My husband and I found Pineapple Sol on Instagram and were drooling over their desserts, so we knew we needed to have them cater our desserts for our wedding! We inquired and got a very quick response! We worked with Aleena, and she made it so incredibly easy for us! She was very responsive and accommodating, she sent over all of our options , including photos of each dessert, and allowed us to tweak what we wanted! we decided to go with a little cake for us to cut in to and then do a dessert grazing table for guests! The vanilla mascarpone sounded like a great idea but just did not quite mesh with the dish. It was a distraction. My husband ordered the club and it was just ok. The bread to filling ratio was off. And the chicken was inconsistent. One half was thin and the other half was twice the thickness. The idea is cute and the menu sounds good in theory. I went with two other moms for brunch on Sunday around 11 a.m. The food is good, the atmosphere is hip and the location is nice. The downside is they don't have a hostess therefor you are have to find your own table. Since this restaurant is popular there are a lot of people waiting for tables and no organization. I saw teenagers swipe a table from a pregnant lady. Either be prepared to fight for a table or go during a less busy time. I ordered the morning tostadas and lavender latte-- both I would get again. From the menu--TUNA PANINI Fresh tuna salad, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella grilled in-between two slices of fresh sourdough. What I received was 2 slices of bread, barely toasted, spread with tuna salad & mounds of mozzarella melted, sliced tomatoes, not cherry tomatoes. I expected a panini--bread with nice grill marks on both sides. Flavor was good. Accompanying wilted salad was a handful of mixed spring greens with sliced cherry tomatoes (ah, that's where they went!), and no salad dressing. The sandwich was more like what a friend would make if you dropped by her home unexpectedly. People beside us were served & didn't get what they ordered; wait staff comment was they were out of it!! If you're looking for a cute and quick brunch spot, check out this place. I visited this place for Sunday brunch with my husband and really enjoyed it. Staff kept the line moving quickly, we found a nice seat inside (chilly day, but there was a lot of seating outside) and had our orders to us within 5 minutes. 50 minute wait time for food is normal here. Longest wait for food ever. Only go if you have at least an hour and a half allotted to ordering and eating. We waited 53 minutes from the time we ordered to the time we got our food. These where things like a chicken wrap and a grilled cheese. When we asked and employee if this was normal we were told yes it was. The amount of tables is limited so the amount of time for food is extremely confusing. Foods ok. Place is adorable. The kitchen lag time is bringing this place down though and I will be shocked if it's open a year from now. read more

I was visiting from Austin to see my parents and sis and dropped by to get a quick to-go-order after I left whole foods. A breakfast sandwhich, breakfast burrito, and 3 pastries = 20 min. wait. Wow. So I ordered and left looking around and came back 30 min. later. Long counter service line and no way to check on my order which I thought I could see on the counter...5 full min. go by before I can flag a server to check, but it's missing the pastries. I was directed to wait on same counter service person--of course, they made me wait in line all over so 15 min later after their screwed up to-go order I finally get to ask what's up. They added the pastries, but not a clue from anyone there regarding service...I mean none! NEVER would this happen in TX and it's like the 3rd time in as many visits it's happened at different places in Cary. Got to my parents place--the sandwich was a SALT explosion--no balance in this cooking--and my Dad flipped at seeing a green tortilla--which should have been in the description. The pastries were all good and the burrito ate well even if the spinach tortilla was missing from the description. Very disappointing visit though. While I didn't eat here, the atmosphere and vibe was nice, so I had to bump up to 3 stars from 1. Overpriced and not very good. I got the iced coffee flights and grilled cheese sandwich. The cheese in the sandwich wasn't even melted all the way. It tasted bad. The iced coffees were no more than 3 ounces each and it was over $15. Super overpriced. Not only that but the folks that work there ended up cleaning the table while my sister and I were still sitting there and accidentally sprayed their cleaner on me. Why would you clean a table while we're still sitting there? Just ask us first before you just go ahead and start spraying that stuff everywhere. Let me start by saying that people seem to like this place and it had a pretty steady flow of local customers while we were there. Unfortunately it was not my "cup of tea" for several reasons. One- the service model of ordering at the counter (totally a preference thing). Two- the woman's restroom being out of order. Three-The food wasn't great. Four-higher prices than necessary. Five-pretty uncomfortable seating (especially if you aren't a stick figure). The food was overall pretty bland, with the best part really being the fries. It did not taste like any of their items were made in house, but rather pre-packaged. They actually served a piece of key lime cake STILL FROZEN! The most shocking part about that was the comment that the cake was made that morning but their refrigerator runs cold. I call total BS on that. It was frozen damn near solid. Nope. If I were 110 pounds and didn't care so much about the taste of the food or the sturdiness of the furniture I might go here for a cute little lunch / brunch outing or maybe a coffee and dessert date (ask for something thawed out). The girls that work there act like everything that is asked of them is the most difficult thing they have ever had to do. Imagine just three or four girls working there like they are forced to be there. All of them acted confused. They waited 20 minutes before bussing a table and acted like they didn't know how to. we ordered the coffee flight which was a very popular item. they said it would be fourty minutes because they have to wait for clean cups to come through when people finish dining there. We said that was okay. 40 minutes pass, a person who came in long after us got a coffee flight right away. I went up to ask one of the servers where ours was. They had completely thrown away our ticket. They said they will "make it now". TEN MINUTES PASS AND ANOTHER FLIGHT IS SERVED RIGHT NEXT TO US! it was madness. we asked for silverware for our food ($60 for two people in a cafe, mind you. and it took an hour to be served) they said they "need to wash more and don't have any". they got us silverware after we finished eating. their "silverware packets" was just one fork. that's it. We spent a ton of money on food and coffee for bad service, dry food, and coffee that wasn't worth drinking after waiting an hour. read more

I arranged for a mid-morning gathering of about 15 at Pineapple Sol. I contacted the manager about one month ahead to make sure the store could handle a group of that size. She agreed, and asked that I notify her one week prior to the event with a final count so that sufficient staffing was available, which I did via email. When we arrived, only one person was there to work the counter, and one in the kitchen. Neither workers were aware of our group reservation. No setup had been done, as far as tables reserved/set aside. There were some customers seated around the shop. I immediately contacted the manager who blamed the staff for not showing up. Our group bussed the empty tables and rearranged the tables. The customers voluntarily moved so that we could put tables together. Eventually another staffer showed up. It took a while to get through the ordering process. And most of us were very satisfied with the food they ordered. About a third ordered from the menu, the rest pastries or just coffee. At one point there was a 20 minute wait for coffee!! The staff did a great job given the circumstances - I hold the manager responsible for the failure of preparation. I've eaten brunch here now three times and I'm not sure it's worth the hassle. It's very busy, which I'm fine with, but my problem is the arm wrestling and jockeying you have to do to find somewhere to sit. There seems to be way less tables than there should be. Compared with the last time I was here, even less. Not sure why that is. The breezy outside area is perfect. Seems like there is space for a a lot more. Staff is friendly and food is good. Sanitation score is a 93 which is also pretty bad considering how lenient that scoring system is. 50/50 chance we'll be back. read more
