Supposedly iconic store and it can be convenient. HOWEVER, the staff doesn't know anything about wine or even anything but the basic liquor. There is always a bad vibe like the employees hate their job. Maria is rude on the phone like you are bothering her and she has 10,000 more important things to do than take your call or offer customer service. I've also had cashiers urge me to tip on basic purchases that no one helped me with. Since when do cashiers expect tips? I've seen the guy who is the owner BERATE staff-- who must hate working for him--about the simplest of things in front of customers. It's horrible to witness. The parking goons will make you pay whatever it seems they are in the mood to charge you (I've been charged 2 different rates) and they run at you like you are about to do something illegal. The only employee who is helpful and I've only seen late at night is Serge (or Sergio?). Even though he looks like HE has a thousand things to do, he is always helpful and goes out of his way to help or find someone who does. I'm not sure how he manages his happy moods in this environment. i haven't seen him recently but whatever his role is they should be paying him more because it also looks like other employees go to him for help or questions. After my experience this week with rude employees and again watching the owner treat his employees like they are idiots and worthless or his indentured servants, I won't be going back. read more

I was contacted by Pink Dot's owner - Sol. It appears that Sol is taking a bigger role in the business and is working on improving reviews. I do appreciate that effort for sure. I ordered from Pink Dot earlier this week and this time the order was seamless. Their website is easier to use than the platform I had switched too - Yummy. The delivery charge is a bit steep - I had forgotten about that. But my order was correct and came quickly. No problems. I had told Sol it was OK for him to call me, but now I'm getting calls from a woman that works for Pink Dot. And honestly, I'm getting a little perturbed. I appreciate one phone call/outreach and even a follow-up, but I don't need or want to speak with the entire company about my previous Yelp review. I'm not ever vague about my feelings or experience. So Pink Dot DID reach out. They were very gracious and apologetic. And I've tried them again. There is a very good chance that I'll order from them at some other time in the future. read more

UPDATE! So over this place. If you read below you'll know I had a bad experience the first time and the manager tried making it up so I went back and few times and it still continued to be a massive disappointment. Every time I go they get my order wrong! Every single time. They need new staff! I just went and ordered a tuna melt and specifically asked if it was on a sub roll and they said yes then it comes out on two small pieces of French bread. Seriously! I was on my way to work so had no time to ask it to be remade. That's being said I'm just never going back again. If you plan on going expect your order to be messed up every time. -- The kind owner reached out to me and asked if he could make up for a sandwich I was unsatisfied with. I really appreciated his kindness, people skills and good business etiquette and wanted to update my review to reflect my current thoughts of my sandwich redo. I ordered the chicken pesto panini with incredible taste that was nothing short of perfection. I would definitely recommend this sandwich. Besides the food the store in general has the top selection of snack and drinks. I also admired the local branded kombuchas, lemonades, and CBD drinks! Great stop for anyone that lives nearby. Since I travel along Sunset Blvd often, I've spotted this place many times. I made the time to stop by here and check out what they had to offer. This place is ok, but nothing special. I stopped by here for a bottle of water specifically. The water was marked up, as was many of their selections. I can understand, as it is on Sunset. The store itself is clean, and the customer service is ok. The patrons were mainly folk like myself hanging out on Sunset. It was a pretty chill crowd. Sunset Blvd is great for upscale dining and entertainment. For shopping snacks and refreshments, I would go elsewhere. read more

The 2016 YELP 500, Review #125: This is only a temporary rating. I will guess the store store closed about 3 minutes before I walked up to the door (0203 hours). The woman behind the counter was still counting her register. Could I have been here sooner? Yes but, I actually passed the driveway that I wanted to park in and I decided to pull through to the back... once back there they had all these Pink Dot-Mobiles back there so I started snapping pictures (I should have parked there and waled up front to the store), thus making me late. Just as well, because they have a renovation going on right now. About 1/2 to 2/3 of the space is sectioned off by plastic sheeting that is hung from ceiling to floor. If you look at my pictures you will see that there is even a wheelbarrow in there. The new look with the hi-def porcelain tile is going to be great. Why was I going to Pink Dot? Simply because that was where the food delivery guy worked in the movie Swingers (Vince Vaughn & Jon Favreau, 1996)... and if you have followed my posted reviews, you will notice a trend. I frequent places from that movie. I was actually shooting pictures of the two Chateau Marmont signs (featured in the opening credit sequence of Swingers) and decided to drive west a bit. With its neon lighting you can't miss Pink Dot! Well, perhaps next vacation, once the remodel is complete, I will revisit this place and give it a proper rating. Aloha Dot fans! PS: Somehow, just before passing Mikey's apt., on Franklin, I spotted "birds" another opening credits marquee. UPDATE: While rereading my reviews I noticed that I accidentally gave this business 2-stars as a neutral review. It is my policy that if I check in someplace and incur some sort of speed bump, I give the business 3-stars and return again to allow the business to earn a higher rating (or sadly sometimes, a lower rating). Pink Dot has the best service in Town. I went in to order a Pestonpasta with chicken and it was delicious. The employee was so kind to bring my order to my car when it was ready. Great service and excellent food, I will definitely be a repeat customer. read more

