Came on a Sunday for lunch and there was ample parking in front of the restaurant. Inside was not too busy. All the food options looked good, ended up getting the hummus plate and breakfast burrito. Both were delicious. Pistachio latte was good as well, I liked how it wasn't overly sweet and had a good nutty flavor to it. Service was great. I think the manager was sitting at the table next to us doing her work, she checked in periodically to make sure everything was okay. The ONLY improvement I would suggest is adding more pistachio-related items to the menu -- especially since it's in the name! Maybe like pistachio pancakes/waffles, pistachio salad, etc. read more

A new bright cute restaurant in Cathedral Hill! They serve breakfast and lunch dishes. I wanted to try something new and opted for the Tantuni, a Turkish dish (the owner is from Turkey). The roll was pretty good! It's a decent size and quite filling with a good amount of meat. I rarely eat Turkish food, but I think the flavors were great. I only wish the fries were crispier and more seasoned. And maybe if the roll had a crunch to it. Overall, great spot. Service seems good too. Hidden gem in pac heights. Was in the area as my hubby was in the hospital (cpmc) so stopped by initially to see what they had on the menu. I was intrigued by the Tanturi Sando so decided to give it a try. It was delicious and I especially liked the seasonings. Their baklava looked amazing so got one to go. OMG seriously the best I've ever had. I'm not sure but I'm betting they are made in house as most I've had or seen elsewhere didn't even come close. It was so good that I went back the next day and tried the quinoa salad, another winner. To top it off the server came over and gave me another order of baklava on the house! I would highly recommend this place and do not skip their baklava. Take it to go if necessary but do-not-skip it!! All in all the food and service are top notch. I hate to say this because I'd been here twice before and liked it but their customer service is terrible. They are pleasant enough but completely rigid about adding a side dish or anything . And they don't even apologize for not helping. It's a repeated "we don't do that". No half orders, no substitutions and even if a diabetic wants to cheat a bit with a pancake added to a basic breakfast dish, the answer is No. you get the whole platter or nothing. This is a small restaurant that sits about 40 persons. Tables for two and four are spaced out. I like the high ceilings and the sunlight coming through the windows. It's a no frill restaurant with excellent wait staff who are patient, welcoming, pleasant and friendly. You place your order first, then you find your seat. Since we were a party of 5, they put two tables together and took our order from our tables. They did this also for a party of 8. The menu has a good selection of breakfast/brunch entrees that should suit everyone. Entrée prices are reasonable but I thought the beverage prices are rather high. Food is served temperature hot with a nice presentation. Serving is ample that is satisfying but not completely fill you up. The beverages have good presentation and absolutely delicious. Since the restaurant is named Pistachio, we tried everything that had pistachio. They even had pistachio milk which I never knew existed. The menu includes one Turkish sandwich and Turkish coffee. If you never had Turkish coffee, you should try it. It's not for everyone - the beans are finely ground and the grounds sink to the bottom of the cup; do not stir (otherwise the coffee becomes cloudy and does not taste good); and you sip rather than drink. If you want sugar, let the server know so it can be added when the coffee is made. My coffee came with a Turkish delight (jelly typed of candy with or without nuts). Street parking is nil during certain hours of they day. If you live nearby, give this restaurant a try. I don't think you will be disappointed. If you never been to Turkey or had Turkish food, order the Turkish sandwich and coffee and feel like you have been to Turkey. read more

Looks like they are a juice and smoothie place as well. I came for a Sunday morning brunch and took a look at their menu. Pretty extensive and covers everything you would would for at a breakfast place. You've got your coffees, teas, salads, soups, sandwiches, egg dishes, and much much more. I was hungry and sleepy so I got myself the steak and eggs to fill myself up and a good old cup of black coffee to wake myself up. Coffee was fresh, steaks were good, and eggs were cooked to order (sunny side up for me). Definitely had my eye on the breakfast burritos too and might try that next. Place is very filling and quite healthy. Slightly on the pricey side- I paid a little under $40 after tip and tax, but you definitely get what you pay for. read more

This is a peaceful, clean little cafe tucked on a busy street. Service is friendly, but perhaps because I arrived at 2:15pm and they close at 3p, I found staff was a little busy with closing duties and not as attentive as they probably are at other times. I ordered a BLT with added avocado (bringing the $15.50 sandwich up to $18.50), which was high in price but thankfully was prepared with fresh produce, crispy bacon, and came with a nice serving of delicious fries. They don't offer iced tea, which is my lunch go-to drink, so I bought a bottle of water before realizing they offer free self-service water :( When my food was ready, I saw it sit on the kitchen bar for awhile unnoticed, so I walked over to get it myself, but when staff saw me doing that, they apologized and gestured for me to sit back down and they'd bring it over. I also had to gently remind them that I'd ordered a bottle of water, which they then brought over to me as well. I think they were just distracted cleaning up. I appreciated that they didn't rush me out and said I could stay past closing if I needed more time to eat, but I was done by 2:45.... I would have relaxed there until 3p, but as I finished eating, one of the gentleman went outside to have a cigarette right near the door and the smoke drifted in and filled area where I was sitting. It probably wouldn't have bothered anyone else, but it was a bit unappealing to me. I think smokers are supposed to smoke 15' away from entrances in SF, surely because smoke easily drifts in as it did. read more

So me and my son decided to have breakfast and came across Pistachio Kitchen a few block from where we needed to go and man I can't tell you how great the food and service was. The owner Amed treated me and my son with some fresh Baklava and he definitely didn't have to do that. I would have given this spot a 100 if I could have.
