They treated my yard and I got treatment for my dogs. And the ticks were literally gone. They did come back slightly, but they came immediately and took care of it with no charge. I know the joke is that all of San Diego is built on an anthill, but for me it's no joke. I've had major ant infestations off and on since I moved into my current house about 7 years ago. For years I used Ant Busters and was very happy with them, but the company was sold, and in order to give me the same warranty, the new company wanted to use a pesticide that would require me to vacate the house for a few hours. Uh, no thanks. I try to use integrative pest management solutions where possible, and I have four cats, so that wasn't going to happen. I don't remember now how I found Pinpoint (it may have been Yelp), and when I called, I had a long chat with the guy who answered the phone and who was extremely knowledgeable about ants and why they're such a problem. He said he'd never use a potent pesticide indoors and came up with a treatment that was acceptable to me. The tech came the next day, placed a few bait spots inside and sprayed outside. He also told me what the bait was and that I could buy it on Amazon. (This problem was WAY past the Terro bait station solution, which I'd been trying for a few weeks at that point.) The approach worked quickly, and I've been ant-free since (fingers crossed). I've been happy to recommend Pinpoint a few times since I used them, and I won't hesitate to call them again if I need them. read more

Based on this company's stellar ratings on Yelp, we called them to get rid of the gopher that made its hole in our yard. Michael came today to inspect the problem. He explored it and gave us surprising news. It was not made by a gopher, and there was no tunnel connected to it. Instead, it was made by a larger animal (maybe a possum) digging. My husband was relieved and expected to be charged, but Michael didn't even accept a tip. This is one amazingly honest company! read more

We found this company from a random google search and could not be happier. Every single person we spoke to was extremely kind. When asking about certain infestations and bugs they KNEW their stuff which made us really trust them. We went from moving into a rental on the beach seeing 3-4 cockroaches a day to ZERO for the past 6 months. The problem was solved in exactly the amount of time they said it would take. (About 1 month If I remember correctly). Very AFFORDABLE, easy, and convenient. They suggested how many times to keep things under control and we went with it. Came out and sprayed once a month and would leave an invoice in our mailbox. Did not have to speak to anyone and they came and went efficiently. Also no problems with our dog! read more

This review is a follow up from an earlier negative review of this company. I hired Pinpoint to get rid of gophers in my front yard. After 3 treatments, I still had gophers. The warranty period had run out. I posted my bad experience here on YELP and rated this company accordingly. Steve, the owner, reached out to me and explained that they had started using a new gopher treatment recommended by a new vendor. It wasn't working, obviously. He offered to re-treat my yard with their tried-and-true trap method. They were able to catch all of the gophers in two treatments. My yard is gopher and gopher-mound free! We had another pest control company out a few years before who after flaking twice, couldn't stop talking about Jesus and MERICA once on property, got completely shafted by a plumbing and heating company ( feel free to read that review) so the expectation bar was low. I am happy to say Pinpoint is a shining light in the darkness of flaky unreliable unethical toxic capitalism. I had to change my appointment time twice (talk about flaky!) because of my changing work schedule, the technician showed up within the first hour of window, was friendly, knowledgeable, told me what he was looking for, why, how, etc. He went in, under, over, through, roof, crawl space etc. He did not sell me disaster scenarios, his consult was free and he put me at ease with his forthcoming information and dedication to detail. 1st appt: Brian was almost an hour late for his appt to set up mouse traps in the attic and did not inform us he was running late. This caused us some stress as my roommate needed to leave for work and was risking being late to work due to Brian's tardiness. 2nd appt: Brian was an hour late (again) and did not call or contact us to inform us he was running late. I contacted him asking where he was and if he was still coming, and his response was that he got stuck at the office and was running late (but didn't bother to let me know). I could no longer wait, and had to leave for work, so we had to re-schedule the appt for today. Today (3rd appt): Brian no-showed. Didn't call, didn't text, didn't show up. Pinpoint was the first company I called seeking help with relocating skunks that were squatting in our crawlspace, with absolutely no idea what to do about it. Thankfully, I got a call back right away (I think his name was Brandon). He explained that they could help identify the critters but weren't licensed to remove them, and so referred me to a local company that could do it. Experience went like this: called and left a voice message on Thursday. No word. Called Friday and got someone who quoted me $85 for a bird nest removal and if there is a problem the cost of treatment would $185. I agreed and someone came on Saturday. When Brian arrived I showed him the location of the nest. Brian commented that it was "really high" and had to "call his supervisor." Brian returned to say he could do it but it's $185 and it's corporate policy. When I explained that was not what I was told and that Lloyd's pest control is $120 he all of sudden became upset. He rolled his eyes. He talked down to me. It was an overall poor experience. I don't recommend this company based on my interaction. I'll be calling Lloyd's to head out here and do the job! Update: an hour later we realized that Brian had left our gate open and the dog ran away. read more

