I ordered my food prior to arriving which I thought was a great feature. Also love they send a lot of discounts when you sign up for their program! The food arrived quick and was very satisfying. I don't get the salads often but I've been missing out. The Caesar salad was great and large portion size. The service I did received from food pick up was great. What can be said about this place? It lacks a warm, comforting atmosphere, helpful service, and a working ice machine, plus flickering lights in the dining area. Questionable aspects now include fast service (when ordering a bagel with cream cheese), ease of self-ordering (if skipping a drink), and the ability to get a beverage (if avoiding ice in tea or the one soda that's unavailable)--though I will note it remains clean. Wow. What happened to Panera? This use to be one of my favorite places to grab a nice fresh lunch. Not anymore. I got a pick two meal. A cup of broccoli cheddar soup and a chicken Caesar salad. The croutons in the salad are no longer made from their baguettes. Instead they are more like something you'd purchase premade in a bag from Walmart. The soup was fine. The portions seemed much smaller and there just isn't the value that their use to be. Especially with the quality in food gone way down. The service was fast. What I like about Panera Bread is they have a consistent menu that offer healthier food choices depending on what you're getting. Placing your order at the drive thru is a breeze, but it does take a while for your food to be ready, but I don't mind waiting as long as I'm getting my food made fresh. The only thing that I'd tried was there bbq chicken salad which is so good and I always get the full size salad which I have plenty of food leftover. We had come here a few times recently and not had any issues. However, our most recent visit, was disastrous, and we probably won't be back. We ordered online to have the curbside delivery. I arrived about 5 minutes before the order was supposed to be ready. After waiting 10 minutes, I started calling the store. No one answered after calling repeatedly (4-5 times). It had been 20 minutes at this point. I walked inside. No one was at the front register either. I walked to the 'to-go bins' where the food was stored, waiting for someone to take it outside. Ours was there, and no one had noticed. I grabbed the food and asked the people in the kitchen area if they were delivering curbside anymore. They said they didn't know there was any food left. No one had bothered looking outside or noticing the online app said someone was waiting on their food. No one ever offered an apology. This kind of customer service is not good, esp when someone is making sure to frequent your business to keep it going. My past Panera experiences have been at the UAB student center. This was my second time ordering at my local Panera and what a disaster it was.... I ordered online and asked for Rapid pickup via curbside. The instructions were to park in the designated spot, tap "I'm here" on the app, and the food would be out. So I followed the instructions and my food never came. After 10 minutes, I called the store. No one answered. I called again. And again. And again. And again. That's 5 times if you're keeping track, and not once did they answer the phone. So 20 minutes after I checked in, I walked into the store. My food was sitting on the counter... cold. I got the attention of a worker and said "are you not doing curbside tonight?". He said he thought they had taken care of everything. Super disappointed. I called their corporate office and after being on hold for one hour and 35 minutes a representative finally answered the call. 95 minutes y'all. Worst Panera I've been to. I ordered two full salads and they looked like half salads. I asked if the portions have changed and was told that is the full size. For $10 a salad it should be full. He did give me another bowl of romaine lettuce. When I go to any other Panera I get the full size and it is double the size of what I was given. I love Panera!! This place is a go-to for comfort food!! Being vegetarian, they have so many Plant-Based options which is rare. I love to get the Strawberry caprese salad, and the soups are amazing. I also love the Mac n cheese. You can't go wrong!! Also stop in for breakfast and try there bagels for breakfast, there to die for!! Stopped in the Trussville Panero's, clean restaurant always. ordered the creamy chicken & rice soup and half steak and cheese sandwich , my guest had the chicken flatbread pizza and broccoli cheddar soup in a bread bowl. My food was really good, the soup was so hot and creamy on a really really cold day. my guest got a whole flat bread pizza but was only suppose to get the half with the soup so it was a lot. Also it has some type of sauce on top that she wasnt very fond of. I got the charged lemonade. This is a new location in Trussville so it was very crowded when we visited. I love Panera so I think every location is good. This one is small and the line was long, however they have kiosks where you can order for yourself so we did not have to wait at all. Once we ordered, our food was ready as fast as any other Panera. Our sandwiches were great and I really liked my soup too. Quality was up to snuff. There were plenty of staff who were coming around cleaning up and seeing if you needed anything. So it was a very enjoyable experience. They seem to be well on their way to being a solid business. read more

So this is my first time here and they are extremely busy. They move rather quickly when preparing the food. The sandwiches we ordered were very hot and seem to be completely fresh. The cuatomer service was great as well. The man at the pick up window was ver nice and helpful. Once your order is ready, you go to the window and pick it up and the man is extremely helpful when helping you get your food. Hey I just wanted they are racist pricks. So my sick mom , my son and myself went through the driveway and placed an ordered for two drugs combos, 2 lemonades and a flatbread pizza. The pizza was fine but the lemonade was watered down. I was crunched for time so I let that lemonade situation go. Long story short once I got to work and ate my soup there wasn't any soup and my mom didn't have any either it was all broth maybe to scoops of meat noodles etc! I called and asked could they replace my full meal except the pizza for my inconvenience. Ordered delivery this morning. They shorted us a soufflé. Apparently it was delivered by door dash, when we called the manager said, "well you don't need it today do you?" This is my second visit to this Panera Bread location. The atmosphere is relaxing, clean and a great place for a quick lunch or a sit down with friends. I got the pick two option, with loaded potato soup and the spicy thai salad. You also get the option of chips, apple or a baguette. My food arrived quickly and it was very fresh and enjoyable. The drink options are also nice, coke products, many tea options ( I like the passion green tea) with coffee options as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch and experience... I am so excited to have Panera Bread in Trussville finally. The setup is very different from any others I have been in but I really like it. We have been 4 times since opening and have used the rapid checkout 2 of those times. We really like it during busy times and will try ordering on the app next time too! The service is always excellent and they stay well stocked. Other locations are always out of my breakfast souffle by 9am but not here.
