Pizza has been in my rotation since as long as I can remember. But the man I married really puts my pizza love to shame. So needless to say, I've upped my pizza game substantially. It is sheet pan baked, usually the sauce is marinara sauce, & it's on top of the cheese instead of underneath it. Toppings are fresh & simple. There's usually fresh basil. There might be ricotta. I love it with pepperoni & sausage, but this pizza is so good it probably wouldn't matter if it had none of that. When I saw that Pink Onion does grandma pies it went to the top of my "try next" list. Then I saw they have a combo meal... Ok. Help me with this. An appetizer or a salad, a pizza, a pasta dish, & dessert. For $63??!! Yes, that's right. I said sixty three dollars. AAAAND, apparently on Wednesdays they throw in a bottle of wine, too (their choice)??!! It's such an unbelievable deal I felt guilty ordering it. And I'm not sure that I should even be telling you. I want to share, but I don't want to ruin it! It wasn't a Wednesday, & I ordered online for delivery so the bottle of wine might not even be an option in that case but really WHO CARES? It was around this time in the ordering process I started to wonder about how everything would taste. At this price how great can it be? Holy cannoli. Both of us loved every course. Caesar salad fresh, dressing perfect. The grandma pie did not disappoint, was delicious. Crust not soggy despite being door dashed over. The pasta was al dente & wow that sauce! The Wednesday $60 meal deal is always the best, but you do need to book MONTHS in advance. The service is always very fast. Our server for this visit was very attentive. The restaurant itself is very small, but if you have a party of 3 or 4 the seating is more than enough. (Be careful swinging open the bathroom door - You can accidentally hit other customers). The food is so delicious. With the deal, you can get 1 small pizza, 1 pasta, 1 appetizer/salad, 1 dessert and 1 whole bottle of wine for $60. We ordered the burrata caprese, pasta tartufo, truffle pasta, magic mushroom pizza and basque cheesecake. The salad was a good start. Nothing over the top, but was delicious. Luckily, the workers were super chill and suggested we do takeout, which we did. I can't speak much for the interior aside from it's a small restaurant. Small, packed, and lots of people waiting. Pink Onion is a cramped but super popular restaurant for Italian eats--especially for takeout. We, however, sat down and started with a selection of appetizers, including Sicilian Meatballs, two oversized meatballs in tomato sauce and topped with Parmesan cheese; and the Pink Onion Salad, a fruity and tangy mixture of romaine topped with goat cheese, toasted pecans, currants, strawberries, and blueberries, tossed in a blood orange vinaigrette. But my favorite plate was the Parma e Burrata, a dish of burrata cheese paired with prosciutto slices, arugula, candied pear, strawberries, blueberries, and balsamic. This dish had some of everything from creamy burrata to salty prosciutto to sweet pear to fresh fruit to sweet/tangy balsamic vinegar, and the combination paired nicely with their light, fresh-baked bread. The main reason that many people visit Pink Onion is for their pizzas, built on a relatively thick, bready, fluffy homemade dough. We tried the Pink Alarm Fire, topped with pepperoni, chile pepper, garlic, and red onion (along with cheese and tomato sauce); and the Magic Mushroom, topped with mozzarella, tomato sauce, cremini mushrooms, black pepper, truffle oil, and prosciutto. The Pink Alarm Fire had a more pungent, garlicky, slightly spicy flavor; while the Magic Mushroom had a more salty, umami hit from the mushrooms, truffle oil, and prosciutto. For 5 people we did two of these meal deals and we had a LOT Of extras - the servings were actually bigger than we expected. Lots of vegetarian options for salads and pizzas. The eggplant pizza stood out to me. I would highly recommend coming here! We sat outside which was nice, the inside seemed a bit dark but perhaps it was before they turned all the lights on. As of 2/22/26 The place is a bit tiny so make sure you make reservations! The staff is SUPER friendly and depending on your music taste, this place is very fun. They don't play your normal restaurant music, last night it was VERY colorful songs from 50 Cent type genre. I personally love that music. One quick note, if you're hard of seeing, you might want to bring your phone to the bathroom. Sounds weird I know, BUT there is only a speaker with a colored light in the bathroom so it's not the brightest in there. At least you get to listen to great music . Again, the staff is very hospitable and gets you anything you need. We waited about 10-15min from the time of our reservation to get seated but that is only because we were waiting for a couple to finish with the table. Like I said, seating IS limited so make reso's. Now...on to the food. We were originally just going to get a pasta and pizza, but decided to be a little more healthy and get a salad. So, first was our salad- Pear endive salad $13: really good and big portion. I didn't expect the salad to be so big. We did forget to ask for the dressing on the side so that's our bad. It was a LOT of dressing, but no biggie..still tasted great and we had a little left to take to go. Would definitely eat again. Next course was our pasta- Rigatoni Vodka $16: this is definitely one of our favorite dishes and we try to order it when we see it just to see the difference between places. We like that it's spicy pasta. The pasta didn't look like rigatoni, but it seems like the rigatoni curled and looks more like shells, which doesn't really matter