Lived in Beverly Hills for over 40 years. Always go to Pioneer first. I am a fixit type of guy. Staff at the store are knowledgeable about their wide variety of hardware items, know what they have and where to look, know proper use of the desired item, will make effective alternate suggestions, pleasant, and not slow pokes . Store is clean, neat, and well organized. Easy public structure parking with easy store access. Better first stop than Home Depot where you have to wander around to find a knowledgeable staff person who then sometimes exactly knows where the item is located and its best use. read more

I like this place, because it has almost everything in such a small place. The customer service is awesome and it's easy because it's super close to work, the post office, and whole foods. I always make key copies here, even though it's a bit expensive, it's convenient. My only issue with it is that it's a bit pricey. But hey, its in Beverly Hills. read more

These mom and pop hardware stores are hard to find these days with the Home Depots of the world popping up everywhere. Although they cant compete with the big chains on pricing, they offer great customer service and convenience. I went in there to buy a few loose ends, and their staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Its perfect if you need a small something and dont want to venture out to the big boys. read more

I would highly recommend Pioneer Hardware as a great place to shop for kitchen items, candles, practical gifts along with basic household items like light bulbs, nails etc. plus the staff are very resourceful and willing to tackle a problem. I went there to have them look at a walker that had a loose knob. I had gone to a medical supply store and they had told me that I would have to buy a new walker that the knob could not be replaced nor the problem solved. However, the staff took the time to try different ways to solve this issue and presto-one of the ways worked. Now we do not have to buy a new walker and the old one is as good as new. I can't thank them enough. I could never have gotten this kind of service at a Home Depot, Lowe's etc. read more

I had copies of keys made and had to go back a few times to have them adjusted, they were very helpful by coming to my studio to check the locks and fix the copies for me so I didn't have to go out of my way. very understanding and nice! read more

I had a peculiar problem - removing a broken wooden dowel from a piece of furniture - and they offered very helpful advice and all the tools and materials I needed to do the job, at reasonable prices. We were looking for a handyman for a multitude of projects in the house. I ended up calling Pioneer Hardware in Beverly Hills (www.pioneerhardware.com) and spoke with the owner Jeff to see if he had any suggestions for a great handyman in the Valley, specifically Sherman Oaks area. Jeff told me that he has handymen located throughout the city that have worked for him for many years. He had Ed call us (as he is in the Valley) and after explaining our wish-list of things to get done, we made a date. Ed was on time and to say the least, very experienced & very fast. He exceeded our expectations and we already have part II in the works for more things that we plan on doing in our home. It's always such a great feeling to have faith in a vendor and Jeff/Pioneer Hardware is absolutely the go-to place for anything/everything hardware but also finding GREAT handymen to do the work...the right way and trustworthy!!! For the past 5 years, I've worked just a few blocks away from Pioneer Hardware, so I have frequented this store many times. This is not your big box hardware store, thank God. Each and every one of the employees are not only friendly, but knowledgeable as well. But today succeeded my expectations. I came in not really knowing what I needed. The kind gentleman patiently listened as I explained the problem and showed him pics of the situation. He gathered that all I needed was a different length screw. So, he proceeded to give me two different options to try for free! Now, I'm not suggesting that you expect handouts, but the screw that I needed was super teeny tiny, and he wasn't positive that would fix the problem. But he was generous enough to do his best to help me find a solution. I just got home, and boom...that little screw fixed the problem and I couldn't be happier. My review is long overdue, but this place has always pulled through for me! Highly recommend!! read more
