Love the food here and tell all my friends to come here if they're in Chicago land burbs visiting. This is one meal that tastes just as good for a pickup order/takeout vs eating in store so I usually always do pickup. There is something special about their falafel balls compared to any other falafel place in Chicagoland area. Their red sauce is also delicious on everything. I put it in the sandwich, on my rice on top of the hummus etc... The falafel plate is enough for 2 and even lets you have leftovers. Their lunch special is a good deal as well. I really like getting the combination platter since I love having chicken and the beef shawarma and the falafel so you get to try everything. The only thing I wish this location did better was stop being stingy with their sauce and accurately reflect the sauce you asked for. Many times on pickup order, including 2 days ago, we ask for 5 sauces (1 per person) and got 3... if I'm in store I can go up and ask for more but in pickup orders you don't even know this until you get home. Stop being so cheap with the sauce, it's part of the reason people come to eat here. read more

Solid pita inn location. Almost identical to the one on Milwaukee in Glenview. Got a combination feast and a side of 3 falafels. Got 4 tahinis and 3 hot sauces (although only needed one hot sauce). Unbelievably generous portions of deliciously flavorful, fresh, authentic, healthy food! And it's affordable! More often than not, my Pita Inn meals last for more than a single sitting. There's lots of rice, lots of vegetables, and they are not chintzy on the meat. I've been eating at Pita Inn for a long time and have never been disappointed. Most times I get their Businessman's Lunch Combination. I like to rename it the "Businessman's Lunch and Dinner Combination", because the portion is so huge it lasts two meals. My favorites are the Kefta Kabob and the Spicy Chícken Tenders. Both are deliciously seasoned, tender, flavorful, and fresh. Stuffed grape leaves are a delicious accompaniment to any main course or sandwich. There are several Pita Inn locations. I've been to the ones in Wheeling, Niles, and Skokie. The Business Lunch Special for $6 is a great value for your buck. All of meats varieties on a bed of lettuce and rice pilaf. I like that the rice was not hard and cooked just right. The lettuce was fresh from the day. The flavoring of the meat is enough without being over empowering and the portioning was great. Not too little meat like some places. And the meat was not dry, it was moist and soft. Add a little chilly sauce and you'll have that zing to really add a touch of spice. This was my first time trying Pita Inn through carry-out from work. I liked that this dish special had a little bit of everything for a Mediterranean foodie newbie like me. I've been eating at this Pita Inn for decades and never reviewed it? The review is long overdue! Pita Inn does great Middle Eastern food and it's very affordable. Everything is cooked to order and fresh. Whatever you get will be high quality and delicious. I've always been a fan of the Businessman Lunch, a combo plate of their meat, with falafel, rice, lettuce, and tomato. It's served Monday through Friday from 11 - 3. My favorite meat is the kefta kabob. It's ground beef with some spices and I think onion. It's very tender, delicious, and addictive. The chicken breast is nicely marinated and grilled. Sandwiches are very big and delicious. I've had the hummus and baba ganouj and fans of those items will be very happy with the Pita Inn versions. Super tasty and great texture. The lunch rush can be a crazy time so call ahead if you have the option. The line has literally backed out the door at times. If you're pita out, then you're probably not Pita Inn? Bah, that was terrible! Anyway, they have pita pockets with yummy stuff inside. I had the falafel. It was righteous. Good, not great. Hummus is also good. Their hot red pepper dip is great. Get a container of garlic dip. It's rather delicious. It's a fast food setting and you order and pick up at the counter, and it's oddly reminiscent of Fazoli's inside. People were nice to me, so that was good. Very good! Lately there's a ton of competition with Mediterranean food, and a broad spectrum of good and bad. In fact, there's another Mediterranean restaurant just across the street... I believe it's Skippys or Skippers. I haven't been there so I can't compare them, but I'm not sure how it affects business being across the street. I was surprised that Pita Inn has a small menu, but maybe that's a good thing. I've been to other Mediterranean places that have really big menus as if they are trying to cater to everyone. If you want kabobs, falafel, hummus, babe ghanoush.... this is the right place. Forget about hot dogs, hamburgers, ribs, etc. I recommend getting the vegetable platter, which comes with falafel, hummus, baba ghanoush, Mediterranean salad, and more. We also got a combination platter which is a bunch of meats and it comes with rice and pitas. If you get both of those you basically get one of everything on the menu. It is done really fast, so I guess you can classify this as fast food..... but it's really good fast food. read more

