Ordered pork chow mien and got chicken chow mien. It was ok so I ate part of it . I was billed for the park chow mien and asked the waitress to charge me the chicken chow mien price. She went to the cook and came back saying what I had was pork. I told her to have him look at my plate it was chicken!! I still ended up paying for pork.. This place is not good. Don't let people tell your otherwise. The first time I went it all tasted the same and it took forever to get our food. I told myself I wouldn't ever go back. The most recent time I went I wanted to give it a second chance. It's took 45 min for our food to come out. Our waitress was nice but that doesn't make up for the poor quality of food and the amount of time it took. I don't recommend this place to anyone. My guy and I decided on Chinese and he suggested this place as he had always liked the food there. He doesn't like it anymore. I don't either. The food was not tasty, edible but not tasty. Food there USED to be really good then recently they changed ownership after 30+ years and since the food is terrible they changed a bunch of stuff , rice, chow mein an it's just not the same it did not change in a good way forsure and the new owners act like people don't exist . This is one of those restaurants that was once spectacular, but has unfortunately lost a lot in the quality department as time has gone on. The last time I ate there with my mom and brother for lunch, everything was no hotter than room temperature, some things bordering on totally cold. Like all of their lunch menu had been precooked and it was all waiting for you. The egg flower soup was watery and bland. It required copious amounts of salt just to get it down. I used to love their sweet and sour chicken, because it was moist and fresh, not old or dried up. No such luck these days. The service is ok. There's no real problems with it, but it's certainly nothing to rave about either. The waitress definitely doesn't go above and beyond to be helpful. Love Ping's every time! My favorite is the Singapore Noodles. My husband gets the General Tso's chicken and garlic chicken almost every time, which I also love. We often share Combo Lo Mein for all the meat and veggies choices in a flavorful soy-based sauce. The staff are friendly and the food is made to order and comes out pretty quick. Every time I have had to go to Corvallis or Albany since I moved to Oregon, I have come here to eat lunch or dinner on the way in or out. That's been often. my husband had a job in Corvallis for a year in the middle of our marriage and he even ate here without me a few times, and he never does that. I know it's not AWESOME Chinese. I think it's pretty good though. We like the char sui bao, the bbq pork, the potstickers, the sesame chicken, and chicken with broccoli... oh and the egg foo young. Update - wow this place has gone down hill. Start with the heavy floral cleaner smell to the doughy potstickers - gross! Ate here for lunch today. Witnessed one of the servers treat another customer rudely. Glad the gentleman confronted her on her behavior. The potstickers were made with THICK dough and were pretty tasteless. The dipping sauce was presented in to go packets. My lunch was a combo - sweet and sour pork, sesame chicken and chow mein. The sesame chicken was served dry with red sauce and mustard on the side. Great food, great place, but the middle aged white female server is absolutely terrible. Last time it took her 45minutes to get us our check, when there were only 4-5 other tables that had patrons. This go around we have been sitting for 43minutes, no refill on water or tea. Food is still not here and we have been acknowledged just once. We are about to walk out and go find food elsewhere. She needs to stop standing around talking for excessive durations with a table and start being more aware of what's going on. Again, everything about this place is amazing. We have been taking out food monthly from Pings since we moved to the area two years ago. Never had a problem with timeframes or quality. The past two times we have issues with both. I called the order in at 5:42 and was told it would be 35 minutes. Fine. I got there and watched people who came in after me walk away with their orders after waiting only a few minutes. Okay, they are bus, yet WTH? I asked them to check on it at 6:39. Still not read. Finally at 6:42, a full hour after after I ordered they handed me the order. Got it home 10 minutes later and the Pot Stickers and Char Siu Bau were cold, like they sat around for 20 minutes, as I'm sure they did. We first found Ping's when we visited Albany some 10+ years ago. The combo included a wonderful appetizer, Honey Garlic Chicken Wings. Every thing was good but we couldn't stop talking about that chicken. Now we live in town our family's favorite is the Honey Garlic Chicken (same taste but a nice upgrade from the wings we remembered). We usually eat family style and each pick a dish. Someday we'll learn to get two plates of the Honey Garlic. The portions are large so we always go home with a ton of food... but the Honey Garlic Chicken never makes it home. read more

A friend recently took me to dinner here because it had always been really good... But - they have had a change of ownership, and certainly a bad change in quality of food! Potsticker app: 6 COLD served with a sticky plastic packet of hot oil/vinegar (like they give with takeout with Safeway Chinese food!) that we couldn't even open - not my idea of "dipping sauce". Main course: combo - deep fried shrimp, chicken chow mein, sweet & sour pork - Shrimp and pork were encased in a really thick coating, fried very dark, leaving the paltry innards grossly overcooked (tiny, cocktail-sized dried out shrimp & dry tough pork). Chow mein was mostly just bland been sprouts with a few pale particles of chicken... The entire meal was horrid! The waitress was trying, but she was new and we couldn't fault her certainly for the lousy food! She should have brought the full and uneaten plate to the attention of her manager, though... There was no offer of adjustment of the bill, even after an honest response for the automatic inquiry at the register "Was everything OK?" - answer: absolutely not! I have lived in the Corvallis area for over 20 years and sadly have never been to this restaurant before today. We as a family, have had a very rough week, and needed to enjoy a meal together after a heavy afternoon. This place didn't disappoint, it was actual a much needed pleasant surprise. Beautiful