Happened to try their cake and egg sandwiches. LOVE IT! I think they make good egg sandwiches. The taste of the egg sandwich is the closest taste I had in Japan. The sandwiches don't have many sauces like the American style. So you can actually taste the freshness of the eggs held by two slices of toast. Their tin can cakes are delicious. everything is in a good balance of taste. I ordered the round cakes from them twice, the first time was black sesame, family and I loved it. the second time was strawberries cake but for some reason, the cake doesn't hold up, it collapsed right when we took off the plastic sheet around the cake. It was a Mother's day celebration cake, so it was a little bit of shame to see it with my in-law. I hope that was just one time that happened. Definitely returning for more! They have a light and delectable Oreo cake, housed in a cool aluminum can that's easy to eat right there or take away. Their cold brew coffee is pretty good. The decor is simple and clean. A total of 6 tables: 5 small tables for 2, and 1 bigger table for 3 or 4. Free wifi available. Calm music playing. Restroom (code required): Clean overall? I got the Tamagoyaki and the eggs were clearly burned (brown). Why wouldn't you do the eggs over knowing you screwed them up? I'm not the kind of person who sends food back. Perhaps you could smell that on me. 2/5 Husband got the Okonomiyaki -- can you please include that bonito flakes are generously sprinkled all over this thing because not everyone enjoys cat food on their sandwiches. Apparently they were a gnarly addition and not at all necessary. Without the fish food, the sandwich may have been good. 2/5 The tiramisu was good. Since my mother makes the best tiramisu in the world, I'm a bit of an authority on the subject. 4/5 Might be back but y'all should take a page out of Konbi's playbook and make fluffy eggs, not burnt ones. I've booked mark this this for a while and finally was in Pasadena to try it out. I got the matcha mango and it was nice. Very creamy and my first time trying this combo. I was going to visit a friend so I decided to buy them some of the cakes in the tin can. Very cute and different. I got the black sesame seed cake. Look, I love Asian desserts bc they aren't as sweet BUT this cake was not sweet at all. So, image eating a cake that has no sweetness to it. Kind of weird for me. So for almost $9 for a 3" cake in a tin... meh. read more

Pillow Talk is a clear improvement over the liquid nitrogen ice cream that was here before. Now this new store has a cafe vibe and serves cute mini cakes and some pastries and drinks. We already had lunch, but we're craving something more. Today we selected the Pink Lover and Grape Earl Grey. These are served in metal tins, with 3-4 layers overall. The Pink Lover had a lemon cake base, a disc of raspberry jam, a mousse cheese cake, and a light frosting topped with whole raspberries. This was the sweater of two. The Grape Earl Grey had a chocolate cake base, a layer of grapes in purple sauce, a bergamot creme later, with a thin chocolate frosting on top. Much lighter, softer flavors, more enjoyed by an Asian palate. Dessert prices are high, worth the classiness, but not a frequent splurge. read more

Matcha desserts are usually a hit or miss for me cause the matcha is usually too bitter or too light. Pillow Talk's version strikes a great balance in this area. One downside with the matcha being the star is that the yuzu cream was easily overshadowed. Also tried Black Sesame and thought it was good as well. If I could make a suggestion, it'd be for a wider selection for tea. I was looking for something darker and simple but the flavors available were non-caffeine minty/citrus flavors. read more

I've been here a couple times and I really like the dirty matcha latte with almond milk! Their coffee is strong which is really nice it wakes me up!!! So far I've tried the dirty matcha latte, tiramisu latte, and iced vanilla latte. Then also had the egg heaven sandwich and the raspberry dessert. As I said their coffee is really strong which I like I don't get it too sweet their sandwich was really good as well. The raspberry dessert was awesome!!! You have to try all the layers in one bite! It's a really cozy place, clean, and the service is really good! I'll be back to try more desert soon! read more

first heard about pillow talk at my friends daughters birthday. she was handing out the mango cake (which i honestly thought was a runny egg yolk, its so pretty!) and it was DELICIOUS. had to come here myself to try the other flavors. i placed an order in advance and everything was set except the drinks which they made fresh while i was there. I tried the sesame latte and was pleased :D note that you are paying a little more for the "look". the packaging is impeccable although i wish i could figure out a way to repurpose the tins so they don't just go in the trash. street parking but its pasadena so it might be hard to find. read more

