They offer additional services without pressure to buy. The prices are in line with other providers. Dr. Heck is outstanding! In 50 years of eye exams, I have never had a better exam than the ones I have had with her.

I wanted to make sure my left eye…read morewas healthy because I have been having headaches and also wanted to see if I may need eye corrective surgery. While Dr. Heck was doing the testing on my left eye which is my bad eye. It was really hard for me to see the letters from the distance she had it. I also at times would have a really hard time picking which slide was clear or not because I literally can not see well from that eye. I would tell her which one was clear or not and it felt like she started to become irritated because I was choosing the ones she felt should be clear. She literally stopped flung her arms down in aggravation and explained how I should be doing the test. I understood the first time and was doing that but if its not clear or if its blurred to ME I'm going to tell the truth. When I spoke to her about the pain and other concerns that I had she seemed to brush them off and blame it on because I'm in my 40s. Then proceeded to continuously bring up her problems because she's 48. First of all I've been blessed to not have to say Oh this is happening to me since I've turned 40. Everything I spoke to her about I've been dealing with since I was a child with my lazy left eye. She would cut me off when I would try to speak. After a while I just stopped talking. When we walked out of the room she went to the front desk. I was behind her taking a seat in the waiting area right next to the front desk where they walk in and out. She didn't notice where I sat or I'm sure she wouldn't had went to the tall lady that had glasses with salt and pepper hair complaining to her that she had to repeatedly ask me which one and to just pick one already. The salt and pepper haired woman took me over to where I was supposed to look at glass however I told her that I just wanted to leave. Very humiliating. It seems that Dr. Heck doesn't have patience and I really hope she doesn't treat children the way that she did me. Thumbs down never ever coming back here. I'd give no stars if I was able to do so.

When a salesperson was available, my wife walked over to him and he ignored her until she mentioned she had an appointment. He still appeared to be too busy for another minute or two while she waited. Eventually, he decided to ask what she needed. He did get my wife in for a "digital exam". The techs in back seemed to do their job. But back up front the two salespeople couldn't seem to figure out how to use the computers to verify our vision insurance. The guy kept blaming the insurance website as well as complaining that their computers were so terrible. Then the female salesperson tried to help but she seemed equally confused about verifying the insurance, also blaming the computer. When another customer came in both salespeople walked away from my wife to take care of the new customer and left us. After about 10 minutes of waiting, we finally had enough. A "manager" had come out of the back office but not to help with customers, apparently. We did ask if she would just email my wife's Rx to her so we could go somewhere else to purchase glasses for her. Pathetic lack of customer service is no way to treat customers. Do better "America's Best".

I felt like the person checking me out was the sloth from zootopia. Then I asked for my PD number to be written so I can order glasses at later time. I arrive home to see it was never written down. I call the office and I was told that I couldn't get my PD because of "hippa". I am a registered nurse I know HIPPA. I asked if I could verify my information to get the number and they still said I had to come down back to the office. What the heck will giving my PD number after verifying my identity break HIPPA? Isl have done plenty of virtual and phone calls with doctors and how's it that not breaking HIPPA but my PD number is. Also they did not inform me my doctor visit was virtual until I was already there and checked in and had no choice

