Always good and fun atmosphere . Love to order pizza and go sit outside and listen to music or people watch

On our most recent visit decided to try a new option the Southern Style Deep Dish (Deep dish pizza baked and served in a cast iron skillet, a Southern take on Chicago style, with a crisp edge and hearty layers of pepperoni, Italian sausage, smoked bacon, and mozzarella, topped with our house marinara) and fortunately my son convinced me to get a large (16") basic Pepperoni Pizza (hand tossed dough, house marinara, mozzarella, and pepperoni) as well. I say fortunately because when he got home with the pizzas after picking them up for take out, I was shocked at how small the Southern Style Deep Dish ended up being. Essentially it was the size of the old personal pan pizzas from Pizza Hut. While unsure what a "southern take" on a Chicago style might mean, I did not expect the soupy mess of toppings in a bread bowl, which is what we received. There was nothing wrong with the taste and there were ample protein toppings, just not enough cheese to bind it all together. Since my wife was not home for dinner, we decided to save her a "slice" to try later. It sitting overnight and being reheated greatly improved the consistency. What usually makes Chicago Style successful is more cheese than you usually have on a hand tossed or tavern style and in some cases a top layer of dough to really make it into a "pie". The taste of the toppings has never been an issue for me (with the exception of the "Lazy River - crawfish ettoufee, beer braised sweet peppers, charred red onion and mozzarella). Overall my take is unless you are going to order some of their more unique options such as my favorite "Gator Bait" (marinara, mozzarella, alligator sausage, roasted chicken, jalapeño peppers, and drizzled with creole creme) there are plenty of other better places for your pizza cravings. My son is also a fan of their Margherita pizza. For me it will likely be a good long while before suggesting a visit or pick up again. read more

Happy with the friendliness and expediency of service, here. The menu is also excellent, providing many unique topping combinations for pizza lovers to try. In fact, it was a challenge to decide on only one pizza to order because there were several that we wanted to taste. We did decide on the Gator Bait, a spicy pizza with alligator sausage, raw jalapeños, and a creole sauce. It was absolutely delicious. Pinchgut redeemed themselves from my last visit! I'm so happy bc it hit the spot for me on a Friday night. I ordered a supreme pizza ( well done). They sent me a text when my order was ready. The staff was friendly enough. My pizza was cooked to my liking and so good!!!! The vibe is pretty basic with bar and regular table seating and there's a patio. So glad my pizza was much better this time around. Unfortunately, they didn't have the best beer menu. read more

I was in town on business and wandered in last night and was blown away by how good everything was. I sat at the bar and had the attention of the entire staff and they were excellent! I started with the meatballs, which were wonderful, not as hot as I would like them to be, but the flavors were incredible. Then I had the steak, arugula, goat cheese pizza with balsamic glacé drizzle and it was awesome! And the Yangling on draft was a Perfect compliment! We've been here several times since they've opened, but this past visit was not a pleasant experience. We got here in time to take advantage of their happy hour specials, or so we thought. Their website listed it as going on till 6, but then the cashier informed us it was only until 5. We were going to just get a pizza then, and no appetizer or salad, but then the manager came over and said she'd make an exemption this time. She did want to know what site had their happy hour "wrong", and I showed her it was their own website, and she said she'd make sure that was changed. The food came out and both the pizza and the cheese sticks were burnt, and the salad was wrong. We might give them another chance down the road, but it will be a while, I think. read more

I've been here a few times, and this place has gone downhill since they opened. On a recent visit, we can during the stated happy hour time frame, only to be told it ended at 5, not 6, as shown on their website. We showed them this, and the manager said she would make a one time exception for this error, but was pretty annoyed that we had to call out their mistake. I ordered my salad without onion... and it came with onion. The pizza and cheese sticks were charred and had a bad after taste. Won't come here again. read more