I usually don't like to leave bad reviews, but I was annoyed that they lacked professionalism, so here I go. I ordered via Yelp 4 desserts, picked it up, but when I was almost home, I realized they only gave me 2 out of 4. I had to drive back all the way to the store (parking is not easy on Lake), and the cashier told me they ran out desserts and therefore they did not give me the remaining 2. I understand you can run out of food and I also understand that sometimes the app does not reflect which items they ran out. BUT IT SHOULD BE A COMMON COURTESY TO COMMUNICATE TO THE CUSTOMER YOU ARE NOT GIVING THEM THE WHOLE ORDER! How can they give you half the food you ordered and let you walk out without telling you that you are only getting half of my order? A good communication is what sets a good business apart from the rest! I know it is only $40 worth of dessert, but as a customer, I deserve a little common courtesy here! The GrubHub did contact me to refund the money for the 2 items I never received after I returned home for the second time. I hope to owner realizes this review is not about the money/refund. Very cute place! Theyre desserts sell out quick so get there before 3! I got a iced tiramisu, ive never seen anything like it. Their lavender latte was great. I love how their drinks are too sweet and they bring out the drink to you directly. I also ordered a scone and it was great! If you order the desserts you can also take home the tin container. The egg sandwiches were hot and fresh. The bread was soft and the eggs were nicely prepared. I ordered 3 of their egg sandwiches and all of them were good but flat. They needed a bit of salt. I took them to go and my friends and I ate them on the run. If we'd been home we would have sprinkled some salt and pepper on them. Or sriracha. The dirty sesame latte was tasty. It was creamy and the ingredients were well-balanced. The sesames added texture and were a bit difficult to deal with but not bad. They were too small to chew up but they definitely got stuck in your mouth. Nonetheless, it was a good concoction. The matcha with mango was too powdery. Not to my liking but I am picky about matcha. The place is small but there are a few tables. People were sitting inside and enjoying their orders. Staff was friendly and nice. We didn't try their pillow desserts but wish we had. read more

Stopped by later in the day, it was empty to I had the entire place to myself. The staff was friendly and attentive, I got to look over the menu I was hungry so I focused on the sandwiches and drinks, did not try any desserts. I ordered Ice Tiramisu, and the Egg Heaven sandwich. Right off the bat I feel like I over payed for a drink and an egg sandwich, my total came out to $17 but it's ok I don't mind the price if the food is good. First off the box this sandwich comes in is pretty impressive they go the extra step on presentation by having these cute little boxes for the food. The Ice Tiramisu was ok, kind of bland, tasted like iced coffee with some Coco powder sprinkled in. The egg sandwich I was not impressed with, it needed a little something extra. We stopped by here for a quick lunch and got the egg heaven sando. Overall, it was pretty good! The bread is toasted instead of the pillowy soft white bread in this dish in Japan, but it was still tasty overall! It wasn't the most flavorful but had a beautiful presentation and was still satisfying! We didn't try any of the desserts this time but everything looked and smelled so good that we definitely want to come back eventually to try the sweets! read more

Met up here with a few HS friends for a mini catchup session. It's a pretty small cafe next to TPumps. Didn't get to try their lattes since I wanted to sleep at a decent hour that night. The sparkling lemonade was more sparkling than lemonade; my friends mistook it for water but it was fizzy and refreshing and good enough for me. The egg part of the egg heaven sandwich was delicious and would've been perfect if the bread was slightly softer and fluffier. If you're looking for an aesthetic yet simple eating experience in LA this is it chief. I am a huge fan of Japanese style sandwiches and this is one of the only places you can go to get one. As of now they primarily focus on the egg being their primary ingredient but I hope that they will expand and add more options to the menu such as the katsu sandwich. The cakes are pretty good too. I came in here today and got the salted oreo cream cocoa cake to go (which was $7). Honestly a little pricey but the taste of the cake was pretty delicious. The sweetness wasn't overwhelming and the cake was soft. The container it came in was super cute though and also reusable! My only problem is that for $7 I would prefer more of the cocoa cake and not as much of the cream. If it had more cake then it would've been perfect. read more

