This is only a review on their mixed drinks. This place only sells wine. The Negroni and old fashion are both out of a bottle. Not mixed drinks. The Negroni was good, the old fashion was really bad. Let's try the wine next, like we should of in the first place. Not their phony drinks. After a few min, our server came over and told us they made the old fashion wrong. Made me a new one. Several of the higher rated restaurants were closed on Tuesday (and Monday). We're touring wineries this week so chose Pie and Vine as one of the wineries advised that they serve a nice variety of local wines. We selected their house Tempranillo (truly house as grapes are grown in their yard) and weren't disappointed. The polpettini meatball appetizer was very good and could only be better if a little bread was served alongside, as it was with our entrees. My pasta mare was good though not exceptional, as was the wild boar pasta. The dining room was bright and open with various seating options including a nice bar. It was my last year at SOU. Of course I had to come back here because it's so good and the staff is so friendly! Met up with classmates as we celebrated being up in Ashland for our last year of studies. I love their pizza! They also have a great wine list! One evening, I thought I'd treat myself before a show and just eat at the bar. When I walked in, there were four of my classmates, and I just joined them! That is something I love about Ashland. This time I had the mushroom pasta....soooooooo good!!! The interior still has that great vibe! And I would love to sit out on the patio someday, but it was just too warm! After spending over $200 on dinner, I was rushed out at 8:25pm with my entire party half way thro our dessert and glasses of wine - that we were offered *after 8pm* (closing time) - Our waiter gave NO impression, warning, or hint that we would be kicked out so rudely in the middle of food we had just been given. The host, not even our waiter, told us "The restaurant is closed, I must ask you to leave in the next five minutes." Coincidentally, our check and 35% tip had already been taken. The broccolini on the risotto was burnt, flavorless, and oily to boot. Never got the chance to let our waiter know as he did not touch the table again until everyone was finished with dinner. Four of us went here on September 11th and it was quite good. One of the two Margarita pizzas was a bit undercooked but the other was perfect. The Boar Bolognese was excellent as was the Pasta Mare. I have gone to Pie + Vine on multiple occasions and I have never been disappointed. I have tried a variety of their dishes, and while not all of them have been up my alley, I can tell they are made with quality and precision. A few notes: the boar bolognese has a strong gamey aftertaste so be sure that is something you want before getting it. The Bruschetta is the best I've ever head, with a thick balsamic reduction and very fresh burrata and tomatoes. The environment here has always been courteous and some of the best service I've had in Ashland. The ambience is nice meets dinner with friends. Amazing! Fast, friendly, fun! What a great little gem in Ashland. I love it when restaurants have alcohol free options and this place has 6 fun drinks. I tried the stone fruit. Apricot, cinnamon, and a splash of apple cider vinegar you couldn't taste really. Brilliant. Mind blown. Delicious!! Entree was great. Boar braised ravioli with ricotta and basil. Oh my this was hearty. A bit like a beef stew but with raviolis. Shredded Parmesan to top it off. It came very quickly and I proceeded to eat it all. Large portion. It was so good I couldn't stop myself. Dimly lit restaurant. Very cosy. Great for a date night as well as family friendly. Large wine list of which I could not speak for but it is an option. My husband and I have been to Pie & Vine once before, pre-pandemic, but this time we were passing through Ashland for one night on our way to northern Oregon. We decided to order take-out. We ordered lots of food because so much sounded good! Here is the quick report: Fresh Foccacia: Nice flavor. Didn't need it with all of the food we ordered, as portions are generous. Might be nice for a larger group. Zucchini Fritti: Didn't travel well in a take-out container (i.e., it became a soggy mass), BUT the flavor was still so delicious that we at it all! The aoli and pesto on the side were also delicious. The portion was larger than we expected for a starter (four people could easily share). We would definitely order this if we were dining at the restaurant and could eat it as soon as it came out. Pepperoni Pizza: Exactly what you would expect of a wood-fired pizza. Chewy crust, flavorful sauce, and just the right amount of pepperoni. Risotto: A little dry, but excellent flavor in the rice and on the roasted brussel sprouts. Lemon Cheesecake; This was made in a small mason jar. It wasn't the texture I associate with cheesecake, but it was pleasant. Wine: There are more red wines listed on the online menu that came up on the online order form. Might be worth calling in an order if you want to get something specific. Overall, Pie & Vine offers good food and pleasant service. Pie & Vine has an outdoor dining area, so that might be a nice alternative to take out. read more

