The spreads are amazing!! So many to choose from! We got everything bagel with green onion lox. And my son wanted salmon so the staff was nice enough to slice up quarter pound for him. It's a small place, but enough seating for about 16 people. The bagels are definitely soft chewy! read more

I was super excited to try the bagel here because of all the reviews. I had the pumpernickel everything with the Lox scallion cream cheese. The bagel was OK. Definitely not fresh or fluffy or terribly tasty. oh well. at least the service was really nice and quick. read more

This begal place is pretty unique. Apparently they have only been open for 4 months and I find it unique that this Bagel place has a Latin twist to it. I usually would order Bagel with salmon but decided to go with their Solely Sandwich menu and ordered the California! The service was quick and ambiance was like a local begal store. I have to say I was glad that I tried something new today and for the California Bagel! It came with avocado, chicken breast and bacon! It did tasted like California with these combination! This place was around the corner from our hotel in Manhattan. We loved it so much, we went back for brunch every day during our trip. The bagels are really very good and the ingredients/accoutrements are fresh. Love that we didn't have to stand outside and line up for our food. read more

Just a short walk from our hotel, we went here twice for bagels. Best to ask them to go easy on the cream cheese, our first time we didn't know better and they're very generous with it. Get there early or you'll run out of options quick. read more

Been here twice- one for a bagel and cream cheese and one for a Too Good to Go pickup. Pricing was steep for the bagel (cheese, bacon, and green onion bagel with garlic cream cheese was $10). That said, it was yummy. Too good to go was a good deal- $5 for a wrap and some chips. However the wrap was a bit heavy/saucy for my stomach and I didn't feel well after eating it. I'd recommend for a bagel if you don't mind spending a little more, but skip the wrap! Service was quick both times which was a plus. read more

The selection of spreads is great, but I just went with the classic lox spread. It tasted good... a bit more toasted than I asked for, though. You can tell that this bagel place cares a lot about the customer experience, however, with a bunch of nice seating, including near a window. Food came out super duper quick too, even though business was bustling. There are an array of juices offered, including large cups of fresh OJ. Probably the best bagel place around this area. A different bagel store refused to sell their gluten free bagels untoasted. At least they didn't give me food that I couldn't eat. I will not be going back to NYCB&CH anytime soon because that experience left a bad taste in my mouth...literally. But if I do I will make sure to check my bagel before I go.

Started my quest to find the best bagel in NYC at Pio Bagel, and honestly, this is going to be a tough act to follow. These bagels are made fresh on-site, and you can tell - they're perfectly soft when toasted, with none of that chewy disappointment you sometimes get elsewhere. The cream cheese is top-notch quality, not the usual stuff. What else sets this place apart? The efficiency. You're not stuck behind a line of tourists trying to decode bagel culture for the first time. Get in, get your bagel done right, get out. No fuss, no crowds. The hotel staff recommended it - and they were literally heading there themselves when they told me about it, which says everything. When the locals who work in the neighborhood choose it for their own breakfast, you know you're onto something good. The bagel competition continues, but Pio has set the bar high. read more

The employee even added napkins into our togo bag for us, and there were free stickers at the pickup location. We walked down the street and found some tables and started munching on the bagels, and this is when I learned that the rumors are true. New York does have the best bagels out there. The bagel itself was soft, chewy, and bouncy. I could not get over how phenomenal it was. On top of that, they are very generous with the amount of cream cheese. It was so filling, I only ate about half before saving it for later. (BTW- even after it was in the fridge for a few hours it was still soft, chewy and bouncy!) The quality for both the bagels and the cream cheese were top notch, and I would definitely come back for breakfast if I had the chance. The only thing that was as little bit of a bummer, was my rainbow bagel did not come out as colorful as my partner's. While I totally understand we care more about taste than looks, and every rainbow bagel's design will be unique - I was just jealous his was prettier haha. Oh well. There's always next time to try to get a prettier bagel!
