Best seafood buffet my family has had in a while! Every time we come down, we have to hit up a buffet with crab legs on the bar, and I am happy to say that this will be our new regular spot! Not only did they have the BEST crab legs in Myrtle Beach (they were always hot and fresh, and seasoned just right), they also had steamed, broiled, and fried oysters on the bar! The service and the atmosphere was great, and every thing we ate did not disappoint! My only complaint would be that they didn't have ice cream, but that's just because I'm an ice cream fanatic! I am not sure why there are so many great reviews for this place. Which is one of the reasons why we chose to eat here. The food was GROSS. Fried food was rubbery and dried out, baked seafood was questionable, meat items were tasteless and dry. The only editable item was the crab legs...which are hard to mess up!! After my husband got sick in the bathroom after his second plate and I tried multiple items we wanted a refund since this is pretty expensive for food that is making you ill! General Manager said since we had more that one plate (aka trying to find something editable) that we could not get a refund. SO $80 later and we are both sick. Oh was also told by hostess that food poisoning doesn't kick in for 24 hrs, so I'm sure they make their money by not having to worry since it's out of their establishment at that point. First off I read a lot of reviews before deciding on this place. Even though some reviews for this place were negative, my family and I took a chance on it. We are SO GLAD we did! It was a cool experience. The mermaid was very nice to our kids!! They still talk about her. Food was good and plentiful! No wait and they kept the crab legs coming!!! This wasn't my favorite. Out of all of the food I got the only things I enjoyed was the crab legs and mozzarella sticks. Everything was cold and it wasn't cooked properly. Their crab cake fell apart all over my dress and it tasted even worse. The shrimp tasted more like a dead rotten fish than a delicious fish. Just threw up all over my car, if you want to spend $90 for you and your boo to regret your life decisions and get a tummy bug then kiss this tourist trap's ass! They would be glad to take advantage of your tourist vulnerability. This made Golden Corral sound like your wettest sex dream imaginable. And when we only ate one plate and reasonably asked for some sort of arrangement they still charged us enough to get.. I don't know probably 400 chicken nuggets at Mickey D's. Great food and atmosphere! Worked out great for us even with small kids. Our 2 3 year olds have talked about the mermaid all week since.

The food was good. The service was great, lots of food if you are a big eater. If not its probably not for you. If you are, the seafood was great and the other food and sides were good as well. The desserts were just so-so. read more

Don't get me won't they are clean, service is great and lots of options but overall food experience was ok. I wasp better off going to a restaurant with higher quality food. My daughter was disappointed because there was no mermaid show. We asked and we were told mermaids are not always there. Tables are very close up next to each other, no space to move your chair back. I was charged $20.00 teenage price for my 7 year old daughter instead of $11.00. I didn't notice till we left the restaurant. There was a few pirate decorations and small pool with no mermaids. drinks are not included. All said and done walked out paying $170.00 for two adults and one child including tip and tax. My daughter that barely ate because the Mac and cheese looked like soup. Tips: the hotels offer discounts get a discount because full price is not worth it. While on vacation in Myrtle Beach we went in search of a good seafood restaurant. There are several options available but A restaurant with live Mermaids, of course I am going in. I really dislike buffets, because the thought of multiple unwashed hands going near my food grosses me out. But when my son saw the pirates statue outside so there was no turning back. The inside is decked out like a pirates ship. Mermaids are in a pond as soon as you walk in. Really cute set up if you are dining with kids or a kid at heart. My 1 year old was so fascinated she wouldn't stay away from the mermaids. The buffet was $37, included all you can eat snow crabs. I would have expected more food options for the price, the only option for was prime rib and there was no one at the station so all was cooked medium. Food was very good! Atmosphere was amazing and unique! Their staff is dressed as pirates and they have live mermaids for the kids. However, they didn't tell us the price of 2 adults to eat at the buffet when we arrived. The bill ended up being over $100 for 2 adults buffet, a sweet tea, and a strawberry daiquiri. Very overpriced! Be ready to spend an arm and a leg on regular seafood. I spent less at the fancier seafood restaurant on the beach. read more

