Cheap eats in a "deserted" desert (2 of 2)…read more I happened to be in this neighborhood right at around lunchtime. I had just gotten one of those nicely priced haircuts at the student salon of the nearby beauty school. I had to drive past this In-N-Out, being on 111 and roughly at the border of Rancho Mirage and Palm Desert. Unlike many others, I don't fawn over In-N-Out out. I will periodically go into one and eat if I don't have a more specific idea of where I want to eat, so I turned the car into their driveway and looked for a parking spot in their shopping center lot. You have to give them credit for always knowing how to incorporate a drive-through and make the overall scheme work fairly well. I was planning to eat inside and enjoy their air conditioning! I stuck to their easy to order combinations and got a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink. The cheeseburger and fries were fairly good, but not stellar. They feature Coca-Cola products, but also offer a pink lemonade in both regular and lite form. I've had it before and it's very tasty, so that's what I helped myself to. All of the employees I interacted with were very helpful. I was surprised to find the store that busy in the off-season such that it took a little bit of time to receive one's order, but it was not excessive. Given its being in this nicer area, I found the clientele to be fairly diverse yet well-mannered. The interior of the store is definitely clean, and there's always an employee nearby who is cleaning tables as well as stocking condiments and other dining room items. I was sort of clueless about In-N-Out growing up in SoCal, even though I did know it was there. I just stuck to Bob's Big Boy, Norm's, and the fast food majors for eating on the go. Of all places, the first In-N-Out at which I ate was at the Gold Country's Auburn, California location. I was dealing a client situation in that area right off I-80 along with a coworker who came from Vietnam and took some good-natured razzing from us for being a Berkeley grad ... actually the only one in the office. She suggested it, so I steered the car in the direction of that Auburn In-N-Out and, lo and behold, I finally became acquainted with this outfit. As such, I will now periodically eat at In-N-Out and this Rancho Mirage location is definitely recommended.

This location (store #8088) did a complete 180 for us on our recent visit and that is 99.9999% because of Andrea. From the moment we arrived, we were plesantly greeted and provided with top-notch service. Our order was taken quickly, prepared with care and cooked to perfection (dough baked crisp and toppings evenly distributed so they did not overwhelm the thin crust). Andrea's dedication is genuine and it shows. It's a rare experience connecting with someone who has a passion for what they do, and on the customer side, we greatly appreciated it. In contrast, our previous visit a few months prior (details of which we shared briefly) was such that we'd decided to skip visiting this location. Thanks to Andrea, Pieology Rancho Mirage is back on our list of go-to places for a quick lunch or movie-night munch. read more

Not only is the pizza great, but the variety of everything imaginable from crusts to topping is outstanding ... and fresh! But the main reason I'm writing is to praise one of the hardest working employees I've seen in years. Her name is AMANDA and not only was she taking everyone's order fast and efficiently, she was charged with operating the machine that forms the pizza dough, she also started each pizza out with the sauce of your choice and an initial cheese topping(s). Sorry Californians but you don't know good pizza. It's a clean, new place. Subway sandwich style. It's pretty much fast food pizza, it's decent but I was expecting more flavor in the sauce and a bit more quality. Also, crust is paper thin. It's essentially Blaze pizza which is a 1 star for me so 2 stars for this place is fair. Would I go back again? Probably. Would I be excited to go? Not really. Just left this location and I was very pleased with online ordering team was very helpful and ensured my order was accurate before I left(store manager Beto). We make it a point to stop here at least once every time we visit the desert. One day I had my heart set on a calzone which they don't make and the person at the counter recommended I let her create my pizza. Robust sauce, sausage, pepperoni, mozzarella and lots of ricotta cheese. I folded my Pizza in half and Voila! My calzone craving was satisfied. Love their pies. I have Celiac disease and they always take my food allergy seriously. They change gloves, are aware of cross contamination and make a serious effort to keep me safe. When I tried to order another meal because my lasagna was such a small portion served in a soup bowl the General Manager told me I had to pay for the lasagna anyway but I could order an additional meal - talk about poor management! When you're celebrating or looking forward to a night out, you expect a restaurant to at least get the basics right. Giuseppe's failed on nearly every level. Because of the repeated reservation mistakes, poor service, and ongoing mishandling of our meal, what should have been an enjoyable evening was completely ruined. I cannot recommend this restaurant based on my experience, and I sincerely hope management takes a hard look at how reservations are handled and how customers are treated. We certainly won't be returning.

We got seated in about 20 in the event area due to having a large party. The food today was excellent. I saw a Monday special for meatball with spaghetti for 2 with a salad, drink and spumoni for only $25. What a deal. The rest of my party enjoyed all their orders, and in fact my mother in law swears she had the best shrimp salad here. Overall the food has always been good here, but gave 4 stars due to the service not as great with the slower than usual service. Plus the guy (who seemed pretty new) was cleaning a table right next to us and banging his cleaning rag on the seating.

Called in advance to place an order for 2 pizzas said it'll be ready in 25 min. Great. I arrived to the location after 25 minutes. The guy tells me what order? Under what name? What did the person order? Like are you kidding me????? I get to the place my food isint ready, he is barely preparing it and doesn't answer my question when it will be ready he was pressuring me to pay. Until I said no, and he said to leave if I didn't want to wait the 20 minutes for him to get my pizza and that it wasn't a problem that he would eat it all. Very upsetting. This place is TRASH.