Overhyped. I got the kinako tin cake, which was dry and fairly bland. I couldn't taste the chestnut or chocolate. Definitely not worth $8. I thought the service was odd as well, though it might have just been an off day for the cashier. I only ordered the cake and expected her to hand it to me from the display. Instead, I awkwardly waited around while she took another customer's order and proceeded to start on the long queue of sandwich orders. Not wanting to wait a long time, I asked if I could have my cake now. The cashier seemed confused and had already forgotten my order even though I'd been standing by the counter the whole time. Their cakes are sooooo delicious! They're super delicate and it's like eating cloud! We got the kinako chestnut cake and the iced honey oat latte. The cake was super delicate and fluffy and light. You can definitely taste the oats in the latte and the coffee was very aromatic. Street parking or just park at the Macy's parking lot a block away and get some shopping done too. read more

Very quaint and cute cafe located in Pasadena with drinks, sando and desserts. They serve 4 different types of sando and. We opted for the egg heaven and Okonomiyaki Sandwich. The bread is light and fluffy and the ingredients are fresh and flavorful. Definitely on the lighter side than the sando I've had with the katsu. What got us here was the desserts. Cute cakes placed in tin cans and although they are pricer they are worth it for the try. We got the chestnut and earl grey. Delivery and take out only. The toasted bread was filled to capacity with shredded chicken. Green sauce was added and the flavor was complete! A great value. I enjoyed this sandwich for two meals....both hot and cold! The cucumber salad and the garlic fries were as expected, with the cucumber salad providing a bright clean flavor. I would rate Loli Farms as a great experience. The space is small, but there's a decent amount of seating available. The staff was friendly, which made the visit pleasant. I ordered the Egg Heaven sandwich, and it pretty much hit the spot! A friend first brought me to try out this place and then this has become my go to shop for dessert. I have to say this place is more unique than other dessert places in SG area. They don't have 100 selections but all their items have good qualities. I specially love their Tiramisu, but I guess it was selling so well that it was sold out a few times I went, so I tried out other options. Over price place with bland boring food. They charge 10 bucks for an egg salad sandwich. It was an ok sandwich, not great by any means. BUT... because they cut it into thirds, cut the crust off and put it in a box, the think they can charge $10 for it. I didn't like that they put a bunch of full ice cubes in it instead of blending them into the beverage directly, and the red bean also added more grittiness than necessary to an already gritty beverage. The red bean in the parfait, however, was a very welcomed addition and arguably one of my favorite ingredients next to the hojicha. We walked by this spot multiple times throughout the day on our way to different destinations and it seems to have steady, but not insane foot traffic, so don't worry about having to wait in a long queue. Not too sweet, earthy from the matcha and they have oat milk which was good cause I can't handle lactose anymore The mushroom empanada was a little on the small side but the flavor was really good. Was a mixture of buttery, herby and slightly sweet along with the sauteed mushrooms made for a winning combo. The coconut pandan was poorly my favorite thing. Also slightly smaller than I'm used to, the bread was pillowy soft and the pandan cream on top with the sweet coconut was pretty amazing. Will definitely come back to try other stuff!

The donut itself was a bit dry but the glaze on top overall saved the donut. I know gluten free treats are often drier than normal so my expectations weren't too high. This is a cute little spot to sit down and chat with friends. The inside is super clean and the silverware gave a nice afternoon tea feel. A nice cold brew with a slightly sweet top was quite refreshing. The Nutella Mocha Latte was also pretty good, and I'm glad they were able to adjust the sweetness to 50%, which I thought was perfect and not too sweet. Overall, a nice place in Arcadia to get your morning started. Parking - You can park in the 24 Hour Fitness lot, or there was plenty of street parking in the morning.
