Took a quick trip to Staten Island to give a visiting friend the ferry experience, and we stopped by this Italian restaurant for lunch. The interior was comfy with a classic old school feel. I ordered the Pan Seared Salmon, which was served with potatoes and broccoli, along with a squiggle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. This came with a choice, and I went with French Fries, even though had I known the dish was already coming with potatoes, I would have gone with the Pasta. The Salmon was oh so tender, flaky, and slightly crispy. Potatoes and broccoli were both fresh, well seasoned, with a bit of a crunch. Olive oil and vinegar added to the deliciousness of the dish. Steak Fries were addicting, and full of pure potato taste. Service was solid. Our waiter was welcoming and made sure we were taken care of though out our meal. Prices were decent. Since I'm not in the area often, I probably won't return.

Amazing pie! And for $11 it's excellent

Great deal that they have on week days- large pie for $11! It's super delicious and you can't stop eating it. Pie is super thin so it's very good for a diet. It's our place to - go.

Royal Pier Pizza but they forgot the mushrooms

5/27 UPDATE: I placed another order for delivery today and I just don't know what the deal is with this place and forgetting ingredients on their pizzas. I placed a similar order as last time, a calamari spinach pie and a royal pier but instead of a 10" royal, I got a 16". They managed to remember to include mushrooms but forgot the damn peppers this time. Are they ever going to get it right? ORIGINAL REVIEW: Ordered two pizzas for delivery. The Calamari Spinach pie was unique and delicious! The Royal Pier pie was also great but I took a star off because mushrooms were forgotten and I was a little disappointed since the description included it. I would order it again though and hope they'll remember to add it in the next time.

First off food was quite tasty. I went with the Yelp recommendations and ordered a slice of arugula as well as a slice of calamari pizza. I got there when they opened, so the food didn't come out until noon, which was an hour later. I had a beer while I waited, so that made it okay. The ambiance has a diner/bar feel to it. Overall it was a welcoming Staten Island experience.

Visiting from out of town and was craving some Italian. Checked out Pier 76. Was disappointed 100%! Pasta was overcooked, sauces were under seasoned, and menu was outdated. Crab cakes on the menu but not available, only 4 beers on tap, 2 wine selections, and fruit flies flying around your food. The poor server felt so bad because he kept saying, "sorry we don't have that.", or, "sorry that's not correct". You shouldn't have to put him on the front lines because ownership fails to do their part. He is a great guy and super sweet, too bad his management doesn't have his back and makes him serve half a** food. Not much ambiance if we're being honest but I hope your server finds a better place or better team to work with. To top it off there's a 4% credit card charge even if you use debit. Unfortunately there's nowhere this is posted.

I must say I had the crispiest most delicious calamari I have ever eaten at this restaurant. AMAZING!! The waiter worked nonstop to take care of the needs of our group of around 20 people. There seemed to be a very long wait for our main course, but everyone was satisfied with their choices. My chicken parm was thinly sliced and expertly breaded the way I like it and served with penne pasta. If I ever find myself in this area I will definitely stop in. Worth the trip.

We ordered pizzas from here while day drinking at Flagship Brewery. I would stack this pizza against any pizza spot across any of the NYC boroughs any day! Pizza was absolutely delicious. It's a very thin crust (à la Scarr's, Rubirosa, or New Haven style), but has a bit more give and flop to it. The toppings and pepperoni were bomb, crust/dough was perfect, sauce/cheese ratio on point. I can't speak to what it's like to dine-in here, but I do know this is some top tier pizza - people are seriously sleeping on Staten Island pizza! Can't wait to come back and eat at the actual restaurant.

Holy pizza batman! Sicilian pizza at it's best. We ordered a couple of pints, bartender poured pitchers...all good. No problem with extra beer. Ordered the calamari and a 14in sicilian pepperoni pizza. Calamari came out piping hot. He said the calamari just came from the fish market. You could taste the freshness and it was super tender. Pizza was top 5 of my all time faves. I eat a lot of different pizza and am very picky. This place had a great crust, tasty sauce, and a great chew to the pie. I'd fly to NY just to eat this pizza!