First time at this location, we typically go to the glenview site. Location was clean, plenty of parking. Food was identical to glenview location. Husband got the combination entree and I got the kefta entree. No complaints, everything was delicious! We love the warm pita and cannot forget about the fresh hummus! read more

Served with rice, salad and pita bread. Each is just $6.99 and a really huge portion of food. My friend adn I actually split the Business Lunch special and there was a lot of meat! Fresh meat & veggies so we were happy campers. There is a decent amount of indoor seating plus nice outdoor seats when the weather is nice. The staff is friendly and pretty quick getting the food out. The tiny parking lot is a bit of a nightmare on weekdays for lunch but it's not unmanageable. People who work here are always very nice and friendly. We've ordered from here a bunch of times and really love it. I'm trying to eat less meat and tried the Impossible Kefta Kabob Entree and was very surprised. I literally could not tell that it was fake meat, except that it wasn't greasy or fatty LOL. They actually had blended the fresh seasoning and spices into the veggie meat before grilling it. Pretty freaking awesome. My eight year old was grabbing it off my plate and loving it. We also love the home made hot sauces, the felafel, the babganoush. Pita Inn is my absolute favorite restaurant in the Chicago suburbs! I now live out of town and it is the one place I must go when I come to visit family! You can't go wrong on their menu. Their falafels are the best thing you can get outside of Israel, their baba ganoush is drool worthy, and their chicken shawarma never disappoints! My favorite thing to order is their chicken shawarma entree with two falafels on the side. If you are looking for a little healthier meal, I highly recommend their chicken fattoush salad! It is chicken shawarma over a delicious salad with vinaigrette house dressing. Make sure you grab extra yogurt sauce at the front when you pick up your food from the counter. First of all, let's be honest here. You will not get an unbiased, neutral review here. I will state, simply, for the record, that Pita Inn is my favorite place to eat in the world. I have traveled all over North America and Europe. I have eaten at tiny, hole in the wall places, big fancy restaurants and everything in between. Pita Inn is my favorite restaurant. This is not a review, this is a gibbering, fanboy rant. If you ever meet me, ask me to do my southern preacher take on the "Holy Pita". I get the Kefta or the Lamb Kebab generally, both of which are sublime. The hummus is the best I have ever had. Their bread, made in their own bakery, is incredible. Go to the store on Dempster and get it fresh. Trust me on this. Their Stuffed Grape Leaves leave me giddy. My wife loves the Falafel. I don't tend to like Falafel, but I like theirs. The red sauce that you can get to go with the meal is feral. The burn is glorious without being painful. The Tahini is marvelous. I love the Tabouleh Salad. It is amazing food. I have visited every location now (I am posting this for every location). We go whenever we are in the Chicago area. We plan trips around it. "Let's leave at this time so we can have a meal at Pita Inn." Go ... eat there. You won't be disappointed. read more

Beef is good, hummus is good falafels are okay, there are better places in the area (pita pita, Roti) but it's not bad, might stop by again. Every Pita Inn is surprisingly consistent and delicious. The business lunch special on weekdays is "Can't Miss" value. If I'm looking to eat out for lunch and Pita Inn is nearby, that's my choice 9/10 times. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with the steak kebab platter (or pita pocket if you're not as hungry). I feel like there was a time that Pita Inn was IT. Like... the gold standard. I don't know if it's that I have been to another location, or it's gone downhill in the last few years, but I ate there the other day and it was terrible. I had the beef shawarma plate and it was awful. The shawarma was dry, hard, flavorless bits. I mean the rice was good. My friend got falafel and I tried one and that was ok. But the shawarma was a solid 1 star. I also got some food to take home - chicken tender platter, and a kofta kabab platter. Also... just not good. I mean the rice was good but the chicken and the kofta both were dry and flavorless. I don't know. Maybe I'm spoiled because there's MUCH better Mediterranean to be had elsewhere but this was a big ol' bust. I will say that the restaurant was clean and the people working there were friendly and polite, so that's a plus. read more
