My mom came into town and tried this place and ate there. She is very picky with asian foods but she really liked it. She had gotten pad thai lunch special. She said prices are very good and portions are huge. She got my husband and I pad thai and drunken noodles. They were so good. In town for a retreat at The Oaks just up the way. Was hungry for dinner and was craving Asian food. Restaurant was busy with a lot of people ordering takeout so a great local business. For takeout I ordered the pad kee mao and Tom yum with shrimp. Pad kee mao level 4 spicy Tom yum level 3. To be honest the pad kee mao tasted really plain and under seasoned. Kind of felt like I was eating just plain noodle. Even with the spice. The Tom yum was SPICIER than the pad kee mao for whatever reason almost to where I couldn't eat it. The flavor was there but just way too spicy. I had a painful stomach ache shortly afterwards. 30 bucks and I can probably make 2 meals out of it but since my stomach hurts so bad I may have to trash it .. bummer. Seems to be family run and the workers were super nice and helpful. However not sure if I'd be back. read more

Excellent Thai food... not "excellent Thai food for Ramona"... excellent Thai food period. This is one of THE BEST Thai places I've found - and I have eaten a LOT of Thai food. It's everything you want in Thai food: that magical balance of heat, sweet, tart, and savory flavors that dance and sing on your tongue... hot and spicy curries, savory and comforty noodles, amazing tom kah, and delicious appetizers. I've eaten my way through at least half their menu and have loved everything I've tried. They are also wonderful about having gluten free options and substitutions for my gluten-intolerant husband - and at making it easy and stress free to order. Anyone who's dealt with celiac knows what a nightmare it can be to eat out - and this is one of the few places he feels comfortable and stress-free. I visited a friend who lives nearby and we ventured out to Pinto Thai Ramona for indoor dining. I am not adventurous when it comes to eating international foods so I selected the Pad Thai with chicken. Since I was unfamiliar with the level of heats, I got level 0. In retrospect, I should have got at least a 2 in order to add some spice. There wasn't too much flavor in the sauce. It tasted fine but needed a little zing. The cheesy crabs are to die for. If you like crab rangoon, you have to try these! Cream cheese with crab wrapped in phyllo dough, I am there. My friend ordered the Rad-Na (under the noodles section) and both of us were very surprised when it came out in a large bowl with tons of broth. We had to ask the waitress if she brought my friend the correct dish. We both thought that her dish was going to look like mine as it was listed under the noodles. Instead it looked like soup. She was very taken aback but she enjoyed it. She stated that she would order it again if it was on a cold day and she wanted a soup to warm her up. The Thai Tea with boba was really tasty. I would order that again. I was glad to see that the restaurant received a good influx of people during lunchtime. I enjoy visiting mom and pop places. Just a friendly suggestion -- add a new section to the menu listed - Noodle Soup - so future diners are not surprised by what they receive when this dish is more broth than noodles. read more

I ordered the tofu spring rolls and Thai iced tea-with tip it came to $20.85 To-go. expensive. I received 2 very dry spring rolls wrapped in plastic. Looked and tasted like they were premade 3 days ago. Lettuce and veggies and tofu inside dry, wilted, old and tasteless. Peanut sauce generic and jelly consistency. Same as last time. This is a regular to-go place for us, especially if the commute home is extra long. The service is always friendly, and they are great at packing up the food. Favorites are cashew chicken, pineapple fried rice, coconut curry, and several of their vegetable dishes. One dish I have had a bad experience with twice (including today) is their orange chicken, extremely chewy/gristly. I would suggest bypassing that one. But after years of trying many choices, that's the only unhappy choice out of scores of happy ones. Hope that helps others. read more

In a tiny obscure shopping center along Hwy 67 on the southern end of Ramona, this small Thai restaurant is a real find. It has a pleasant interior environment and friendly staff, and they serve generous portions of very good Thai food. Our table of four shared four spring rolls (different from Vietnamese with tons of lettuce and no noodles), a curry, and a menu special called "crispy Thai basil chicken". The spring rolls, which came with lots of peanut dipping sauce, were ok. The curry was very good. The crispy Thai basil chicken was really excellent. I have no idea how they managed to get Thai basil to be crispy, but it was. The chicken in this dish was also very crispy; the sauce was delicious; and it was very appealing-looking in the serving bowl. Our only complaint was that the spice level that they call "hot" wasn't hot at all. But they do have a chili cassette that includes Thai pickled chilis and ground dry chilis, so that worked. Bottom line: If you're in the Ramona area and in the mood for Thai, this restaurant is worth checking out. read more

I visit Thai restaurants all across the United States and Pinto is pretty top-shelf. I've been eating here since it was Thai Time back in the day. Always excellent service and lovely atmosphere. Even take-out is great. I always say that Asian food makes the best take-out, which has unfortunately been a "thing" over the last year. My favorite things to order here is their Pad Thai, fried rice dishes and curries. Alway excellent, solid choices. The only thing I've had that I didn't care for was the Pad Kee Mao. In my humble tiny opinion this is one of the best spots in Ramona to eat at. The staff is always inviting and friendly, it's always kept clean, the food is flavorful and portioned well. We usually order pad see ew, yellow curry, or Penang curry, tom yum soup, and pad prik king (spicy vegetable), and everything is always so very good. I cannot compliment this establishment enough, they do a stellar job at preparing and running this establishment. Honestly drove by this place on my way to Anza B. and thought "ew, that's doesn't look good" (it may have been because of ALL OF RAMONA, not just the building, so don't take it that the building was gross... just didn't think such a great Thai gem was in Ramona) but my boyfriend suggested it on the way back and offered to buy if I said yes... so we went. I was so surprised, the dining area is so cute & clean with a big bushel of flowers and pretty decor, service was super kind, and it was some of the BEST Thai food I've had in the US. I'm a little bit of a Thai food snob, and tend to be disappointed, but this was genuinely delicious. The food was fresh, full of veggies and spice, there were fresh spicy peppers in our dishes and I left satisfied and wishing they were located closer to SD city. We ordered the Tom Kha with 4 spice, Spicy Noodles with 4 spice, and green curry & a singha... so good!