to us, just thought we'd mention it. But the flavor was really good and even better when you have a sprig of basil with each bite. Would definitely get again. It was almost like the one at Carbone in NYC, just minus the sausage. Drinks- Pliny the Younger $9: Of COURSE we had to order the Pliny the Younger, it's only out certain times of the year and it's hard to find on tap for sure...it's like a pot of gold when you find it. This all depends on your taste though. We love IPAs so this is right up our alley. We don't normally drink beer but this one, if we see it..always have to get. I ended up getting 2! At 10.5%abv...it's definitely a sipper...no chugging this one. Last but not least was our pizza- The Guido (Large) $31: A very simple made pizza with a fresh handful of arugula on top. After the pictures I spread the arugula more evenly across the pizza of course and we went to town. As I said earlier, we didn't expect the salad to be so big, so after most of the salad, half of the pasta, and beer, there wasn't much room left for the pizza so we each had 2 slices and took the rest to go. This place is not that big and it's pretty tight inside. We had a reservation at 6 but arrived about half an hour earlier and was hoping they would be able to take us in earlier. There were two walk up parties that arrived after us and they sat them first. Granted, those parties were given the option to sit outside while our reservation was at an indoor table, but I thought they should have at least given us an option to sit outside too if we wanted to sit down earlier. For our meal, we split the prosciutto and parma app, a pink onion salad, and got a small hotboy pizza. They also provide fresh focaccia bread for the table. * The bread was good - warm and soft, and you have your balasamic vinegar and olive oil on the table to make your own dipping sauce. * The app and salad were too similar. They both had the same strawberries and blueberries in it and it felt like you were just eating two variations of a similar salad. There was a good portion of burrata cheese but only 3 pieces of prosciutto in the app which felt a bit unbalanced. * The hotboy pizza was disappointing. The pizza came out on the wet side (see my picture) and the toppings were literally sliding off each slide as we were trying to pick it up. Flavors were ok, but nothing noteworthy. They also should have more information on the menu about the difference in the sizes. You can only choose between a S and L but there was no information about the difference in sizes so we had to ask the waiter, who explained a S would come with 6 slices and the L with 8. We opted for the S, which, when combined with the rest of our meal, was more than enough food for the two of us. We had also ordered a couple of drinks. They have a limited menu of beer and wine by the glass which is shown on the chalkboard above the bar. I wanted a white wine and my only option was the italian white which was ok, but not great. My husband got a beer but once again, the actual amounts given were not transparent and his beer came out in a tall, thin glass and he was hoping for at least a pint. Oh Pink Onion, how I love you so. I came on a Wednesday when they had the $55 deal and the food and overall experience was delightful. I had a resy around 8pm and there was probably another 10 min wait to get seated, but the inside space is very cozy with mostly two person seats. The combo deal is so good -- I was stuffed by the end of it. The salad was really bright and delicious (got a fresh summer one with berries and nuts). All I could say after dinner was "wow". The pasta was just that good. My friends and I arrived around 6:00 on a Saturday and it was already packed. The Rigatoni Vodka was my group's favorite; the sauce was luscious and rich with the perfect balance of heat and acidity. The mussel pasta was loaded with mussels, drowned in a light but deeply flavored white wine sauce. The Amatriciana was my second favorite; the smoky, rich, and salty guanciale with the nicely acidic tomato sauce was highly addictive. While the pizzas were good, they didn't exceed our expectations and were overshadowed by the pastas. Rigatoni Vodka: 9.6/10 Mussel Pasta: 9.3/10 Amatriciana: 9.5/10 Pizzas: 8.2/10 My only gripe about this place would be the volume of the music; it was too loud as we had to basically shout at each other to talk. We were goofballs and thought this place did it by the slice. But regardless, we came here maybe an hour before closing and ordered 2 pizzas to go. We ordered the Bruce Bochy and the Tyson Punchout. I enjoyed the Tyson a lot and think hot honey on top really added to it. The Bruce Bochy was a bit lacking in flavor I felt, but it was still good. Everything was fantastic! Ease of ordering, did pickup but ambience was inviting and everyone friendly and helpful regarding an allergy that enabled us to enjoy the delicious Wednesday meal deal! Pizza was wonderful- I grew up east coast and the dough reminded me of that style! The truffle cream sauce pasta ( we chose to sub ravioli- so good!) was phenomenal!! Visited pink onion again, and love it here! I will say the vibe here is younger, chill and all around great vibes. If you want to talk a bunch or have a more relaxed ambiance I wouldn't recommend this place. However, if you're looking for some upbeat music, fun vibes and a great time this will definitely be up your alley! I tried different dishes this time and all of them were super delicious but my favorite pasta is definitely the mussel pasta. Service this time around was a little slower but super nice hosts so no problem for us. Overall, I will definitely be back again and again. Such a great deal!
