Mmmyeah. Pi's is descent. I order food there for many company lunches and events. Sometimes the staff is very nice, sometimes they are rude. As a vegetarian, I like that you can sub tofu for any meat in any entre. They offer some Thai and other Asian treats. It's always busy. NEVER order the buffet. Buffets suck. read more

Pretty crappy Asian cuisine. The staff is backhandedly rude. Everything seems like an inconvenience to them. I wanted 2 mustard packets, not a hard accomidation from a pick up order. Soups are enough to make you lose your appetite. Egg Snot Soup, or Sweet & Spicy Vomit? If you must eat here choose the Crab Rangoons (named crabmeat cheese). The Korean section of the menu is your best bet. Bibimbop meat was nice. The other dishes are lacking in flavor and quality. Ordered this on a recommendation from a friend while in town on business. Ordered thru door dash. Specifically asked for utensils 3 times, as im in a hotel, asked for spicy. General Tso's spicy with chicken and shrimp. Extra eggroll, shrimp lo mein, eggdrop soup, wanted spicy mustard. Door dash did awesome! It was all downhill from there. No utensils. Eggroll, small soggy, no flavor, spicy mustard, not spicy, plain lo mein, flavorless. Soup was ok, but had to drink it without a spoon. General Tso's, sweet, mild,, too much breading, very small portion. For $21, I expected pretty good food. I wouldn't feed it to my dog, terrible, would give it zero stars if I could. Phillip L is, of course, completely accurate when it comes to Pi's. Midland has plenty of standard fare Chinese restaurants but I crave Pi's and basically MUST have it when I'm back in Midland. For the price, it can't be beat. I think Dow Chemical makes some secret chemical that Pi's puts in its food...it all just tastes so good! I think it's the sauces. I get so excited for the lunch buffet, I fast like it's the day before Thanksgiving, so I have enough room for all the different food. Usually the takeout standard in midland. This little Chineese restaurant is pretty good. I've been here for rehearsal dinners, takeout, and dinner, and they are all fantastic american/chineese food. So disappointing! I normally really like Asian Express, so I thought I'd like this place because this is their sister restaurant. I tried this place for the first time today to celebrate a birthday and I was very unimpressed. I assumed that at least some of the recipes would be the same at both restaurants, but they didn't seem to be. The crabmeat cheese (my favorite) tasted okay but they were cold. The szechwan chicken, which they don't serve at Asian Express, is normally a very spicy dish, but it was completely bland here. The fried rice was completely inedible because it was dry and flavorless, even when I added more soy sauce to it. My son got the brown rice and he said that was also inedible. Went out to Pi's on a Friday night. Dining room was busy but not crowded. I had the buffet, and wouldn't go that route again. Buffet food was not fresh, and of lower quality than what you normally get off the menu. The exception was the sesame chicken, it was great. My wife ordered sizzling rice soup and egg rolls off the menu. Soup was very good, and the egg rolls were homemade and twice the size of what was on the buffet. I will not eat the buffet again, but will go back to order off the menu. This is an average Chinese restaraunt, not great or bad. read more

I typically have Pi's food once or twce/per week. Typically we go in and have the buffet, but sometimes we will pick up takeout. The food is very good. Yes, it is "Americanized," but that is how I prefer it. The crabmeat cheese are awesome and so are all the other dishes I have had. Service is fair. Occasionally, if you come during an odd time, (not a typical meal time), for instance at 3pm or maybe 8pm, etc, the buffet is often quite low. However, excellent food that I enjoy often. read more

Absolutely love this place. We love that their is rarely a wait for a table even for a family of 6. We never feel out of place with the loudness of the kids. And everybody leaves with full bellys! Great Chinese food!! read more

Egg rolls, General Tsao's Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Sweet and Sour etc. Clean, well-monitored buffet. One server seemed slightly unprofessional, half-heartedly responding to a request for hot mustard. The food is OK -- some things good, some things just fair. I'm giving it a low grade partly because of service, which was particularly snippy on a recent visit. But the main reason I'm giving it just 2 stars is the presence of four flat-screen TVs in the main dining area. Is this really necessary? Must we have TV everywhere we go? As an FYI, I have to completely disagree with jason p. and his claim that Pi's is "standard." It is anything but! Best Sesame Chicken and Crab Cheese! The Princess Chicken is very tasty and the buffet is well stocked and clean. They have a huge seating area and there is never a wait to be seated. They also have a great family special Sunday through Thursday. read more

Pi's has the best Chinese buffet in Michigan in terms of quality. We live in the Metro Detroit area which unfortunately has no good Chinese buffets so we always make a point to stop at Pi's when we are in the Midland area. "Mr. Pi" needs to branch out to the Metro Detroit area and bring some of his Chinese goodness to our neck of the woods! The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. The Crab Rangoon is amazing and the Mu Shoo Pork, Princess Chicken, and Mongolian Beef are also very good. read more
