In my mission to sample more and more pizza places around Waltham, I've been stalled a bit. The thing is, after trying Pini's it has been difficult for me to order from anywhere else because this place is so good! While it's not my top pizza place, it is still way up there and totally awesome. Great crust, fast delivery, and friendly service (over the phone). Keep in mind that ordering from here can be slightly dangerous. Some pizza places serve up especially greasy, heavy pizza that fills you up fast. Pini's is a bit lighter, so the danger is that you'll eat half a large pizza without even realizing! They offer wheat crust too, but I haven't tried it yet. I do plan on giving it a shot in the near future though. The only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because I've decided to become a bit stingier with the top ratings. It comes close though, no joke. Worth a try for any pizza lover in the area. Yum! Oh and I don't know why the general info tab on this place says they don't take credit cards. Love Pini's. Maybe not the best pizza I've ever had, but delivery is quick, and their two-for-oneandahalf coupon is the best thing pretty much ever. I typically like my pizza a little more "NY style" but this is pretty much as good as Massachusetts gets. Their wings are awful though, and breaded, so we typically only get pizza and a salad. Pini's and Angelino's are tied, in my book, for best pizza in waltham. My favorite part is that they have my number on their computer, so every time I call, they know where I'm calling from. Pini's Pizza is a great little pizza shop in the Colonial Shopping Center on the Watertown, Newton, and Waltham line (technically in Waltham). I bought something else delicious earlier at a new sandwich place for late lunch, I needed something quick and not too much for a quick dinner as I still had a lot to do in the area, so I stopped for a pizza. This is a small little shop in the shopping center with convenient, ample parking outside, and a great, small interior seating area. The pizzeria is small, but has great customer service and pretty good pizza. I ordered a traditional cheese pizza, and is wasn't astounding, but was pretty good, and the perfect quick meal on a very busy day. Some of the other menu products are wings, salads, breadsticks, and a HUGE amount of Specialty Pizzas. Some of these include: tuscany, bianca, meat lovers, mexicana, steak bomb, romana, mediterranean, classic supreme, milaneze, create-your-own, and so, so many others. However, do note that the prices on the online menu are somewhat off. They seem to be less than the actual prices, so make sure to take caution when ordering and picking up! Been getting this pizza since I've moved into the waltham/watertown area. Everytime the food is great. WE ususally get a pizza and some breadsticks. Just some basic stuff, but it's always really good. Their delivery service is also very quick and dependable. This place has ridiculously good pizza and the staff is wonderful. Plenty of parking. Bathrooms. Clean restaurant and sitting area like traditional pizza place. The Pizza truly is something special. Delicious dough and crust. read more

I can safely say that Pini's is the best pizza I have had in Waltham. That being said, it is the only pizza I have had in Waltham. Good crust, sauce. Friendly staff. Convenient location. Coming from DC, its nice to see that real pizza still exists somewhere. read more

Very Frustrated! Not sure if there are new owners or cooks but the quality of the pizza has taken a nose dive. Second time in a row that I ordered a Margarita Pizza and got NO basil. The first time they allowed me to keep the pizza with NO basil and that made waiting for the replacement a little easier to take. This time they were full of excuses and the woman who answered my call had the nerve to say to me "Well I didn't make the pizza" and "Make sure you give the other pizza back to the driver". I truly wish I could give negative stars for this place. The people who make the pizza are missing brain cells. We entered a web order for a gluten free pizza with chicken and noted an extreme gluten sensitivity, and realized 2 slices in (which was delivered cold) that the chicken was breaded. DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND THAT BREAD IS GLUTEN!!!! I just finished sticking my whole fist down my throat to vomit in the hope that I don't get sick and I'm not able to take care of my 6 day old infant. Pini's is not a reliable restaurant to order gluten free pizza from. Although Pini's ensures your crust is gluten-free, they do not ensure your toppings are gluten free. On my gluten-free pizza (ordered online), the added topping of "chicken" was BREADED with non-gluten free breadcrumbs. I let the employee that answered the phone know that mixing gluten and gluten-free items is a recipe for disaster for gluten-free people. He was kind and understood the concern. I am currently awaiting reimbursement which is much appreciated. If you do order from Pini's, be sure to call in your order so that you can make sure they understand your allergy. read more