    Butternut Squash Ravioli

Ordered a $17 butternut squash ravioli, looked horrible and tasted worse. Took one bite and threw it in the garbage. I also ordered a chicken parm hero but they gave me meatball, which wasn't good either. The pizza here is hit or miss, but food from the kitchen is inedible.

Had Cheese Pizza (10 Inch) with eggplant and mushrooms! The best! Great staff and atmosphere.

Great food service and ambience. Will definitely go back. Staff was very friendly. If you're ever on Staten island this place is a must!

I thought the sauce was quite nice, with a good balance of sweet to acidic. The dough was thinner than I expected, so I experienced significant flop when I pulled out a slice to eat. If you prefer your pizza to be able to hold its shape when folded, I would suggest allowing the pizza to cool down a little before eating. The MOR pie was surprisingly good-- the onions added some sweetness and crunch while the ricotta helped keep the pizza from becoming too heavy. The classic plain pie is also excellent, with a good amount of cheese and a well-baked undercarriage. Overall, an excellent pizza-- the crowds did not lie. I would love to return to try their garbage or a salute pie, along with a cup of Ralph's Italian ice from across the street (I'm told this is the elite combo). PS- Pies only, no slices. It has a casual vibe, but still feels like a proper restaurant, which makes it perfect for anything from a quick bite to a relaxed sit down meal. It's a small spot, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation if you plan to dine in. I've tried their signature coal oven pizza, chicken parmigiana, penne vodka, and the flatbread. Everything was absolutely delicious. You can also order drinks, not just soda or juice, which adds to the overall experience. Street parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it. I was so caught up with enjoying the food that I barely took any photos, and that just says it all. I'll definitely be back and add more pictures next time.

There's of course falafel to the east, garantita in Algeria, and panisse in France (or socca in a similar vein). Sicilian panelle is Italy's counterpart, and the version at Ungaro is an excellent example of it. The panelle comes served with a healthy serving of ricotta on a seeded bun. It has a relatively mild, filling flavor that lets you fully enjoy the chickpea fritters themselves. They also have a potato croquette sandwich on the menu - a distant cousin of the Vada pav I plan to try next time. The half vodka pizza we tried was good, with high-quality mozzarella and a decadent sauce. The pie itself had a nice chewiness to it - if I had any suggestions, perhaps next time they could go a bit easier on the quantity of the sauce.

Schlepping all the way out to Staten Island for this pizza was a risk I decided to take, and it paid off. The restaurant is close by the Staten Island Railway, and inside feels like a true Italian pizzeria, but not like one you would see in Brooklyn. This one is more high quality, and it shows in their pizza. The pizza is phenomenal. Outstanding. I got two pies, one red and one white, for contrast and both are worthy of terrific merits. El Naso, the red pie, is beautiful in color and taste. The porky sausage and the hot soppresata add a nice flavor to the pie, the crispy crust, it was all lining up nicely to be a great pie. I am happy I went with my gut and got this. For my white pie suggestion, I asked my server, Leslie (more on her in a moment), what to get. She suggested El Pizzaiolo. Like the red pie, it tastes gorgeous thanks to the silky and luxurious truffle oil. The crimini mushrooms and Italian sausage accentuate it beautifully and the Parmesan reggiano cheese provides a sharp, salty note to the pie. It rounds the whole thing out nicely. Leslie is one of the reasons I enjoyed my experience. At first I thought she was just a tease with her giggly and youthful demeanor, but after talking to her I found something more deeper and meaningful. There is a depth of intelligence that she has but a naïveté that needs to be cracked before her. The fact that tips mean nothing to her speak volumes about who she is. I really wanted to give her something significant to take home with her, but fun conversation and the fact she is mentioned here will be enough for now for this attractive, lissome soul. Since both pies filled me up nicely, I had to pass on dessert. But I promised that down the line I will be back because the pizza is just so darn good. Leslie, thank you for the lovely experience and I hope someone sees my compliment and gives you a little extra in your next paycheck. You deserve it. Like this pizzeria well deserving of a five star review.
