Once i came in, during lunch, the place was very clean, cool, and welcoming. i ordered the combination plate that comes with chicken and steak, a side of hummus and rice. My co workers and I came to the Pita House as one of our co workers will no longer be working with us and her celebration of new employment party was here as we are happy for her. Anywho, while she worked with us she enjoyed going to the Pita House so we had to treat her. This was my first time here at the Pita House now we previously this restaurant use to be Maria's burger bar which now Pita House took over. I'm not a huge Mediterranean food person but I have to say this place was delicious. I ordered the chicken swarma plate which came with pita bread that I used it as a swarma taco. It was so delicious. The meat was very moist and flavorful. The hummus was delicious...and the pita bread that came with it. I honestly felt healthy eating here. The rice was yummy...it was very fluffy and flavorful. The staff was very friendly and took our orders swiftly. The foundation drinks taste weird and the water but I'm so use to drinking bottled water as any other water makes me sick :/ Overall, my co workers and I enjoyed our time here together although it was bitter sweet but I was glad we had lunch together one more time as a team. I am looking forward to coming back and chowing down on more delicious food. If you have not gone I recommend you give this tasty place a try! read more

Always a great meal when visiting this wonderful madera location. The tahini sauce is very good and the quality and taste is definitely proven. Typical order is the shawarma beef wrap which comes as a substantial sandwhich. Ordered the garlic fries with feta and was really surprised at how tasty it was and not overpowering. This is a quick stop for lunch. The lamb was overcooked and a little tough, but good flavor. The house sauce that came on the side tasted a lot like ranch dressing. We went here while in Madera from out of town because of all of the good reviews and because we love falafel. Honestly, our experience was very disappointing. The young lady who was behind the counter and took our order was not very welcoming or friendly at all. Maybe she was having a bad day, but her energy certainly was anything but welcoming or a demonstration of being thankful that we chose to come there. Unfriendly service is always a bummer and puts a damper on any dining room experience. We ordered two falafel wraps with extra tahini sauce inside, and some tabouli. Although there were only two other tables with 2 people at each table there when we arrived, the food took longer then we thought it would. Our falafel came in a pita, folded taco style, and had small cut up pieces of falafel, not balls, some lettuce, tomato, and tahini sauce. Although we asked for and got extra tahini sauce it was very dry. The falafel wraps, not really a wrap, came wrapped in aluminum foil and served on a tray with 2 small containers of pickled beets, which we didn't care for, and two pieces of pita bread just placed on the tray. Receiving the pita bread on the tray with our meal was pretty weird, as it didn't come with anything to put on it. So, we ordered some hummus, at a whopping $4.00 for a very small container, so as to have something to put on the pita bread. The pita bread on the tray was soft and warm, but on our wrap, it was dry and not warm at all. The place did seem very clean, but to us, it just didn't have a warm and inviting vibe, and it was loud with a constant blaring of a TV sitcom on. No thank you. read more

A fast casual five stars... Local Mom and Pop place serving fresh, tasty, and inexpensive Mediterranean fare. We ordered takeout this evening and everything was ready in the stated timeframe. We had the chicken kebab wrap, beef Shwarma wrap, falafel wrap, and chicken kebab plate. The chicken items consisted of tender, well seasoned chunks of chicken breast sauteed with onions and peppers. The wrap included the chicken and veggies with lettuce tomato red onions and tahini sauce wrapped in warm pocket bread. The plate came with salad and pilaf and pocket bread and garlic sauce on the side. Salad was fresh with a punchy vinegar dressing and the rice was well seasoned and perfectly steamed. The falafel wrap consisted of the same veggies as the chicken wrap. The falafels themselves had very good flavor.. Not overly greasy... But just a little dense. The Shwarma had very tender strips of beef that were well seasoned however I don't think they use a traditional Shwarma rotisserie..I think they basically saute strips of marinated beef, nonetheless, quite tasty. Process are very reasonable, a few dollars less than most Mediterranean places... One of the regulars in line tipped me off to the lentil soup which he stated was the best he has ever had... Something for me to try next time.. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area. read more

Okay, I guess the one star is earned because the food tasted great...however when we arrived, I advised the cashier my wife was allergic to bell peppers, after asking if bell-peppers were present in the vegetarian falafel plate and being assured there were none. The cashier represented that they understood. I understand good help is hard to come by these days, but this is down right irresponsible. While my wife will merely be dealing with GI distress for the next 2-3 days, someone else could end up with a serious medical issue. Beware ! read more

Brand new Mediterranean restaurant in Madera. Stopped by to check them out and ordered the beef and chicken combo plate. The beef was medium cooked just the way I like it. Full of flavor and very tender. The chicken was tender and flavorful not dry like other places. Ths rice pilaf was cooked right and tasted good. House salad was excellent. Just the right amount of dressing and flavors. Included was a warm pita bread. The very best thing I liked was the sauces. The hummus was awesome!! It tasted fresh and full of flavors. I dipped everything on the plate with the hummus. Also tried the Garlic Sauce and boy was I blown away. It was delicious. This place is a quick serve restaurant so its quick and easy to order. The cook is the Dad, daughter runs the register. Parking is plentiful. Selection is great. It has only been open 1 week. The meat was so tender! I couldn't be more satisfied. I wanted to try the Baklava but I had to be good and not eat it for the fact of being more disciplined eating sweets. It's really hard to support small businesses when they lack customer service with really bitchy attitudes. I had called in for an order and let the cashier know that I will need separate tabs/checks. The cashier said that she was too busy to do that over the phone and can only be done at the restaurant, once I arrived at the restaurant, it was not busy at all.. I tried to add an extra sauce to my order and the cashier said that I couldn't add anything or she will have to restart the order... once we were done paying the different tabs, it turns out that there was an extra chicken plate added to our order, I tried to cancel the order and she said that I couldn't, I replied why not? I hadn't touched the plate or even paid for the plate itself, she went ahead and said... "But it's in the bag already" I was forced to pay for a plate that I had not ordered..... The cashier "MELS" needs extra training or sent to the back because her attitude is not it. read more
