Got lunch take out today, and although the food was pretty good, I felt it was way overpriced, even by Manhattan standards. I got the Greek salad, and it had good flavors, but the lettuce was a bit yellowed and the portion size was pretty small. i also had the vegetarian pita, which was good as well, but again, smallish portion size. The meal was a bit over $30, and I was left feeling hungry. I probably wouldn't reorder from Pita Press unless i am really craving Greek food and I can't find anything better in the area before then.

Delicious but overpriced. $25 for a shrimp kabob side of halloumi cheese and drink. Not filling, I could've easily eaten two of them but that would cost a lot. Love the food, not the prices or portions.

Lamb and Beef Gyro

Growing up in and around Astoria, I get really weak for Greek and food sometimes. There are only about 2-3 spots for Greek food in the area, this being one of them. But it's not at the popularity level of Uncle Gussy's or GRK, mainly because of the shady-looking location--tell me I'm wrong. I've been here twice now and it does the job if you're craving Greek food. I am somewhat biased, as I've been spoiled by amazing Greek food in Astoria, but the quality here is average--you're also paying Manhattan prices and Manhattan lunch quality, so don't expect too much. I liked the juicy, tender cuts of the lamb and beef gyro, but it was heavily lacking in flavor. There wasn't enough tzatziki sauce and not much seasoning in the meats either. The serving size is also on the smaller side, so best to order a meal or a side if you have a big appetite. It seems that they heavily rely on online and phone orders, which I suppose the one of the reasons this place stays afloat. There aren't many customers ordering during lunch time and it's probably because it's so hidden. OK for a grab 'n go bite, but not my top choice for Greek in FiDi.

Whole Rotisserie Chicken

Just ordered the rotisserie chicken family platter for 40 plus dollars, it was not cooked with blood in it. When i called to explain what happened and ask for a replacement I was told "sorry, cant help you". Buyer beware

Horiatiki Salad with chicken

I used to order takeout from this place all the time. I stopped by today to order a salad and I was shocked at the drop in quality and the increase in price. I got a simple Greek salad with chicken. It was $15.87!!! Not only was the price ridiculous the quality is much worse than before. My tomatoes were half rotten and inedible. The feta cheese was not that fresh. I was extremely disappointed and I will not be returning. The Greek truck on Wall Street has much better food at half the price!

Greek Fries, Giant Beans, lentils soup, cauliflower

Delicious Greek food that feels like home cooked meals. We got the cod pita and vegetarian pita along with Greek Fries, favs beans, and cauliflower sides. All were super yummy and would recommend. I look forward to trying the smoothies and other items

Zucchini Feta Fritters Plate with Roasted Lemon Potatoes

They have a nice layout with a bright blue section for counter seating. Their zucchini fritters dish was tasteful. I wish there were like 2 more of those fritters! 3 was not enough. So good! By the way, they have a variety of pre-cut dessert in plastic to go containers as well, so this could be a good dessert place too.

Using Yelp to search for Greek pitas my food travels takes me to the Financial District. My one pork pita $7.40 was very messy and the lettuce does not appear fresh. The Tzatziki sauce was mediocre. My pita was wrapped in a roll to be consumed on the go New York style. Desserts and traditional Greek sweets of Baklava and Kataifi are available including the popular rise of Greek yogurt. Note: No restroom facility on site. No utensil counter or napkin freely out in the open to dispense as all is distributed in your order. Since there are no restroom facility on site Pita Press should at least provide moist towelettes for patrons who do dine-in. Bring your own moist towelettes or hand sanitizer. Pita Press contains very minimal ledge (not table) seating available with stools as this eatery is designed for takeout. I am not overall impressed.

Lamb and beef plate with cucumber tomato salad.

I love Pita Press! I always order the lamb & beef plate with cucumber tomato salad as the side. The food is fresh and warm and the service is fast. Two tips: 1) Order via Ritual to collect points. You also save a dollar and a few minutes :) 2) Opt for the lamb & beef instead of the chicken.

Scam. Prices are not as posted. Charged 6.99 to add grilled chicken to salad even though price posted is 4.75.

