Feeling like…read morea little bit of everything on a plate; we took a good ole ride down to Sunrise Pita and Grill. Going in, there wasn't too long of a wait and we settled on a shawarma mini plate with a side order of fresh fries. Moving on with my review; everything was excellent! Note; I've been coming here since I've been a child, but the food nevertheless fails to impress me. The shawarma was succulent, spiced and grilled well too; fries fresh and crispy; the veggies/spreads were all fresh and provided nicel contrast of flavors too. Moreover, the mini plate provided plenty to eat between the 2 of us as our bellies were super full! In addition, the employees were very friendly and attentive. Overall, this was another superb meal at Sunrise Pita & Grill, and hope those who haven't been here to give this place a shot! Verdict remains 5/5!

However we were in for a nasty surprise when we realized that their website is incorrect and they aren't open until 10 PM, only until 8 PM, so by 7:30 when we arrived, the grills were closed. The only protein options they had were schnitzel or falafel. I got a falafel pita, and even though I love falafel, this just wasn't it. The falafel didn't have much flavor, and the sauce had a weirdly bitter aftertaste. It was overall pretty dry, and it fell flat texturally. The flavor of their hummus was also quite bland with a bitter aftertaste as well. While I didn't try it myself, my family was rather unimpressed with the schnitzel pita too. The best part of the meal was the potato wedges and the canned Israeli apple juice. After such a disappointing experience, I don't think I'd go out of my way to come back.

Everything arrived neatly packed, and I appreciated that my falafel wrap was wrapped well and didn't get squished. My mom's chicken, rice, and greek salad kids' meal was the highlight. The portion was generous, well balanced, and she's a very picky eater who finished every bite, which says a lot. Unfortunately, my falafel was the opposite experience. It looked great, but it was dense, dry, and lacked flavor. Even the tzatziki was bland. I really wanted to like it, but it just didn't deliver. I'd order my mom's meal again, but I wouldn't order the falafel or other vegetarian options.

The portion size, the taste, the quality, even the side of greek fries was fantastic on seasoning and freshness and crispiness. The Greek platter presentation is really nice, but while the meats are plentiful the bed of rice pilaf isn't nearly enough to fill the half empty plate. Again the meal was absolutely fresh, great on seasonings and delicious. It's just a bit expensive for the portion size. But it does also bring warm pita with tatziki sauce and a side salad lightly tossed in oil and vinegar which was refreshing. Only miss was portion size on the platter, which kept me from giving a 5 star review. BUT I will definitely be back to try that Athenian burger!

The food was phenomenal as well. We started with hummus that was served with a nice amount of pita bread. It was rich and creamy and balanced nicely with the olive oil drizzled in the center. I ordered the Mojito, which was delicious and refreshing on a hot Florida day. As my main dish, I ordered the beef platter with my sides of Greek salad and Angel rice. I usually order the gyro platter with the lemon potatoes, and they're ALWAYS a hit. Seriously... if you go, get the lemon potatoes. This time, though, I was craving a traditional gyro pita, and omg it was so good! They absolutely loaded it up, it was HUGE, the meat was juicy as always, and every bite was delicious. My dad always orders the chicken platter, and he loves it every single time. The fresh Greek salad that comes with the platter is always so crisp and delicious, and the tzatziki is so fresh, creamy, and flavorful. You really can't go wrong with anything here. And of course, we can never leave without getting the baklava cheesecake. It's honestly one of my favorite desserts ever! As a sweet surprise, the owner also gave us a complimentary baklava, which was such a kind and generous gesture. This place has that authentic mom-and-pop feel, amazing food, and genuinely friendly service that keeps us coming back. I'd recommend it every single time--10/10! Desert Heat in Suburban Florida…read more Coral Springs is not exactly known for culinary danger. It's polite. It's manicured. It behaves. And then you walk into Falafel Gourmet and suddenly you're not in suburbia anymore -- you're in a little Middle Eastern oasis hiding in plain sight on State Road 7. First thing that hits you? That glass case of baklava. Not two sad trays. Not corner-store pastry vibes. A full shimmering lineup of honey-soaked, pistachio-loaded, syrup-dripping architecture. It's the kind of display that makes you whisper, "I'll pretend I'm taking it home for later." You're not. You're eating it in the car. Then the homemade lemonade. Not powdered. Not lazy. Fresh. Bright. And just when you think you've figured it out -- there's that hint of ginger. Subtle heat. Like it knows something you don't. It cuts through the richness like a blade. One sip and you realize Florida doesn't deserve this level of refreshment. Now let's talk shawarma. Lamb. Chicken. We had both. And this is where things get serious. Juicy. Properly seasoned. Wrapped tight. No soggy collapse halfway through. No bland filler. Just meat that's been treated with respect and cooked like someone's grandmother might actually yell at them if they messed it up. If your shawarma needs sauce to survive, you've already failed. This one doesn't. The service? Warm. Real. No robotic upsell script. You feel like they actually want you there. Like they care whether you enjoyed it. And then the teas. There's a section of teas that will make you want to point randomly and say, "Surprise me." You start asking questions. You start trusting recommendations. You start planning a second visit before the first one is done. This isn't fast food. It's edible hospitality. We walked in curious. We walked out planning to come back tomorrow night. That's the only review metric that matters. Will I come back? Hell yes.
