Pita Gyros offers Mediterranean-inspired fare and custom pizzas, and the Appetizer Combo Plate came with hummus, tzatziki, dolmas, grilled eggplant salad (which was on the oily side), Greek salad (lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, olives, feta), and a grilled pita. I will go ahead and give these guys and gals a five star! I love this place. their traditional lamb gyros are fantastic. Sometimes the meat is too thin and and gets little dry when it's cooked, but that's rare. All the toppings are fresh and they make it with care and always listen to the instructions very well. I go to this place at least once a week. I have had the Chicken Shawarma twice. The first time one of the managers cooked it and gave me half of his and it was dynamite. The second time it wasn't so good. I wish that manager would show them the correct way to make one. All in all I give them a five star. read more

It's too loud to hear the employee. There's only one employee who works there. Having such a location like this in an empty mall. It was hard for me and the employee for what we are saying like what I want to order and she gave me the wrong items. First time here; and Yelpers are right: solid food here. For $12.95, you can get a gyro plate with plenty of meat, on bed of rice, two pitas quartered, side shirazi salad, small container of cream and one for hot sauce. The gyro meat was moist and meaty; the pita was good and not dry. I recommend a small apple juice; I forget the price. Customer service: good and polite. Food was ready in 5 minutes. There seems to be less people every time we go to the mall. You can sense how hard it is for the businesses. But that doesn't stop the staff from being super sweet & kind! I've ordered from this spot twice now off of Relish for office catering, and I was pleased each time! I got a beef and lamb gyro plate the first time, which was very filling and I felt like it was good value for the price. This time I ordered a beef and lamb wrap, and it was oddly delicious considering the wrap was thin and not the pita bread I was expecting. Looking at other photos and that's the norm. Pita Gyros is the first Eatery in the food court you'll see when walking into Tanforan on the Bart side of the mall. I walked around the entire food court and this place called to me. It's something different. All that being said, how was it? The employees working here were really friendly and helpful when I was trying to figure out what to order. I decided on the lamb and beef wrap and Greek fries. About ten minutes pass by and I received my food. They do not skimp on portion size. The wrap was gut busting sized tube of joy, filled with vegetables, lamb, beef, and yogurt sauce. The Greek fries was a huge sharable portion of fries covered in parmensan. Gyro was bland and for the price. I was craving gyro and had high hopes for this place but was disappointed.

I decided to try this place out instead of getting my usual Panda Express. I was pretty disappointed! I ordered the chicken kebob plate with a scoop of hummus for $1 extra. The kebob was cooked fresh on the grill, but was a bit dry and seasoned minimally. The hummus seemed like it was watered down. It was very thin and seemed to not have enough chick peas and was bland as well! The pita was just ok and nothing special. The side salad lacked seasoning as well! The rice seemed to be uncle bens brand and most likely from a microwave. I will most certainly not be returning! I would not recommend this place to anyone ! read more

We only ever order two items from the menu but they're solid every time: lamb/beef wrap & the appetizer combo. My 2 year olds love the eggplant salad and the pita with hummus. This is the worst kebab in the world.I rarely leave bad review but I just can not wait one sec half way through this meal. First off, the beef kebab is sooo overcooked that can barely be chewed off. My jaw almost fall off but the beef is still good as one piece of Shxt. My cheek is still sore until now. Honestly I stood there and watched them cooking the kebab, waited for a long time only to get this one hundred year old chewy af beef. Needless to say the flavor there is no flavor from the beginning. Apart from that there is nothing more left to eat, the yogurt sauce is sour-in a bad way, I can tell it just went bad. The tzatziki sauce also lacked some flavor ---perhaps it needed more lemon or dill or something? It was still good but just lacked flavor. I did enjoy the rice and the salad! The salad was very refreshing and contained cucumber, tomato, lemon and parsley. The rice is simple rice, but it paired well with the salmon dish. The service was great. Came here at 11:30a on a weekday. Ordered a lamb/beef gyro plate and a gyro salad. (Photo is of the salad). Only difference between the two is the plate has rice, and the salad essentially had a double portion of salad instead of rice. Pros: * salad was fresh. Romaine base and a good amount of chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, parsley. Vinaigrette not overpowering. Crunchy and surprisingly good for a mall salad. * serviceable tzatziki * soft fluffy pita Cons: * I got there right as they were putting in the gyro meat on the rotisserie and it looked like they took our gyro meat from a steam table. It tasted pretty dry and old as a result. I assume if it were freshly shaved off the spit it would be better. It was on the salty side, even for gyro meat * rice on the gyro plate was unseasoned and bland. Plus the already-dry gyro meat, and only a tiny cup of tzatiki, it made me regret ordering the plate for my husband instead of just getting two salad plates I may try it again when the gyro meat is obviously fresh to give it a second try. I was impressed that for mall food, the salad had more than just limp romaine. Ideally the pita should be toasted a bit but I understand time limitations since it's just mall fast food. So let me clarify: when I said the food here lacked flavor, I was comparing it to literally every other Mediterranean joint I've tried - the two carts on Market Street, the expanding shop on Drumm Street, a list of restaurants in SF, Fremont, San Carlos, Burlingame, etc, and chains like the Halal Guys. There you have it. Take it or leave it, but my personal opinion is that it's the worst Mediterranean food. Honestly, I never would have expected to eat pizza at Pita Gyros because 1. Pizza at a Mediterranean spot didn't make much sense to me and 2. I didn't think it would be good. But not having many options at the time and craving pizza, I'm glad I decided to give it a shot. I'm not sure about anyone else, but I had a fairly good experience here. The pizzas only come in personal size, similar to Pieology or Blaze Pizza, where you have your custom-built pizza. You are given different sauce options and you can choose your toppings (they've got typical pizza toppings). You can either get two meat toppings or one meat topping and as many vegetable toppings as you want. I decided to go with pepperoni and all the vegetable toppings that were offered. The pizza was surprisingly decent. The crust could have used a bit more flavor, but being that this place is located in a mall, I didn't have high expectations. Sure, Pita Gyros isn't a pizza joint in North Beach, but this place had pretty decent pizza especially for not having 'pizza' in their name, lol..And for also being in a food court. Food is good but have had bad experiences multiple times .. workers didn't change their gloves after taking our money and scratching their hair before making our food . When we said something to them they got mad and argued they changed their gloves when we watched them the whole time. Second time we asked for no sauce because we don't eat dairy, we saw before they closed it and they made new ones right away. Upon finishing this remade pita wrap, I noticed green dots on the bread. We had a lamb and beef gyro pita and lamb and beef gyro plate. They're pretty much the same thing except the plate comes with rice. While the gyro isn't freshly cut the way traditional places do it, it was really good. Both come with a nice salad with lots of veggies. If you like some heat, I recommend their hot sauce.
