This small bakery located in an older strip mall shopping center at the corner of Gilbert Rd and Southern bakes up some delicious pies. I enjoy pies and this bakery did not disappoint. Family owned and run. Unassuming and quaint. I Purchased a cherrie pie and also sampled the lemon merengue. Well done! Cute little joint to get your pie on! We bought the Banana Creme pie for Mother's Day and made mama (the kiddos and I, the dad) really happy with her favorite pie. I've had plenty of Banana Creme pies over the years but I got to say this was perhaps the best I've ever tasted. Super fresh, flaky and the frosting was airy light, exactly how we prefer. This store just opened up just a block from my house. My son stopped in as he had been watching the construction for a while now. He brought home the most amazing slices of pie that were out of this world. A few days later he came home with more selections and it did not fail to impress. I purchased a blueberry pie. They add chopped cinnamon apples as a filler and it tastes yukky. I took the pie back and explained that I don't care for that apple flavor in pies so I picked out a triple berry and...you guessed it...filled with more chopped apples!! Why didn't she tell me that pie also had chopped apples? It's a filler bc apples are cheap but they tell you it's a "flavor enhancer". I'm wondering if this a Marie Calendars store bc they always added the chopped apple filler to their pies, and the crust tastes exactly the same.