Little Caesar's is more flavorful and cheaper than this place. Looking at the photos they advertise I was so excited and looking forward to trying them out. As you can see one pizza looks delicious and the one I was served just looks sad. I wish I took a pic of my husbands pizza. Literal clumps of guacamole all over it. It just looked so not appetizing unlike the photos they advertise. It's obvious no care is put into presentation or flavor at all. How can a taco pizza have no flavor??? This was our second visit here after coming here with a group when they first opened a few years ago. They appear to solved some of the issues we had from our earlier visit. We had table service this time and it was a Sunday around 11:15AM. When we came before, we ordered at the counter. Orders got lost. Pizzas were not as ordered. It was tragic. This time we had three different pizzas, a plain old pepperoni, a Piggy Back and a Gator Bait. All were really good especially the alligator sausage on the Gator Bait. We especially thought the crust was good and not burned. Having some extra sauce to dip the "heels" into was great. We enjoyed our time and we all commented we should go there more often. We love Pinchgut! Always great pizza, buffalo knots, and great draft beer selection. They also have amazing house made ranch.

We decided to get pizza tonight. Man we made a mistake with choosing this place. I gave it two stars because of the Buffalo knots and garlic cheese bread, as well as the fresh dough. The pizzas were not anything to write home about. They didn't make the Margherita pizza correctly. It didn't have any Roma tomatoes, hardly any mozzarella, just a little chopped up basil, and lots of red sauce. We added ham but that didn't matter, it was just chopped up ham. The ratio of toppings to dough was off. The crust made up half the pizza. Overall, very disappointing. The gator bait pizza was missing the Creole cream. The Buffalo knots and garlic cheese bread are very good though. The ranch for the Buffalo knots is like a garlic ranch. I doubt I'll go there again but it was nice to try it. read more

The food was good, but the service was horrible. First time there, I walk in and stand at the order station. Zero acknowledgment of my existence, so I finally ask the guy washing pitchers in front of me what I need to do to order, and he rudely tells me he will get to me when he gets to me. Not cool, but I'm starving, so I order. Wait outside, and when I get the text my pie is ready, I head back inside to the pickup station. But nobody is there. So I stand around while other staff are doing things and completely ignoring me. I finally have to ask someone who looks like maybe a waitress, and she cops the biggest attitude as she get me my pit, that I've already paid for, but is now cold. The entitlement of the employees here is STRONG. Do not come if you expect southern hospitality. read more

We visited with our family of 5 on a mid week day at 4pm. It was not busy at all and the employees were super friendly! We ordered a 16inch cheese pizza for the kids and a 16inch spicy Cajun dressing, Jalepeno and alligator sausage pizza for us. Both were delicious! My husband had a beer and I had a cherry limeade so we were both happy. The atmosphere was so cool with a nautical rustic boat theme and my kids loved the complimentary arcade games. We tried this place for the first time tonight with my step son, who loves pizza. Unfortunately, it didn't really pass his test. The crust is a bit lacking for our tastes. I realize everyone has different preferences, but it seemed to not have much flavor and was a bit on the chewy side. We also tried the s'mores calzone, which was good, but again, the crust seemed to miss the mark. The service was quick and friendly, which was nice. It seemed that there were several families and groups there when we visited. It's a great place to go if you have a group and want to feed a crowd, children included. read more

The name of this pizza place is kind of off putting. Location is nice, I love Ferus so it's convenient. The atmosphere is casual and laid back. Lots of tvs on the wall and a bar. We ordered two pizzas, a supreme style and the chicken pesto, both in the largest size. And honestly, they were just ok. Decent pizza, nothing to write home about. The price was the same; not great, not bad. Just meh. My husband and I shared one and my parents shared the other. I ate what I wanted, he ate what he wanted, and we still had maybe two slices left for lunch for him the next day. Overall just a very blasé experience. I don't know that I would go out of my way to eat here, but if I'm in the area or I'm with friends who want to eat there I wouldn't protest per say. read more