He was honest, super helpful, and very fairly priced! He spent over an hour that he didn't charge for just to double check things, really trying to solve the problem and make sure that there were no signs of mites after treatment. Well Worth It! We hired Pinpoint when we first moved to the Carlsbad area, as we found we had a huge issue with ants and spiders. As soon as they started coming out, no issues any longer. After about two years, a neighbor suggested we were paying too much and could control the problem with another company. We switched. It wasn't long before ants started showing up regularly around the house. Our new company told us to call if we had any problems and they'd come right out and re-spray, which they did - twice. Literally two days later, we had "highways" of ants again. We cancelled the new guys and called Pinpoint back. Bill, the owner, was wonderful and explained exactly why the service we'd been using was unlikely to be successful spraying only once quarterly. He happily signed us up again and sent one of his sons out that afternoon to spray and get us "ant-free" again. More expensive than some others, but well worth it and a great family who is local and has been in the business for decades. read more

We had issues with ants, spiders and wasps around our property for years before contacting them, but ever since hiring them to regularly service our home, we don't have to deal with any of that. He then told me, thank goodness, it wasn't bed bugs and what kind of bug it was and how to get rid of it. This is the sign of a true good local business! Had a problem with some Bees that started a hive on the side of my house. Called up Pinpoint Pest Control. Brain answered, told him the problem, he a have a very good quote over the phone. 2 Hours later he was over and fixing the problem. Took him about 20 minutes to do his thing. I had a bird nest above our front door, and the birds and chicks were creating a huge mess. From the first phone call to end of service, Pinpoint was kind, professional, and thorough. Everyone I spoke with at the office while making the appointment was helpful and clearly explained the service options available for my situation. Josh, "The Bird Guy," came out and had a game plan in less than 2 minutes after seeing our nest problem. Josh and Drew took care of the nest (the birds flew away, luckily), and they bolted screening in to prevent future nests. The work they completed is very neat and well done; less than 45 minutes from start to finish; and they even power washed and brushed our front walkway to tidy everything up for me. I signed up a month ago for their ongoing pest control service for my new home in Escondido. My initial call with Richard was a stark comparison with Orkin. #1 I got a live person. #2 he really knew what he was talking about. #3 he took the time to understand my situation. #4 price was lower for same amount of visits/year. They sent Brian out the following week for initial service. I'm admittedly an ant-, mosquito-phobe and he took the time to assure my what he was doing would be effective (and explain how everything worked). The company represents everything that is great about small businesses! These guys truly care about customer service and are committed to doing the right thing. We just had a new situation with some kind of small black winged fly the past few days. We'll see how it goes (just took a pic and called them). Steve's reply to my review was as tone deaf as his two replies to my request for a retreat. I didn't ask for a retreat anywhere near the pond. All I asked was the palapa, fire pit, and trees in back of the pool be retreated because I had to walk through spider webs everyday since since they were here for the monthly service. I waited nearly two weeks so the treatment may have taken affect. I also had to ask the tech to pay special attention to those areas. Steve also replied their main goal was to keep pest from the interior of the house. That didn't help me enjoy and maintain my yard. My main issue with him was he as tine deaf, as his response to my review. Confirmed. I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more