They have every snack you can think of and also carry a bunch of grocery items as well. They have a hot menu for breakfast/lunch/dinner options. I found the prices very reasonable for the area it's in. So convenient that they deliver too! I also love the staff. I've only been helped by kind and friendly people. Service is ok could be better if they got rid of some of the rifraf workers there..I don't recommend ordering sandwiches they take 25 minutes to make and their prices are astronomically HIGH. I'm usually at one of the nearby hotels on Sunset when I frequent. It probably is a bit higher priced for items than your typical Ralph's or other grocery store, but small markets usually are...it definitely saves on what you'd pay for a bottle of wine at the hotel though, that's for sure. They sell a good assortment of snacks and hot foods too. Pretty much anything you need when in a pinch. read more

I didn't have high expectations ordering hot prepared food from a convenience store, but their grilled cheese blew me away! Toasted very well and the right amount of cheese that was fully melted, it was delicious. They also had it ready quite quickly, and the staff was very friendly. They have plenty of snacks and treats in addition to their rather large hot food menu. Awful awful awful. Waited 2 hours for delivery had to spend 15 minutes trying to track down the order. We live 12 minutes from the store. No apologies or compensation offered. Just rude on the phone and hung up on us whoever was working the phone Saturday night feb 15th 2019. They have forgotten items in the past & I tried to give it another shot. Don't waste your time or give your business when there are so many other options. The worst, they suck. Never again. How are they still in business? The guy from the Hollywood location on 10/4 after midnight called me and told me there was no more Carmex and that they'd be just sending the 5 Emergen-C packets. He didn't say how much it was and hung up before I could get new total. I called back and he told me $11.35 When the delivery woman came to my door, she still had the original total with the Carmex included. The woman was very sweet but wasn't proficient in English and I had difficulty explaining to her that the price was incorrect. I had to call and get the guy on the phone to let him know that her app still showed the original total and asked if he could update it to reflect correct total. He placed me on hold and never came back to the phone. In the meantime I was able to show her that $11.35 was hand-written on my customer copy of the receipt and she was ok with that. I had a $20 bill but they sent her out with no change. I also had $12 cash aside from the $20 and she said she would take that. I felt horrible because I wanted to tip her for coming all the way to the top floor from the street and waiting patiently as we got the issue resolved. She said it was ok, apologized, and took the $12 and was really sweet about it. After she left I was still on hold. I heard the guy accidentally take me off mute and when I told him I could hear him; he hung up in my ear. He was pure trash...and if I wasn't sick I would have verbally eviscerated him for his poor customer service. Instead I wrote this review to let people know that Pink Dot isn't worth the time or effort...unless you're sick like me. And then--I'd advise you to add aspirin to your order because you're going to need it when dealing with the Hollywood store...This was my first and last time ordering from them. read more

I only bought an Honest Tea it was $1.99 not to bad! The store it self was sooo hot inside I felt bad for the nice employee who was hanging out by the cooler because they honestly needed too! They had a decent amount of merchandise / booze and plus they deliver if your in the area so that's wayyy cool I mean come on I'm sure we've all been there when you drank all your booze at home and then your pissed you can't drive to the store and get more! First time user and will be a return customer for sure. On a rainy morning, I found myself out of a few integral things to make breakfast. Pink Dot to the rescue! I didn't even want to get out of bed, much less pop to the grocery store. Depending on what you want, it can be pricy. Some items are marked up at a premium and others are the same as what you can get anywhere. I was blown away at the variety of what they will deliver. Pretty much anything you can think of. I love the convenience for mere $4.00 delivery charge. We were quoted 45-60 minutes and they were here 15 minutes later. Granted I live close to their location. Pink Dot could fill a real niche for indisposed persons like myself that don't qualify them for programs like Meals on Wheels or Project Angel Food. I am most thankfully in remission from breast cancer, but would still be very glad to have some of my meals and groceries delivered. Paying for the food is not my problem, but shopping sometimes is. I cannot drive while undergoing my present course of medical treatment. The slightly higher prices at Pink Dot seem well justified by the extra labor costs involved. The woman who answered my preliminary inquiries about Pink Dot on the phone was very pleasant and helpful. So far so good! Of the large 2 item order placed and paid for only 1 item was delivered. I contacted the 800 number and was assured that the missing item would be delivered. I waited over 2 hours and the missing item was not delivered. After the 2 hours I submitted a help ticket on the website with all of the necessary information. It has now been over 14 hours, the missing item has not been delivered, nor have I been contacted by phone, or email. I have contacted my credit card company, but I have to wait until the purchase is no longer pending to file a complaint, which I will be doing. It's highly doubtful I will ever consider the services of Pinkdot again. read more