Pini's Pizza is very good. Their delivery , not so much. For the second time, they delivered my pizza to the same street address in the wrong town. The last time, I was going to pay cash so I ordered dinner elsewhere. This time I ordered from their website and it goes through a third party and they did not know how to refund my money. I moved back to h20town about 6 months ago, and am so sad that I JUST tried delivery from this place! But sooooo happy I did. Ordered for delivery on a friday night around 830. We were quoted that it would be around 35-40 minutes for delivery, and our baked potato pizza arrived hot, crispy, and it smelled unbelievable. Now about the za, this pizza isn't thin crust, sort of similar to dominos style but much more fresh. They loaded this za with sliced roasted potoatoes, scallions, cheese, and the bacon made it to our house still crispy and hot. Always been kind of a fan of Pinis, I usually stop in after a session at Plaster Funtime with the kids. The prices are good and I believe they have the largest slices around. Tonight I got a bacon double cheeseburger pizza, although it was very good it lacked the extra cheese it advertised in the menu. Service was friendly and I will certainly be back, but next time I am going to try the Steak Bomb pizza. Good location and plenty of parking. read more

Sad to be a downer on this place because the food is good, especially the pizza, which is great. 2 out of my 3 items came incorrect or incomplete. Today my greek salad came with no cheese which is disappointing but no big deal, I guess. I also ordered (and paid for) extra blue cheese dressing with my wings and none zip zero came. When I called to rectify, I was told all of the drivers were busy and the store was closing in 40 minutes, so they could not/would not bring me the rest of my order. but that I could have a credit for extra blue cheese next time. Honestly I love this place I order from Pini's often, I work a few doors down and I'm usually alone. I just wanted to order a soda and they charged me a $10 delivery fee. I never get charged for a delivery fee. I don't know If different people do it different, BUT when I usually call I always get the same kid who answers the phone and he always walks it over to me free of a delivery charge. It's just very sad that I have to be charged to have someone walk 1 1/2 minutes over to me to bring me something simple. I get everyone needs money but it's just beyond me. Our pizza came almost one hour late & when I called after 30 minutes late, 1st time, after asking if it arrives cold what should I do, I am new if it's cold call back. WelI I did!! I actually like the food. The delivery service is horrendous. Had been waiting and waiting for my food. Never came. I literally found my order on my front porch. It was there at least 1/2 hour to 45 minutes and, by that time it was stone cold. No one rang the doorbell or knocked on the door. Contacted the delivery service. Got a "sorry" but oh well. They claim Pini,s tried to call me numerous times - which is a lie - I had one missed call with no message so they just left it. Tried to call Pini's directly. No answer. So I just ordered my first pizza from Pini's and had it delivered. It was 8:30 on a Saturday night. The guy that answered the phone was very nice, not rude like a few local places..lol I ordered a large mushroom and cheese, and 3 20oz diet pepsi's all for under $20...they told me about an hour.. Normal for a weekend. Not a problem. Well 25 mins later my delivery guy is ringing the bell. My order arrived hot, and correct.. Excellent start. I took a bite and yummy!! I love the cheese blend they use..the sauce isn't too sweet or too bold which I appreciate and the crust is awesome. It was cooked perfectly...my only complaint...and this is just my thing.. The mushrooms were cut thick.. I like em sliced thin... but sooo not an issue just a note. So if your looking for a great pizza, at a great price, with fast delivery... I have eaten at Pini's many times, today I found an actual staple in my chicken tender. When I spoke with the woman who works there she told me it was unfortunate. Well if you are going to spend your money on pizza in Waltham understand that you might find a piece of metal in your food. This place is amazing! I've only had one awkward experience with it that I just like to call a mistake... The pizza is really great. I don't know how they season this stuff but it is working! I agree with the fact that you should try the other pizzas. They are all great as well. (I usually get Extra Cheese but when I mix it up it's good as well!) They have really good mozzarella sticks as well. And fried mushrooms. And literally everything else. I love this place and I highly recommend it. P.S. Again I have encountered problems with Pinis. I ordered 2 pizzas, one plain and one half bacon half pepperoni. I received one cheese and one pepperoni, bacon and potatoes! Wtf, who puts potatoes on their pizza! I called to explain the error and was told I could get a "free cheese pizza next time". I didn't want a free pizza next time, I wanted a credit for that pizza, or the correct one delivered then. The guy kept saying he couldn't do that, and finally he got on another line and called the owner, he didn't even put me on hold and I heard the whole conversation! The owner said he would credit my card the next day as it was a Sunday. The following Wednesday, my account hadn't been credited and I was in the neighborhood so I stopped in. The bitch at the counter(dirty blonde hair and black glasses) said "oh yeah, I heard about you". Are you freaking kidding me?! I was promised a refund again...2 weeks later still no refund, I went in AGAIN and the same bitch was there. She called over a "manager" who took down my info and promised to pass it on to the owner. It has now been 5 weeks and it still isn't cleared up. I gave up. They can keep there $16 and be sure we will never be back and will spread the word about their poor customer service!! read more

