All you need to do is take the gondola from Canyon Lodge to The Village. I've tried their chicken crave, Philly steak, gyro and babaganoush. All are pretty decent and with a combo it's less than $10. This place is definitely affordable; with most items around $8. We ordered: 1) steak and eggs pita - soo good; i think the hot sauce they put in there did the trick 2) prime rib pita - good too; it kinda reminds me of thinly sliced carne asada 3) gyro pita - this one was just OK; husband preferred the steak & eggs breakfast pita better The staff stuffed our pitas w/ yummy freshly cooked meats, and then we told them what other toppings we wanted. Called in an order right as I got off the slopes and onto the gondola heading down to the village. I was able to pay right as I got in and got my food a few minutes later. They were pretty slammed as I would expect on a Sunday afternoon but due to covid most people were waiting for their orders outside. We got the Greek and the Chicken Bacon Ranch pitas with the whole wheat wrap. They were both good and definitely a healthier option than some of the fast food or gas station stops on the way back to socal. And not to mention way cheaper than mountain food. A solid option if you are looking for something quick on your way out of town. There are about 15 or so "30 min or less" parking spots outside so depending on the day, they may be hard to come by. There's also a paid parking lot across the street, although I am unsure if you have to pay under a certain amount of time. They threw both the wraps into a plastic bag, which in the future I'd ask not too. I also recommend they switch to paper! read more

Let me tell you one thing. For the most bang for your buck in Mammoth, Pita Pit should be your goto spot to eat for lunch! I have been to Mammoth a couple times hitting them Slopes and what I have noticed is that food pricing is ridiculous in the main lodge or neighboring lift stations. However, if you take the lift down to the village, take a left to the other side of the street, you can find Pita Pit. I have eaten a different style wrap every time so I will give you a overview. This is a build your own style lunch spot, like a subway or chipotle. They focus on making pita wraps specifically. The quality of the items is good and they will cook up any hot item protein right there on the spot ( not in a microwave). its most of the time under $10 which is rare in Mammoth. What more can you want. Its also nice to come here and get away from the lodge area that tends to be packed with people. Overall, Pita Pit is good quality wraps for a great price! Stopped in here yesterday for lunch. First off, my rating would have been 4.5 but that isn't an option so I am going with 5 stars. The reason I was going to do a slight deduction was the fact that they were out of Beyond meat and weren't getting it in for awhile. So I had the Santa Fe pita with black bean patty instead. It did give my pita an extra kick. It was very good and all the veggies were nice and fresh. Hubby got the Greek bowl with falafel. Another very tasty dish with fresh tasting veggies. This is my favorite joint to go in Mammoth now, because they always open till 2AM! I've tried their BLT, Spicy Bean, Breakfast (Meat my Day), so far nothing really disappointed me. Sometimes I'm just so satisfied with my Yelp app. This is one of those cases. I know food spots in Mammoth aren't the greatest. I was looking for a simple, tasty, cheap place to grab a bite to eat. Pita Pit is basically like Chipotle but with pita wraps instead. I ordered myself the Chicken Shawarma wrap and added everything from hummus to artichokes to feta cheese. It was a fat wrap. It was good. It was awesome. My boyfriend has himself the Prime Rib wrap and that was WAY better. He asked them to make it with whatever toppings they would typically used for this one. So they grilled some peppers and onions for him. They topped it off with some cheese that just melted into it. I wanted to steal it.