Overall they are great. Getting my sunglasses has taken over 2 months now, though. My first…read moreappointment with them was last year. This year I went back to them for my annual check. Doctor and tech were great. Picked out some glasses that were paid for by my insurance. I looked into what it would cost for new sunglasses but it was too much (out of pocket for me) so I elected to get new lenses for the sunglasses that I got from them last year. 2 weeks later I got a call that both the new glasses and the sunglasses lenses were ready. Went in and the glasses were great but the sunglass lenses were definitely not the right size for my frames (even though they had the info for the correct frames). 3 weeks later the new lenses finally arrive. They left a voicemail that told me this and that I should make an appointment but that I could also wait for the lenses to be ready. I was not told that I could only get these lenses put into my frames Tues - Thurs (the person that can cut the lenses to size is only there on these days) so, since I was off on Friday, I went in. I was then told that that was why they said I needed an appointment (but skipped over the part where they also said I could wait). So, I made an appointment for the following Tuesday. On Tuesday I went in for my appointment, gave them the frames and told them I would wait (they told me 30 to 45 minutes). 45 minutes later they brought out my sunglasses with the new lenses. I was then told that the lenses have some scratches around the edges and they were going to order new lenses again so I can have "perfect" lenses. They will call and then I will have to go through this process all over again. If the timeframe is the same as it was for the lenses I currently have, it will be at least 3 weeks before I get the final (hopefully) lenses. If that is the case, it will have taken 2.5 months just to get lenses. Each time I went in to get my lenses, I was given a token apology that never seemed sincere. In fact, one of them apologized in a way that made it sound like they were apologizing for me making a mistake (for not making an appointment as they suggested even though I was given the option to wait and never told why I needed an appointment). I know mistakes happen but they aren't even trying to make it up to me in anyway (like offering any sort of refund since they made the mistake a couple of times now). I am definitely frustrated and will consider changing providers next year.

Different faces mostly but attitude was obvious. Staff too young and badly in need of social skills. The ophthalmologist iced the cake as to rudeness. Rude, distant, and downright insulting -- said "go see Dr. Haas or doctor somebody else` if I needed "hand holding" Told me he was 'done" when I asked about scheduling a 3 month checkup since I have cataracts forming. Told me "what for ?'. When I tried to explain I wanted to ride herd on the problem to monitor the situation and decide how soon I might need surgery he said "it's up to you if you want to walk around in a fog forever." -- he told me "I don't do anything when there are cataracts" as if I had no right to set out my own health progress. Told me he was not liable if I fell (I am disabled but trying) once I stepped outside . Then he said "be careful until you're out of the parking lot -- I am liable if you fall until then." I left angry and insulted. My wife will not use them now. People better remember that patients are not a nuisance or an interruption -- Patients ARE THE REASON THEY HAVE JOBS. I don't care if you like my jokes and casual demeanor, and I do not care if you are having a bad day because I am not and I will never have a healthy, pain free day ever so put a smile on and be happy to see me or go flip burgers. They can have a good day -- ill patients cannot. If all of that means "hand holding" then so be it in his world but it is called being professional and compassionate in the rest of the world. Stray pets receive gentler and concerned care." Read less

This place will take you for every penny they can squeeze out of your pocket…read more Three separate instances now where they charged me for something never mentioned/agreed to in advance: 1) Had an eye exam with them in 2022 where I did not have any insurance. They quoted me roughly $100 for the exam. They perform said exam. I go to pay on my way out and they charged me around $180 (IIRC). When I asked about the additional charge, they stated that the original price didn't include fitting/measuring my eyes. I ended up having to pay the full amount in order to receive my prescription. 2) Went in to renew my prescription via another exam, this time with insurance. Because of the first exam, I asked both over the phone and in person upon arrival to confirm my out the door cost. In every instance they stated I would pay $0 and it was fully covered. Again, when I went to pay on my way put, they tacked on the same charge they did the first time for the eye fitment. Would not provide prescription without full payment. Confronted them about the charge not being aforementioned and they removed a small amount somehow, but still charged me. 3) I called in today to ask about a pair of FREE get-my-by's until my contact order arrives. They stated they typically charge a $25 'transfer fee' for that. I then asked again if they could offer a pair for free. The lady on the phone said 'let me check if we even have them in stock and if I can do that for you'. She comes back and says she does have a pair if I want to come pick them up. I say ok. Drive in and yet again she goes to charge me $25. I reminded her that when I called in, I asked for a free pair and that's what I thought I was coming for. She went to 'go check' with someone else if they could do that, then came back and still charged me. I will not be returning to this place. They like to coerce people into paying for things that were never mentioned, let alone agreed upon until you go to leave.