There was a short wait, but from what I could see, a variety of tables here and seating. Not the biggest place, dark, intimate, wood accents and small spotlights over tables. We ordered buns and spicy edamame to start. It seemed like we had just ordered when the food came out. Love that. Buns were incredibly good - a close second to a joint in Chicago we ate at last weekend. Succulent meat, plenty of sauce, and just the usual pillowy bun. The edamame didn't seem spicy at first - then my face melted. Still good but a deep burning spiciness to them as advertised. For my entree I got the beef miso ramen, adding corn and an egg. The corn wasn't just a pile of kernels - but a side slice of a cob. Cool presentation. Beef was good and the broth soothed my soul. Top 10 ramen places I've been - well done.

We tried the spicy shrimp (coconut based broth), spicy tonkatsu, and salmon miso ramen. The tonkatsu and salmon were both cooked well - tender and moist. Ramen noodles were thin and well cooked - more al dente. We also tried the karaage which had a thick crispy batter and a sweet glaze, with an optional spicy side sauce for dipping. They had a variety of sake and beer options. The inside is small but turnaround is fairly quick. Lots of two seaters and a large table that we were able to snag after just a few minutes of waiting. There was also bar seating. Pretty dark inside to add to the ambiance for a quick date or catch up with friends. Checked in to the waitlist via Resy because we didn't have a reservation, and it was a short wait. Service was prompt.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I would return to Friedman's when I'm in the Herald Square area, or check out one of their other locations in the city.

I was impressed by the chunks of pastrami throughout. Very hearty and very delicious! My husband indulged in the Nova Benedict. They packed on the lox. He didn't even finish but found it amazingly delicious. Service was okay. Nothing too spectacular. I almost felt an inconvenience to the server but we didn't have a fussy order nor was it busy (we ordered before the rush). Maybe she was preparing for the rush. Lol either way, it wouldn't stop me from returning.

The guy will handed you all the your order per person per item. If later, all you do is to put the little saucer on top of the sensor which will let them know that I am ready for next item. There's water dispenser along the wall. You order upfront and head to the iconic booth seating (dividers up for solo dining, or folded back for groups). Because Japan's food scene is elite, I kept my expectations low. The tonkotsu broth was solid and the wheat noodles were perfectly cooked, but the chashu fell a little flat--it was tougher than the texture you get overseas. I also ordered the seasonal matcha pudding and it was pretty tea forward. It was pretty good. Overall: 3/5. It's a fun, nostalgic experience if you miss Japan, but at $23-$30 a bowl with the chashu not as great, it's a one-time visit for me. Stick to the original if you can!

Got off the E train and when we looked for Chinese food, this place popped up with good reviews and it was just a short walk from where we got off the train. My buddies ordered the special lunches and we also got two types of xlb's, beef chow fun, and some fried dumplings. The special lunches come with a little fried rice, cold garlic flavored noodle, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and main side. My buddies all enjoyed their meals. The beef chow fun was also really good and beef was nice and tender. The xiao long baos were excellent and is comparable to any place in California like DTF. Nice and juicy and great with some ginger, soy sauce, and spicy chili. Friendly service and food comes out pretty quickly. Credit card is accepted. Bathroom was also very clean, which is sometimes rare in some Chinese restaurants I have been to. If you're looking for a good Chinese meal, stop here when you're in the Chelsea area.

There were a few takeout orders, but we were the only people sitting down for late lunch. And y'know ... it was pretty good. Wonton soup is what I'd expect in Chinatown. Wonton wrappers were thin -- my preference -- the stuffing delicious and the broth flavorful. They were generous with the beef in our chow fun. Good, but the noodles needed a jolt. So I asked for soy sauce which was sort of a solution. Shrimp with vegetables was great. A lot of shrimp, too. There are lunchtime specials on weekdays, reasonable prices, and nice people work there. Next time it makes sense to try dumplings since it is, after all a dumpling house.

The filling was satisfying and the flavors were well balanced in a way that made it easy to see why it keeps coming up as a favorite. Individual onigiri are priced in the four to six dollar range, which makes ordering a few to try different fillings a low risk decision. The miso soup that came with the combo was comforting and rounded out the meal without feeling like an afterthought. The unagi onigiri in the combo was where I would pump the brakes. It was good, though I felt it was a little heavier on the rice. The mentaiko and mayo is another strong option if you want something with a bit more richness, and the tuna yuzu is worth keeping in mind for a lighter, brighter pick.
