I do think the optometrists do a fine job, and I think the prescriptions they give are at least correct. Which is great considering what they want to charge people for contacts and frames/lenses. Unfortunately, that's where the positive review ends. The main reason I cannot recommend Abba is their inconsistent and unreasonable pricing for lenses. It feels very sketchy and unprofessional, especially for a medical establishment -- as if the prices are set arbitrarily by a broker rather than based on the actual product. I can get basic plastic lenses with anti-glare anywhere else for around $80 or less per pair. At Abba, I was quoted $240 for one pair of the exact same basic lenses. That is absurd. It genuinely feels like they absorb whatever funds they see available from insurance and inflate the pricing accordingly, instead of charging a fair, standard rate for the product. It comes across as highly unscrupulous. My insurance benefits aren't "free money" -- I pay for my coverage and expect it to be applied appropriately to my medical needs.

From the moment I walked in, she warmly welcomed me, checked me in, tightened and adjusted both pairs of my glasses, cleaned them, printed all of the paperwork I needed, and even took the time to explain where I could go that accepts my insurance. She truly did all the legwork for me when she easily could have just pointed me in the right direction and sent me on my way. It's Monday, and we all know customer service can sometimes feel rushed at the beginning of the week, but Angelic never made me feel like an inconvenience. She went far above and beyond what anyone would reasonably expect, and her genuine willingness to help made a stressful situation so much easier. Angelic, thank you for your incredible attitude and compassion. The world truly needs more people like you. You're a wonderful example of what exceptional customer service looks like, and I hope your kindness is recognized because you absolutely deserve it.

I called on Friday and he proceeds to tell me my glasses will be in Monday or Tuesday. I asked for a refund and the "manager" says that will be hard! Are you kidding me! He's a manager! I left the store after I said yes I want my money back! Keith, the tech, calls. He was amazing! He started the paperwork and said it would be ready for me to sign Saturday. I stopped in, paperwork was ready but Emmanuel had to ask Keith for help! I then went to Costco and had glasses ordered in under 30 minutes and they were $200 less than America's Best. Great customer service!

I'm so tired of poor customer service. Pictured below are my glasses from 6 years ago, notice…read morethey're in perfect condition. That's because I'm VERY careful with my glasses. I have since replaced my glasses and in under a year they've broken twice. So twice I've had to revert back to the old glasses. When I originally called the same associate I talked to today told me, "yeah come in we will exchange them." When I arrived today I'm told my prescription "JUST expired". I could have and would have came before they expired but she didn't bother to tell me they were expiring. Then she tells me they will replace them in THE SAME FRAMES when previously I was told I could exchange them for frames of equal or less value but instead she told me "this is *really* it" as if it's my fault the product they sold is awful and as if these won't also snap in a couple of months. The first replacement I paid for the warranty you're not doing me any favors in fact you've cost me weeks of seeing poorly. Then despite my having told her they broke both times while being cleaned she brings out a harder case so I guess she was accusing me of lying?? Because how can a harder case prevent them from breaking while being cleaned. I'm so tired of this process, I am not the problem or the glasses below would have broken a LONG time ago. I also asked that the manager call me and two weird things happened one I said have "them" call me because I wasn't aware which gender the manager was and she snapped at me "SHES A HER" ok, unnecessary correction and overly rude, next she pulls the glasses back and said well then we aren't replacing them because "this is all we are doing" (again, like this is a favor and not a service I paid for.) Ok, I get it, can I please leave with my medical device. This is the second time this process was terrible and I paid for their warranty. I'm the one who should be upset this is a multibillion dollar company that is held privately and the people there seem more concerned about saving them a couple hounded dollars then doing the right thing.

