- dinner drink (you "may" be advised in a fashion that is neither rude nor polite) -- a bad spot for seeing friends you have not seen in a long time due to the "time clock" so find a secondary spot in advance for hanging out afterwards The REVIEW (I forgot to take a photo of the menu so I will go off memory): COCKTAILS -- my bro had a Rye whiskey cocktail (as I recall) and was a fan and an after-dinner drink; he's fairly picky for someone who finds quality bargain whiskeys as well as drinks the higher end stuff PARMESAN TRUFFLE FRIES: -- ample truffle shrapnel on top -- light on parmesan -- thicker fries and NOT crisp on the exterior -- softer interior -- light on salt -- pretty ordinary beyond the truffle shrapnel which was more of a nuisance to even try to eat since it just falls off anyway RATING = B- TRUFFLE CAVATELLI PASTA: -- thinner almost translucent sauce -- appropriate use of sauce, not overdone -- pasta texture and taste are fine but not a standout, does have al dente "chew" to it -- the clumps of Italian sausage make the dish RATING = A- BLACK SQUID INK PAPARADELLE PASTA: -- creamy -- similar pasta quality and taste RATING = B+ GRILLED OCTOPUS w/CALABRIAN CREAMY SAUCE: -- the sauce is delectable and a great companion -- very tender thicker octopus -- nice portion -- thankfully not too spicy for this GERD sufferer -- finger potatoes perfectly cooked -- colorful tomatoes -- best dish of the night for me RATING = A PROSCIUTTO PIZZA: -- legit Neapolitan pizza crust -- not over charred -- nice prosciutto taste and portion -- cheese underneath good -- I removed the greens to be safe given recent news RATING = A OLIVE OIL CAKE w/CREMA ON TOP: -- I created my own EVOO cornbread recipe, and I love olive oil cake, so I had to "sniff in". The food is delicious and the prices are appropriate given the portion sizes. Service was prompt and professional. Parking might be a challenge, though there are public lots within a block or two. We went on a Friday night and encountered heavy traffic from the local farmer's market/fair. The best item was the Beef kabob, 5 out of 5 stars. It was perfectly cooked, a very simply salt and pepper seasoning, juicy and simply divine! We got the kids meal, which came with only 4 pieces, and I'd be interested to return for the full adult portion. Also a 5-star experience was the Fried cauliflower appetizer. It had just the right amount of crispiness, without any blackening, and the garlic/parsley/lemon juice combo worked well. The juice was sucked into all the crevices, and overall it was light. I think I could have eaten two portions myself and called it a satisfying meal. I did dip in some tzatziki, which worked great too! Lastly the Chicken shawarma was a 4-star dish. Still delicious and I'd get it again, but it was slightly salty from the marinade and added sauce. I was expecting this to be wrapped up, but it was more an open-face naan with the chicken covering the top. Our server walked past our table several times (checking on multiple tables next to us and even re-setting tables next to us) and didn't even make eye contact to check on any non verbal cues.
