Walked into this place due to seeing so many people walking in. Was looking for a quick dessert and was hoping for a classic NY Cheesecake. As soon as I walked in and saw the variety, I was happy I trusted my gut and walked in. Obviously didn't get a classic Cheesecake but this one was BETTER. It was so rich and the dark chocolate on the outside really balanced the flavors. I love smooth cheesecakes and this one hit the spot! I really loved the food hall vibe with so many options for food, drinks and desserts. One downside was the noise level. It was so loud in there I could not have a conversation with the person as close as shoulder to shoulder to me. I came in here randomly after 5 p.m. after strolling by on a Friday night. The inside is very clean and spacious, and similar to a food court. I wasn't sure what to get after browsing through the abundance of options, but finally settled for the hot/cold salad bar which was 12.99/lb. I figured this would allow me to sample a variety of foods without having to commit to an order. First off, I was NOT impressed by the soft/cold fries and onion rings. It was probably made much earlier that day and was forgotten about. The fried rice and sweet and sour tofu was nothing special, and same goes for the pesto pasta and meatball. As a Korean, I will say that the Japchae wasn't too bad, which makes me wonder how the rest of the Korean food is like. However I have yet to be impressed with Korean food in an Americanized eatery. I am willing to give this place another try, but during breakfast or lunch time when the food is more fresh. So many options! Care Hestia is a solid, high quality takeout/pickup lunch spot in the heart of Manhattan's financial district downtown. I come here regularly to pick up lunch since my office is close by. TBH, I usually get the same salad most times because it's consistent, it's fast, and the ingredients are fresh. However, there are a bunch of different stations and a buffet bar so I will need to branch out if I'm feeling adventurous. I have no complaints and will continue coming here for a fast lunch when I'm in the office. read more

Pretty convenient lunch spot in FiDi that's pretty reasonably priced. They cook noodles, rice, burgers, and tofu soup fresh and very fast. The ramen is technically instant noodles, so I don't recommend ordering that. The buffet style foods are measured by weight, so I tend to avoid it even though everything looks super fresh because I could accidentally make a $30 meal. There isn't a lot going on in the Financial District. Hopefully it is coming back but unfortunately I see a lot of spaces for rent. The good news is Cafe Hestia is up and running. This is a big place with all sorts of items. It is clean and has plenty of seating so if you are vaccinated you can chill out. I live close to Cafe Hestia so usually my partner and I will go to the deli on Saturday mornings/afternoons for food. After a few times visiting, I realized that one of the men who works behind the counter is significantly more pleasant and nicer to my partner (a male) than to me (a female). We both use the same manners and courtesies when ordering our food. One time, when I went there alone, I ordered a sandwich that was on the menu and was told by the man behind the counter "No." When I asked for clarification, he said "Come back in 30 minutes." That's fine for a restaurant reservation, not for a neighborhood deli. As a New York City deli with many other options in the area, they should work on their customer service. read more

Great cafe that just opened. Huge variety, which can be a little overwhelming. Everything we've had has been great quality, though, and the people who work there are incredibly nice. -- freshly stir fried veggie udon (shiitake and regular mushrooms, cabbage, etc.; can make it spicy. Udon was perfectly cooked) -- sushi (decently fresh and hit the spot, though not as good as you'd get at a sushi place, of course) -- latte (really good and reasonably priced) -- chocolate tart (A+. It's soft and the chocolate quality is good) -- cream cheese bagel (soft and chewy--one of the better ones in the area by far) I can't wait to try some of their Korean dishes. They have a pasta bar (cooked to order) as well. Someone ordered ahead of me and his order looked fantastic. There's a seating area by the window if you want to eat there.