My husband and I ate here this past Sunday evening on our way through Ashland. Our expectations were pretty low, but we needed to eat. We were originally going to eat on their patio but it was swarming with flies, so we switched it to go and I went back to our hotel room while my husband waited for our order. Despite the place not being busy, he waited upwards of 30 mins for our food (one pasta + one pizza). I'll admit that the pasta was very good, but the pizza was slightly soggy and not great. Overall not a terrible experience, but would keep the above in mind if you either want to a) dine on the patio or b) don't have a ton of time to sink into waiting for your food. We had reservations for later at another place but decided to get a glass of wine and appetizer, did not disappoint! Service was friendly, efficient and helpful. I was kinda disappointed about this place. I expected something mind blowing but it was still pretty good. My chicken parm tastes like Jack in the box chicken nuggets. We were not disappointed with the ambiance, wine, service (Lindsey), food and prices!! We enjoyed the grilled artichoke for our appetizer and the pasta Nicole, and linguini with clams were excellent! The focaccia bread served with our dinner was delicious and was actually baked earlier in the day. I really enjoy Pie & Vine. Cute modern restaurant with tables, booths, and a bar. There is an option for outdoor seating when it's nice out. In the winter it gets chilly inside with all the big windows so wear layers! The service is hit or miss, I guess it depends on the day. I think the quality of food is pretty consistent. Have only been a handful of times and I don't eat meat so I can't speak on any of those dishes. I really love their pizzas and the butternut squash ravioli. Excellent take out for foodies! Ordered dinner for two Monday night. This is significant as many restaurants on Main were closed. It just so happens that this gem also had fantastic food! Yahoo! We ordered linguini with clams(supberb!) and mushroom fettuccini. All excellent. Caesar salad salads accompanied our feast. The seasonings in the clam linguini was excellent. The truffle oil was just really such a clincher. I also very much enjoyed the Pollo pistou, the addition of sundried tomato was really nice and the roasted garlic was perfect. The Prosciutto pizza could have used more prosciutto... Crust in general was solid - thin (which is how we like it). Delivery took awhile, but it also took just about how long they said it would, so can't fault them there. We got 3 18 inch pizzas for 4.5 people and it was more than enough. Let me tell you that I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I ordered the Ravioli Di Zucca and was blown away! It was completely unexpected and absolutely phenomenal. The browned butter and combination of bread crumbs, Spanish almonds, and cheese with the tender ravioli was so, so good. The locally made espresso chocolate chip gelato was the perfect end to a great meal. The staff was friendly and fast and I didn't feel rushed at all. We dined twice in two days while moving our youngest into SOU. We are from Southern California where we have an abundance of excellent restaurants. We were blown away by the food and the wines. Over two days, four people (including two hungry teens!), we had the cheese board, calamari, Caesar salad, truffle pizza, Italiano pizza, grilled cheese and tomato soup special, clam "linguini" with the zoodles, the cab, the Chianti, and the super Tuscan. A bowl of soup, even on a warm day, always is one of my favorite meals. Linda and I had lunch here when it was nice enough to sit outside. I enjoyed looking out at the people walking on E. Main Street. The outdoor fire pit would be nice on a chilly day. The plant frames on the outside wall of the patio were beautiful I went back and forth on what soup I wanted. The server said the tomato soup was her favorite, I was tempted, it is one of favorite soups and I have it often. I finally decided on the crab bisque. Linda had no problem deciding on the minestrone soup. We also ordered the meat and cheese antipasti to share. We each had a glass of a red Oregon wine. The minestrone came in a huge bowl it was enough for two people. Linda could not finish it. I tasted the broth and it was good. The bisque was in a more reasonable sized bowl and I was able to easily finish every last drop. The antipasti had a nice assortment of chesses, meats, olives and meats. We could not finish this either. I took it with us and it made a nice addition to the breakfast to the breakfast the motel provided. A delightful culinary experience! We had the melon prosciutto salad, delicious! We also enjoyed the lemon chicken salad. The chicken was moist tender and full of flavor. The dressings on both salads was perfect. We ordered the margarita pizza. Nice thin crust crispy and and chewy!