Overall they are great. Getting my sunglasses has taken over 2 months now, though. My first…read moreappointment with them was last year. This year I went back to them for my annual check. Doctor and tech were great. Picked out some glasses that were paid for by my insurance. I looked into what it would cost for new sunglasses but it was too much (out of pocket for me) so I elected to get new lenses for the sunglasses that I got from them last year. 2 weeks later I got a call that both the new glasses and the sunglasses lenses were ready. Went in and the glasses were great but the sunglass lenses were definitely not the right size for my frames (even though they had the info for the correct frames). 3 weeks later the new lenses finally arrive. They left a voicemail that told me this and that I should make an appointment but that I could also wait for the lenses to be ready. I was not told that I could only get these lenses put into my frames Tues - Thurs (the person that can cut the lenses to size is only there on these days) so, since I was off on Friday, I went in. I was then told that that was why they said I needed an appointment (but skipped over the part where they also said I could wait). So, I made an appointment for the following Tuesday. On Tuesday I went in for my appointment, gave them the frames and told them I would wait (they told me 30 to 45 minutes). 45 minutes later they brought out my sunglasses with the new lenses. I was then told that the lenses have some scratches around the edges and they were going to order new lenses again so I can have "perfect" lenses. They will call and then I will have to go through this process all over again. If the timeframe is the same as it was for the lenses I currently have, it will be at least 3 weeks before I get the final (hopefully) lenses. If that is the case, it will have taken 2.5 months just to get lenses. Each time I went in to get my lenses, I was given a token apology that never seemed sincere. In fact, one of them apologized in a way that made it sound like they were apologizing for me making a mistake (for not making an appointment as they suggested even though I was given the option to wait and never told why I needed an appointment). I know mistakes happen but they aren't even trying to make it up to me in anyway (like offering any sort of refund since they made the mistake a couple of times now). I am definitely frustrated and will consider changing providers next year.

Told me "what for ?'. When I tried to explain I wanted to ride herd on the problem to monitor the situation and decide how soon I might need surgery he said "it's up to you if you want to walk around in a fog forever." -- he told me "I don't do anything when there are cataracts" as if I had no right to set out my own health progress. Told me he was not liable if I fell (I am disabled but trying) once I stepped outside . Then he said "be careful until you're out of the parking lot -- I am liable if you fall until then." I left angry and insulted. My wife will not use them now. People better remember that patients are not a nuisance or an interruption -- Patients ARE THE REASON THEY HAVE JOBS. I don't care if you like my jokes and casual demeanor, and I do not care if you are having a bad day because I am not and I will never have a healthy, pain free day ever so put a smile on and be happy to see me or go flip burgers. They can have a good day -- ill patients cannot. If all of that means "hand holding" then so be it in his world but it is called being professional and compassionate in the rest of the world. Stray pets receive gentler and concerned care." Read less

This place will take you for every penny they can squeeze out of your pocket…read more Three separate instances now where they charged me for something never mentioned/agreed to in advance: 1) Had an eye exam with them in 2022 where I did not have any insurance. They quoted me roughly $100 for the exam. They perform said exam. I go to pay on my way out and they charged me around $180 (IIRC). When I asked about the additional charge, they stated that the original price didn't include fitting/measuring my eyes. I ended up having to pay the full amount in order to receive my prescription. 2) Went in to renew my prescription via another exam, this time with insurance. Because of the first exam, I asked both over the phone and in person upon arrival to confirm my out the door cost. In every instance they stated I would pay $0 and it was fully covered. Again, when I went to pay on my way put, they tacked on the same charge they did the first time for the eye fitment. Would not provide prescription without full payment. Confronted them about the charge not being aforementioned and they removed a small amount somehow, but still charged me. 3) I called in today to ask about a pair of FREE get-my-by's until my contact order arrives. They stated they typically charge a $25 'transfer fee' for that. I then asked again if they could offer a pair for free. The lady on the phone said 'let me check if we even have them in stock and if I can do that for you'. She comes back and says she does have a pair if I want to come pick them up. I say ok. Drive in and yet again she goes to charge me $25. I reminded her that when I called in, I asked for a free pair and that's what I thought I was coming for. She went to 'go check' with someone else if they could do that, then came back and still charged me. I will not be returning to this place. They like to coerce people into paying for things that were never mentioned, let alone agreed upon until you go to leave.