open atmosphere inside, where we had our own area, where we got to enjoy peace and family time. Our waitress Suzette, was experienced! She not only knew the menu and but made some amazing suggestions, and even though she was busy, anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask. Talk about superb service! The food itself was delicious, had great portions, and we had leftovers to enjoy through the next couple days. We will definitely be back, it's hard to find good food AND great service. Decided to try Ping's instead of our usual Chinese restaurant and we're we sorry. It was the worst Chinese food we have ever had in our lives. We got an appetizer that had fried Won Ton, bbq pork and a spring roll it was not good I have no idea what was in that spring roll, the pork had gray pieces and I can fry wonton wrappers at home. We were hopeful the dinner would be better but we were sorely disappointed the food was not fresh, I have never had fried rice that was brown. The noodles were dense and had awful seasoning, the sweet and sour chicken was like none I've ever seen with a fried chicken breast, coating falling off and the sweet and sour sauce was just terrible. We sent the food back and asked for the check and they did not even offer to discount it until I asked then they only took $18 off of our $48 bill. I have been going here pretty much since they branched out from Bing's in Lebanon and their food has been good a couple learning curves but yesterday we did take out as haven't had any since all the Covid and I was so disappointed. After reading some of these reviews, I was a little hesitant about this place. We were joining some friends and had reserved the back room for a group of 21. The food was excellent, and the service was more than satisfactory. Our waitress was very considerate, helpful, and patient. I was also a little apprehensive because I am severely gluten- intolerant. The waitress asked me that their soy sauce was gluten- free and they could make almost any meal gluten free. I was very happy to enjoy my whole meal with no ill effects whatsoever! Here's why: the place is nice, and big and you can sit in the bar area (we went a couple times during the World Series), the service is good and fast, and it's nice to order Chinese food and have draft beer in front of the tv. Tried this place today to celebrate my husbands birthday, what a mistake that was. We were seated promptly, served pretty quickly with attentive staff, but what seriously lacked was good food. However, I can say the only thing that we enjoyed were the potstickers. The sweet and sour shrimp was in a orange/ lemon flavor sauce, the chow mein consisted of bean sprouts, celery and some type of meat with a crisp crouton thing. The pork fried rice was bland, dry and tasted like it came out of a box. Finally, The General Tso chicken was drenched in sauce which made the whole plate look soupy and sweet, when this dish should of had some spice. I have eaten there many times over the years, and the food has steadily gone down hill. My granddaughter loves Chinese food so we called in an order to go. I held the bag, as my granddaughter drove us home. When i picked up the bag to go in the house, it looked like i had had diarrhea all over my lap, and the car. They put the small boxes of gravy (that was supposed to be large) in the bottom of the bag, they were squashed by the heavier dinners on top. When i called to complain, she tried to blame it on our driving. Im not quite sure how our driving could possibly smash the boxes, she finally conceded that it couldn't, she said she would replace the gravy, so we had to drive all the back across town. It took an hour to get our food, from the time we sat down to leaving. We wouldn't see our waitress for 20 minutes at a time. And we felt hurried when we wanted to take our time and left looking for a server when we wanted to leave and had wanted to leave for a good 10 to 15 minutes. Without a doubt my favorite Chinese food place anywhere in Oregon. A perfectly pleasant location and family/business friendly in design, pings offers a plethora of Chinese dishes at extremely low prices. I've taken friends and family out to Ping's and payed less than $20 for 2 people plenty of times while still taking home left overs and feeling completely full. The service is friendly and the tables have always been clean and cleared waiting for you to sit down, while the food is always hot and plentiful. No matter what you order from the combination plates, you will always get a lot of food, most of which come with a soup appetizer. Out of all of the Chinese restaurants around Albany, I feel that Ping's Garden is the highest quality. They may even deliver, but to be honest I've never asked. I've eaten here many times, and the service gets slower and slower. This time it was a Saturday night at 6:30pm. The restaurant was about 1/2 full. I walked in the door and found nobody at the front desk. I stood around waiting to be seated for 5 minutes. Finally was seated, and was handed the menu. Again waited 10 mins for the server to come back. I told her what I wanted to order. She replied to me that they're completely out of soup. And that they'e making more so it's going to be a while. I didn't really have a choice, so I agreed. I waited 20 minutes for the food comes out. After all of that it was just so so. I grew up going to Ping's Garden as a kid. The worst food I ever ate it was cold reheated junk definitely from the microwave i would not recommend this to my worst enemy

Ping's has, hands down, the best egg-drop soup I've ever had. It is light and brothy, not heavy and oily like so many I have had. Fresh chopped green onions float around the top and add just that little extra that makes it so fantastic. The portions are great, plenty to take home from every order. My personal favorite is the Kung Pao Beef, extra spicy. It is truly delicious. Even if it does make my sinuses clear out in .5 seconds. Personally, I see this as an added bonus though. I have recently discovered that the American fare annex menu has a pretty decent cheeseburger and fries that my daughter now eats instead of the Chinese. This makes us both happy, she eats everything on her plate, and actually enjoys it. One note worthy of comment. It's a fifty fifty shot on whether you get good service or not. Last night we had one of those off nights. The waitress was very young, new, and inattentive. At least we know this is not a consistent happening, so we'll be back. read more
