One can't ever say that I am not a cheap date! Last night husband and I had a pre-movie dinner at Piola for $25 and enjoyed it very much. Granted our meal included a free Margherita Pizza with our Yelp check in, an $8.95 value-great deal!!!! We also had a Carbonara Pizza ($12.95), Chicken Caesar Salad ($11.95), and still had plenty to take home. Both pizzas were great. Piola's pizzas are all individual sized but they are pretty big. The crust is super thin and for me, they have just the right amount of sauce and cheese. The toppings are very subtle. I could barely taste the egg and bacon on the Carbonara Pizza. On another visit, we got the Parma Pizza with roasted eggplant and I remember it being a little light on the topping as well. Being a pizza purist however, the Margherita Pizza is still my favorite. Be aware that Piola does not have a full Italian menu. Pizza is the real star here. There are however some Antipasti, five meat dishes, salads, and a few pastas. We have tried the gnocchi which is fantastic. I even believe that once a month Piola has an all you can eat Gnocchi night. Dangerous! Piola also had many other specials to watch out for. I think if kids come in their school uniforms at a certain time they can get a discount. There is also live music at on some nights. One night we saw a singer who was truly talented and a joy to listen to. The service was polite and fast. Pedro took great care of us but if we needed anything, all staff members did not hesitate to come by. I truly appreciated that we came in an hour before our movie and we were able to make it out in time without a problem. For an informal, quick and easy meal, Piola does not disappoint! I came with a small group of people and ordered the Italia and Margherita pizza as an appetizer. It was so delicious!! We ordered: Gnocchi Legnano: first time having gnocchi... It was okay, but the sauce was very good. Pollo Piola: so good! My favorite out of the three main dishes. The sauce was amazing and the potatoes was perfect. Pollo Alla Parmigiana: it was okay, but not my favorite chicken Parmesan. The waiter accidentally made a mistake with the bill, but he made up for it with complimentary Tiramisu. Piola was a great! I've only been here twice and each time ordered different pizzas (so this 5 star review applies only to the pizza, although I'm sure the actual dishes here are just as great). Upon entering you notice that the environment is festive with bright colors and inviting. Being seated each time was a breeze no wait. The staff here are extremely friendly and knowledgable they offer honest advice with a smile. At any pizzeria you should expect parmesan cheese but this place gives you the freshest one I have ever had in any resturant, and the best part is it's on the table! (nothing is worse than being ask would you like some cheese? and they come out with the little hand grinder and say tell me when to stop) Besides Piola using thee freshest ingredients they bake their pizza to perfection! When I went in for lunch, it was just a couple families and businessmen on their lunch break. The inside ambiance is really nice with colorful lamps hanging from the ceiling and spacious booths and tables. You can see the open kitchen where they bake the pizza. The epitome of fresh out the oven. Ordered the Copenhagen pizza because my mom was in the mood for white pizza. Having pizza without tomato sauce is an entirely different experience. I went to the location the first day it reopened after closing due to COVID restrictions. Inside, they had tables on what was available and which were not. Outdoor seating is available, which is we sat with no one else eating outside. They do have an updated menu, which I have attached. Everyone gets their own pizza, personal sized yes but that does not mean small. The hubby loved his meat pizza but I am all about them mushrooms, no need to come to a mutual agreement on toppings. I have passed this place numerous times when I'm catching a flick at Cinemark. This time around I decided I needed sustenance before sitting through a three hour movie and a $20 popcorn and coke combo was out of the question. I walked in to discover a dimly lit yet festive atmosphere. The hostess was warm and inviting. I actually felt welcomed when I walked in and oils to help but smile. I chose to sit at a high top table near the bar and it wasn't too long before my server greeted me. Again I felt welcomed. I want to take a moment to give the staff here major props. Everyone was helpful, polite and engaging. You never felt like they were just going through the motions. My server explained the specials and while I'm not much of a drinker I decided to order the kiwi mojito. It was refreshing and for $5 you couldn't go wrong. I opted for the Margherita pizza and the guacamole which I was surprised to see on the menu of a pizza joint. Again, I have to give credit to my wonderful server who asked if I wanted the guacamole served first or with the pizza. I asked to receive the app first and she gave me plenty of time to finish the app before asking the kitchen to fire up my pizza. The guacamole was surprisingly delicious. Their guacamole was better than some of the Mexican restaurants I've been to! It was paired with perfectly toasted bread. My pizza was cut into four slices and was slightly larger than a personal pizza. If you love pizza and come with an appetite you can eat this all by yourself with no problems. The pizza was thin crust and pretty good. I would have liked slightly more flavors. It wasn't bad but needed more of a kick. Overall, I would definitely return to Piola when I'm in the area. I would like to check out the rest of the menu which included salads, pasta and a variety of pizza combinations. What made the night spectacular was the attention we got from the servers to the Assisting Manager "Gregory Ríccuíullí" Usually managers come to your table and you can tell they're like forced to interact with customers... Not this gentleman!!! Gregory "the manager" in our eyes is a smart, ambitious, down to earth man that by the end of our dinner we felt like we were family... I would give this person countless stars for his interaction with us, being patient helping us with the menu. Suggesting items like if he himself was gonna eat dinner with us. He gave us a little bit back story of his life... Amazing experience i cant say enough about Greg. I wish more servers or managers at restaurants would be like more like Greg! My best friend and I went here and we enjoyed the sangria which was only $5.00 each at that time and she had the gnocchi with cheese and I had the #126 Miami Beach pizza w/ spicy pepperoni. The food was good the flavors were nice but I felt like the gnocchi needed to be seared in the pan before being coated in the cheese other than that it was okay.
