I really enjoyed my pick two meal of Chicken Tawook, Beef Shish Kebab, Rice, Grilled Onion, Grilled Tomato and Falafel. Everything was flavorful! Although I enjoyed my meal, my favorites were the Chicken Tawook and Falafel. The chicken was grilled, tender and bursting with flavor. The falafel had the right flavor and crunch. 10/02/25 - I love Pita Pita Mediterranean Grill (PPMG) This is the first time I have been at this location in Des Plaines but not the first time @ a PPMG. I have eaten at other locations like Palatine (first time), Rolling Meadows, Lombard & now at this location in Des Plaines. Once again PPMG didn't disappoint. The food & the service were excellent as I have come to expect @ PPMG regardless of where you get your meal. I go to lunch w/my buddy about once every other week. We take turns & rotate every other time. For him it was his first time @ a PPMG. Both my buddy & I I ordered the mixed meat combination which comes w/a variety of meats. This combination comes w/beef shawarma, beef kifta sausage, piece of grilled beef, chicken shawarma, chicken kifta & grilled chicken, some yellow rice & salad all excellently seasoned. All of this comes for $19.00/person. He also ordered a cup of lentil soup. The portion sizes are generous & more than I can eat wo/gorging myself. (I had leftovers) All of this delicious goodness for $19.00/combo. This meal was made more affordable by a Groupon that I purchased. The deal was $40 worth of food for $25. Even wo/the Groupon this is an excellent value & an excellent meal. The restaurant is pretty big with plenty of dine in seating, and the workers were very friendly. The food is delicious - we tried the falafel plate and the chicken schwarma bowl - very big portions! I walked into a large, clean, and inviting store, where I was immediately greeted by a friendly, smiling face. I ordered a beef shawarma bowl for $14. That's not bad for all of the fresh flavor they packed into it. Hummus, rice, salad, and beef are a great combination. I couldn't even eat half of it, there was so much. The potato garlic dip is BONKERS good. Everything else is pretty swell too. I prefer Pita Inn's Shwarma but everything else at Pita Pita might be a slight step above Pita Inn. We got pita chips to dip in our hummus and things and they were all mostly crumbs. They were DELICIOUS crumbs... but not practical to dip in much of anything. So. Be aware of that I suppose. I'm disappointed with this establishment because their protein portions are misleading. The place is clean, the staff is polite, and the food tastes good, but when you charge $2.40 for "extra protein" and claim it's 2 oz, customers should actually get that amount. My last order of extra chicken shawarma was only about 1 3/8 oz. And don't even get me started on chicken tawook. The pieces are so small and thin they barely add up to anything. I paid $7.20 (plus tax) for extra meat and it came out to just over 2oz combined. One of the pieces was .5oz!! Accuracy and honesty matter. If you charge for extra protein, make sure customers are getting what they pay for. read more

Not pleased. I ordered from here and chose the curbside option because I needed to bring my 13 month old with me to pick up the order. When I got there, I called the restaurant and no one picked up. I called a second time, and no one picked up. So I had to get the kid out of her car seat and go in to get it, which anyone with a kid will know is exponentially more difficult than it sounds. The food was alright, in that it was edible of course, but it wasn't very well spiced. And by that I mean it tasted pretty much like a chicken breast, not much flavor at all (or not what I'm looking for when I order shish taouk). But given my experience I don't know that I'd come back again because I've had better Mediterranean food, and they don't offer the convenience I was looking for so no reason to choose this place if I'm seeking out that cuisine. read more

I dined at Pita Pita in Des Plaines IL. I had pita pita years ago (i was 19 back then. 32 now). I do not recall Taste back then. My recent dining experience was excellent. You can tell they use fresh quality ingredients in the food they serve. I do believe it was a good meal. My main gripe is the meat portions were small (pick 2 plate). I paid over 30 dollars for dinner plate large hummus and 3 falafel. For $30 I expected a more generous portion of meats. The taste and quality of the rice salad hummus and falafel was on point. 4 stars out of 5. 1 star docked or possibly 1.5 stars docked due to high price and lacking portion of protein. read more

First and second visits were amazing-!great food and super friendly service. Based on today's visit, would not recommend it at all. I waffled between the Rolling Meadows location and this one as both are on my way home but settled on this one because it's in my neighborhood. Walked in to a half-assed greeting, but to be fair, he was vacuuming the booths which appreciated but then when he came to take my order, literally no eye contact. Good came and I only got 1 of the 2 meals I ordered and then he tried to charge me for the second one, which I did not pay for. When we ate our meals at home, it was not good. Sad to say that the pita and salad was the best part of the meal. Rice and baba ganoush had no flavor and the beef shish kebab was either way overcooked and dry or overseasoned and salty. Also, the whole place smelled like urinal cakes. I want to say I will give them another chance, but would more likely go out of my way to the RM location next time. read more
