a chicken sandwich with coleslaw and pickles
Adalynn R.

Today was my first time trying Pippin's and I was a little disappointed. I've been in the area my whole life and saw that they have been here before I was born so I knew it had to be GREAT. I called in a to-go order because the online ordering didn't let you add a drink, and I didn't want to pay online and then another dollar and change in person for a drink. When I arrived the staff was very friendly. I added a bbq sauce on the side, and was bummed to see they only had mild and hot bbq sauce to add, but on the tables they had many more to chose from. I guess that's just the perk of eating there. The restaurant was clean and quaint, nothing fancy but it was fitting. I got a bbq chicken plate with coleslaw and Mac n cheese. At first I didn't love the coleslaw, but it did grow on me. The Mac was probably some of the best Mac I've ever had. I added a half a shake of pepper and it was perfect. Like worth going back just for Mac n cheese perfect. The chicken was underwhelming, it was chunky and bland even with all the bbq sauce- and was sitting in what looked like water in my to-go box. I wouldn't order the chicken again, but I would go back to try the bbq pork. My meal also came with a bag of chips and 2 slices of plain white bread. All in all I enjoyed it! Portions were big and price was right. I got my chicken, 2 sides, 2 slices of bread, bag of chips, drink, and sauce on the side for $13.99. I hope the pork is better than the chicken!

Kinda small a portion for 9 bucks. Pulled pork.

Maaaaan idk what the hell was wrong with that brisket it was chewy and stringy I took it back... I couldn't eat that. I also got a pulled pork my spouse said it was mushy but I guess it was OK. Ummm yeah.

Yummy!!

Last year, while at a cookout at our friends place, he picked up coleslaw and Brunswick stew from Pippins.

COME HUNGRY! We have passed by so many times and it just wasn't a time to eat and it smelled so…read moregood and you could hear the music blaring. The portions are real man sized so be prepared. At first I thought the prices were a little high but then I saw what all we got and it was well worth what they charge. We actually were confused at first by the Vegan trailer outside. I assumed they cooked in the house and sold out of the food trailer but that is a whole separate business, when I asked for meat they said "over there." We went inside the house and we were greeted by 2 nice beautiful ladies that explained all our questions, as it was our first trip in, and we put our order in. There is a good bit of room inside if you want to dine in but we were on the road so Togo it was. We ordered the 2 ribs lunch, a half rack which was 6 bones and the pork sandwich. I got the hot bbq on the half rack and it was actually medium in hotness just fyi. I'm not a huge fan of beef ribs because most people can't get them tender enough but TOH did the deed and they were fairly tender. We will be back again to try other options.

A Taste of Heaven Rib Shack - Honest Review…read more I ordered the chicken, potato salad, mac and cheese, and cornbread, and I really expected the food to be off the chain, especially being from New Orleans where flavor is everything. The service was fine, but the food itself missed the mark for me. The seasoning was bland, the sides didn't have that homemade taste I was hoping for, and shortly after eating, I started feeling nauseous, which was disappointing and concerning. I wanted to love it, but the meal just didn't live up to the name or the hype.

This rating is long over due as we visited back in March but had to come back and finish this…read morereview. First time visiting Atlanta and had to stop by and try out this highly rated establishment and so happy I made it part of my list. We arrived towards the end of the night with enough time before closing but obviously not realizing there are a few dishes that sell out so keep that in mind. Nevertheless service was stand out once we walked in and were kindly greeted by the host. We then sat down at our table and were then greeted with our server Tiffany. Let me just say we need a Tiffany everywhere, this girl really went above and beyond and truly welcomed us and genuinely was just a pleasure to interact with through out the whole visit. She really wanted to give us the best experience and recommendations for our first visit and let me just say everything was amazing and the service was top tier, such a great place with a great atmosphere, service and amazing food. What more can you ask for. She would def be the reason we visit Atlanta again and go back to eat here.

As a new Atlanta resident, I'd heard the line was long but food would be good and worth hanging out. We arrived at 430pm on Thursday, no wait, had a pleasant waitress who let us ooh and ahh for a bit before deciding on our choices.

This is not your traditional BBQ, but is what you would consider Asian fusion BBQ…read more We were seating immediately upon entering the restaurant. Service was good. Food was good. Plenty of free parking and they have indoor and outdoor seating There were three of us dining but we all pretty much ordered the same thing except one person ordered the collard greens (vinegar based). We didn't order dessert but there was some beautiful looking cakes that I will try on my next visit

I don't normally write reviews because I usually overlook minor issues. Mistakes happen, especially…read moreduring busy times. What matters most to me is how they're handled. A sincere apology and a willingness to make things right usually ends the conversation. Unfortunately, this experience deserves a "PLEASE BEWARE." When we arrived, we were greeted promptly, and the host seated us at a high-top table near the bar. We asked if we could move to another table, and he accommodated us without hesitation, which we appreciated. However, the new table had just been wiped down and was still soaking wet--so wet that our cloth napkins became damp from sitting on it. We had to ask someone to come dry the table before we could settle in. When it was time to order, we learned that several menu items were unavailable. Over a holiday weekend, that's understandable. What wasn't understandable was our server's response. Instead of simply apologizing, he became defensive, explaining that it was the Fourth of July, they had been busy, and one of the unavailable items was one of their staples. His tone came across as if we were inconveniencing him by asking a reasonable question. Sensing the interaction was heading in the wrong direction, I asked for his name and thanked him in an effort to ease the tension. When our food arrived, one of the side dishes was incorrect. We informed the food runner, who immediately apologized and brought the correct item. That's exactly how customer service should work--acknowledge the mistake, apologize, and fix it. No issue there. After we finished eating, our server cleared only one tray from the table, leaving the other. He then brought the check, but half of the receipt was wet. At that point, we just looked at each other. It was another example of poor attention to detail. Another employee walked by, and we asked if we paid at the register. She offered to take the payment herself, which we appreciated. By then, all we wanted to do was pay and leave. As she took the check & card for payment, she asked how everything was. We hesitated and simply said, "It was okay." She asked again and once again; We hesitated and simply said, "It was okay." She asked yet again and said that if there was a problem, she was the person to tell. Based on her tone and body language, however, it felt more confrontational than welcoming. The person paying explained our concerns: Several menu items were unavailable. One side dish came out incorrectly. The receipt was delivered soaking wet. Unfortunately, every concern was met with an excuse rather than an apology. For the unavailable menu items, we were told they had been busy and there were other things on the menu. For the incorrect side, the response was that the kitchen was busy and they could have just swapped it. For the wet receipt, we were told it could have gotten wet in the back or from the table, followed by, "Do you want us to print another one?" At no point did we receive a genuine, "I'm sorry." That's what made this experience so disappointing. Every issue by itself was minor. The problem wasn't the mistakes--it was the dismissive attitude and complete lack of accountability. Customer service isn't about never making mistakes; it's about how you respond when they happen. If you're going to encourage customers to share their concerns, be prepared to actually listen instead of becoming defensive. We could have quietly paid our bill and left. Instead, the interaction convinced me to write this review because the service felt dismissive, unapologetic, and unprofessional--especially if the person responding to our concerns was, in fact, the manager.