This is ultimately my favorite place to eat at when I'm on vacation. I have been here since I was little, and visit every time we come to Myrtle beach. I love their buffet with lots to choose from. I enjoy that the crab legs are included in the buffet and are always hot and juicy. They have a wide variety of seafood and deserts. Food is always on point and fresh. It's cute to see the mermaid and have the photographer's come around for a complimentary photo. Staff is usually friendly. The environment is fun and family friendly. I love the decor, cleanliness, and employee attire that the restaurant upkeeps. Will definitely be back again during my next beach trip! read more

My husband and I travel very often and find it hard to find good decent restaurants that are not so expensive. This is the type of restaurant we have been searching for. So, while staying in Surfside last week, we decided to hit The Pirate's Table seafood buffet. It had great reviews. But, not from us. The only decent, edible things on the buffet were the crab legs. Most other things on the buffet were overcooked, over salted and under seasoned. For the price of the buffet ($56 for adults, $30 children) and all the stars on Yelp, we thought it would be better. We were headed to Crabby Mikes but didn't feel like waiting over an hour and this restaurant was close by with no wait don't get me wrong it was busy just a very large place. The atmosphere was fun my kids loved it. They had live mermaids. My kids loved the verity of food they were offered. I am not sure the buffet was worth the 35.99 for an adult plus 3.50 for a drink. I know that's the going rate for the seafood buffet but it was the same price as crabby mikes and captain Georges and I have never heard of this place. We come to Myrtle every year. This is the absolute best seafood buffet. Huge selection and the best crab legs. Awesome and friendly staff!!

The Seafood House has definitely had a huge upgrade since the last time we visited. The buffet is enormous! There is something for everyone. The crab legs were abundant and always stocked. Everything was fresh and delicious. My daughter particularly enjoyed the live mermaids that were swimming in the tank. The price is steep though. For 2 adults and 1 child, with tip was close to $120. That's much more than we usually spend on dinner but this was very good with an enjoyable atmosphere. read more

We weren't planning on trying out a seafood calabash because the prices were pretty steep and we didn't think our 7-year-olds would be able to eat that much since they are extremely picky eaters. We fell across this one due to an unforeseen circumstance and got a chance to eat here during our trip and we are so happy that we did. This place is amazing! I've been here multiple years and this year has noticeable differences. The crab legs looked bad and they were not the quality from previous years. The shrimp was not tasty as before. I'm not sure if they have new management but if so, please don't sacrifice quantity over quality, it will make a difference. This is the worst "AYCE crablegs" I've been too....only 1-buffet line and hardly anything on there is worth mentioning. The prime rib was cooked to death, She crab soup was lumpy, no damn ice cream on a so called dessert bar, no veggies on this pitiful line of what a buffet supposed to be, only a small amount of items on the salad bar and I say that very loosely, then on top of that half the staff can't speak English. So I'm having to point to stuff on the menu and around the resturaunt to get things accomplished. We usually go to Captain George's but decided to try the Seafood House because it also had 4-star rating. We were optimistic but really disappointed. The fried oysters tasted good but were cold. The baked scallops did not taste like s scallops. There was no fried green shrimp - just tiny popcorn shrimp and heavily battered flat shrimp. The crab legs and steamed oysters were good. Most of the items on the buffet were not hot. The service was good. We will be going back to Captain George's tomorrow. read more

Don't be deceived by the pictures. I hate to say this because they are trying, when it comes to service, but the food was a definite 1 star. Crabs were way over cooked and dry. The buffet was flavorless and nothing special about it. For the amount of money you pay, it was extremely disappointing ($28.99 for adults, $14 for 10+ and $6.99 for 5 and under. Drinks not included $2.98 each). They give you pricing when you are seated. We only saw one mermaid pool with two mermaids in it. Decor was fun but outdated. Also, they don't take American Express, not that it really matters, just a heads up. Oh, and they don't know what yelp checkin coupons are. Go figure. I'm not sure how this place keeps getting a 5 star review. If you've ever been to a buffet, this one is more of a lower end. There was barely a selection. Everything was over cooked and over salted.