Great little pizza place. Has some unique options to try or just build your own. We came at 4pm on a Wednesday so it was not very busy at all. Cool atmosphere and our kids enjoyed the free arcade style games after they ate. It's a little pricey but what isn't these days. Great tasting food, had to stop myself from continuing. We shared a Gator Bait pizza, a little spicy but if you like jalapeños level of spicy, this is a great option. Kids had a cheese pizza. Is it the best pizza? Not even close. Ordered spin dip too but they were out so no luck there. It's sustenance, and the atmosphere is good; hence the 2 stars. Pinchgut is always our family's go-to for pizza. You can't beat their crust! Staff is always friendly, there's never a wait, and there's always plenty of seating. I would recommend the margarita pizza or the Thai pizza. We got the cinnamon knots this time, but didn't love them. The cinnamon sugar doesn't stick to the dough, needs to be brushed with butter or something. Nonetheless, we'll be back! read more

The pizza is fine, as long as you force them to give you enough toppings. They're very stingy. But the worst thing about the place is the lack of service. It's a very poorly run restaurant and it starts with the manager. Just walked in to eat, no one took our order at the counter, but the manager is standing 10 feet away talking to her boyfriend across the bar. This was my first time coming to pinchgut. We ordered a typical pepperoni pizza. The pizza was good, crust was nice and cheese and pepperoni was also good. Nothing over the top but still good. The negative here was from the draft beer. Upon receiving my draft, i noticed the glass dirty after drinking a sip a few times. It had a small piece tomato skin on top and pepper down the side I couldn't see. They apologized but still unacceptable in my opinion. read more

Traveling through on our way home to GA from TX. Stopped at Pinchgut Pies for dinner, taking at 25min detour to try out the unique pizzas. I'm a huge weird pizza fan and the first photo I saw on Yelp was a crawfish etouffee pizza and I was intrigued. The area is a neat new entertainment area. We had the Gator Bait and it was unique and delicious! The jalapenos are fresh not pickled which was delightful. We are folks who enjoy heat with our meals so it was perfect. The chicken dried out which was disappointing. The larger pieces were better so maybe if they kept them big it would overall be better. The alligator sausage was yummy. What made the pizza great was the creole crema - they need to sell that in a bottle to take home! The crust was perfect - flavor was neutral enough to let the toppings sing, but flavorful enough to make eating the crust delightful. All in all, well worth our 25min detour to get home. read more

Disappointed. Was really looking forward to this place but sub par at best. Didn't deliver beer to table after poured. Not a big deal, but need more guidance rather than just here's a number and sit wherever you want. We sat outside right next to the back door and they couldn't find the table, but when I went to up to ask about the beers, they were just sitting under the tap area. Then took almost 35 minutes to get two 10' pizzas and the place was not overwhelmed or packed out by any means. One of the pizzas did not have enough sauce on it, so asked for ranch just to dip. They charge a dollar for ranch? Ferus gives it out for free and they're right next door from our past experience. No, we did not go that route, but charging that much for ranch seems ridiculous. read more

One very disappointed new customer. Came from Hoover for a nice pizza lunch and to enjoy the St. Patrick's Day festivities. Got ready to order off the lunch menu and I was told lunch menu was only good on weekdays. I pointed out that I didn't say that on the menu. Then I was told oh yeah it's not good today because of the festivities outside. But I could come back tomorrow on "Sunday". None of this interaction was kind or polite. Which is so unfortunate as I was really looking forward to trying something new in this community. I asked for the manager, but was told Randall wasn't there today. We ordered a supreme pizza and asked for extra crispy crust which they said was possible. Unfortunately the pizza was doughy and slightly raw. The topping were sparse on some parts of the pizza. This "authentic" pizza was 16" of nothing special. The crust was tough, the cheese and toppings were spread over the center, out to about 12". The outside 4" was bare. This was our first visit, and probably our last. This was an online to-go order. When I walked in to pick up our order, I encountered 3 employees that didn't even acknowledge my presence. No welcome, no nothing. Finally, a girl behind the register asked for my name and retrieved our pizza, but somehow, did not know if I had paid or not. After standing there for about 2 or 3 minutes (while the pizza was getting cold), she asked if I had paid. Since I paid online, I said yes. She finally released the pizza into my custody. Very average pizza with a very average staff. I hope you have better luck here than we did. read more