I had gone here a couple times and kind of enjoyed it. That all changed last night. I was going to be in the area and figured I'd order from Pini's. I checked their website, and was enticed to sign up for their email/member-whatever-you-call-it to get some coupons. I signed up, and was emailed a few coupons that say "Good for your next order." I called the shop and explained that I had a coupon that I was JUST emailed, and wanted to use it for a pickup. The rude and impatient d-bag who picked up the phone refused to accept the coupons, continuing to say some nonsense about 'not being in the system.' I explained that I just went to their website, signed up for their email address, and then touched the phone number printed on the coupon that they JUST sent me that says "Good for your next order." D-Bag refuses to listen, keeps saying that 'it's not in the system.' Finally, I say "Look, you just sent me this coupon. I already like the pizza. I signed up for the email because of it, and I want to use this coupon. Either take it now, or I'll take my business elsewhere." D-Bag just hangs up on me. Instead, I ordered from another place that I love and trust, and the food cost WAY MORE! I have no problem paying for whatever something costs, but if you email me a coupon and then try to start an arguement rather than accept it, I'll never go back. That's dishonest and just plain crazy. SIDE NOTE-- As good as Buffalo Mozzarella Sticks sound, they sucked when I had them before. Never again. I used to love this place because the pizza is pretty good but the past few times I've been frustrated because the people on the phone are extremely difficult to deal with - it's like they don't care about customers. If I'm willing to dictate the necessary information to you with diction, then you need to listen up. We were psyched to find out that Pini's now offers gluten free pizzas, but unfortunately they have yet to figure out exactly how to cook them properly. The toppings looked and smelled great, but the crust was basically raw and subsequent attempts to reheat in the oven at home really didn't yield good results. Their whole wheat crust was delicious and they are generous with the toppings, but my wife was so traumatized trying to save her GF pizza that we won't be back to try again. read more

Ordinary quality and lacked the love in the dough! I got a special Virginias pesto pizza and it was very mediocre . It lacked a proper topping. Pesto was very minimal and the taste dint come through. Shitty, but edible pizza. It did not completely disgust me and I was certainly able to eat it, but there was so much wrong with the pizzas I bought here. The dough is the worst part. It has a weird spongy "crust", with no crunch or texture whatsoever. They need to add some salt or some kind of seasoning to their dough, because it has no discernible flavor. Putting corn meal on the bottom of a pizza is so beyond my comprehension. It doesn't taste good, and pizza is not supposed to involve corn meal. I have no idea who thought this was a good idea. The sauce is alright, a bit too sweet for me. There was a decent amount of cheese on the plain pie, but not enough on the chicken and broccoli. The toppings were fine but nothing special. Obviously the broccoli came out of a freezer bag and the chicken was lacking seasoning. I'm happy with what I paid for the two pies: only $14.60. Not bad at all, and the pizza will feed my boyfriend and I for at least two more meals. However, quantity NEVER beats quality, so I'll continue to get my pizza from Tara's, even if they charge too much. I can only see myself buying Pini's again if I'm absolutely broke and entertaining people and can't afford $22 plus tip for two pies from Tara's. read more

Advertised as "thick crust pizza". Really? More like Dominos style crust, which I don't consider authentic or thick crust.... just fast food that makes you wake up at night with regrets of how you are going to have to hit the gym with heartburn in the morning. Pini's is awesome, all the time. the prices are really good and the pizza is great. I would compare Pini's pizza to Papa GIno's, out of all the chains. Pini's is excellent. Especially if you are going to order a lot of pies they have a $6 per pie deal if you get 5 or more. I lived in Newton for 3 years then moved away for a couple years, i was so sad.
