I haven't been to this Pieology location but have been many times to the now gone location in La Quinta. We are sooo sad it's gone. I guess I should have written a review earlier. We loved the choices of toppings and the crispy crust. Cooked perfectly. We had been fans of Blaze but had changed to big time fans of the LQ branch of Pieology. After practice we let our kids pick where to eat, and it used to always be In-N-Out. The last couple weeks though, they've picked Pieology and it's honestly because of Andrea. I ordered delivery from this store about every 3 weeks. If everything lines up, it's a good pizza at a good price. However, this last time showed me that service is not available in real time and doesn't seem to look at issues, when they get it. I got a text that my order was cancelled and to call the store for information. (DoorDash message) I called the store 8 times, no answer and no voicemail. I wrote the customer service email in the app, explaining the issue with delivery and messages. I began to call the store more, letting it ring only one or two times, and a girl picked up. She told me my order was ready and had been waiting to be picked up. When I explained I ordered it in the app as delivery, she told me they do not deliver and to call the company that deliver was arranged with. Great, they said call the store, the store says call them. Then, an hour after it was to be delivered, I ordered Thai. Great, soon after, I got a new text that Uber is picking up the pizza and it would still be delivered. Well over an hour after it was made, it arrived. I don't mind microwaving something to warm it up, but the pizza was soggy. Ugh.... Undercooked dough, so I put it in the over to finish cooking it. The icing on the cake was that I got an email reply. I had shared the story of the late and soggy pizza. The reply simply stated that they see my pizza was delivered after my review was done and they hope I'll return for more great food. I doubt it. The measure of a company comes when there are errors and shortcomings. Every company has them, it's normal. How it's handled sets them apart. This time, the service was as cold as the pizza. read more

Ordered a XL pizza last night at Pieology, sadly it was overcooked. Not burnt but more than well done. I also used the men's restroom, no light working in the hallway and the urinal was covered over with a hefty bag. Worst pizza I have ever had. They were out of red sauce so I tried the pesto sauce, which wasn't bad. The crust was burnt and there was so much black burnt powder on the crust it was all over my hands. It was like charcoal. I couldn't eat the pizza , it tasted so burnt. The only reason this isn't a one star review is because in the past we have had good food and service. But last night there were only two people working and it wasn't that busy but when you have employees who don't know what they're doing it takes you an hour to wait to order, then order, and then have to ask for your order when it's sitting on the pizza counter already boxed up and ready. Then you arrive home with the sauce for your pizza has just been dumped on the pizza, to which my husband ate 2 slices of his and then couldn't eat the rest because it was too saucy and the cheese bread we got had so much of the burnt marks from their wood oven that it just didn't taste good. So needless to say we won't be back to pieology for a while, if we even go back. But hey at least the restraint was clean. That's a plus. read more

The pizza lady made me the wrong order when she put bbq sauce all over my kids pepperoni pizza. She then raised her voice at me when I asked for paper plates after asking her to make a new pizza, but it was already 8:30. I was just trying to ask her for a new pizza and commented that my children were hungry. Everyone has a bad day and she was probably just trying to get out of there at a reasonable hour. All I know is I didn't raise my voice and an employee raised their voice at me and I was just trying to make sure my kids got fed . I'm sure the service was better earlier in the day when they weren't slammed at 8:30 at night unexpectedly. Maybe they need more employees? read more

What can I say. Pieology is my favorite fast create your own pizza restaurant. The selection of sauces, meats and toppings is expansive allowing one to be creative, or conservative or wild with the flavors and toppings one chooses. My server was top notch. He anticipated what I would want and this is my first time at this location. There is plenty of varied seating inside and out. I almost got the make your own calzone which is basically the same price, but I like the pizzas here. I will have to try the calzone next time. If you like pizza and have never been to a Pieology, you have to give them a try. read more

Wow! We were extremely impressed with the service here. I visited with a friend last month and I assure you we didn't regret our decision. Since it was our first visit, Andrea took the time to explain the different crust options and servings before we ordered. The food was prepared beautifully and was fresh out of the oven in no time. Andrea checked in more than once to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. Andrea, you were great! You were very personable, knowledgeable and really made our visit an extra special one. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and our time at this establishment. Also, two thumbs up for having a mini Coca-Cola Freestyle machine. We couldn't have been more excited about this option. We stopped coming here for a while, but we've come back! Better than ever. They went back to the small delicious pepperonis. Giving you a normal amount of cheese without having to beg and pay extra for it. They do offer extra for a fee, but it's not necessary in my opinion. Great customer service and the crust is tasty! It's seems the quality has returned and so have we! So my pizza came out un edible and black. The person that was the shift leader would not remake my pizza and was quite rude as if I was trying to steal a free pizza from her. It took my husband asking her to call her manager for them to finally after 20 minutes remake my pizza . They had shut their oven off to clean it so now the pizza didn't even cook. What change! We went to this Pieology several months ago and didn't think we'd return. The staff was profoundly incompetent, clueless about dietary restrictions and had to remake our pizza three times -- twice dropped on the floor before getting it into the oven and once for not following gluten-free procedures -- and the final result was mediocre. We gave it one more try last night and had a great meal. Andrea and Manuel were professional, knowledgeable and made a wonderful pizza. Andrea went out of her way to show how the oven was arranged to prevent cross-contamination with regular pizzas -- a must for those of us with Celiac Disease. They were both so pleasant and friendly. Assuming they're indicative of Peiology Rancho Mirage's new staff, we'll be happy and frequent customers. Kudos to Pieology for recognizing a problem and solving it! read more
